If the combat are relatively easy in a game that's actually a big plus for me, and if the biggest challenge combat wise is to find the way to make the most stylish combos that's PERFECT. the Dark Souls mentality that every game NEEDS to have challenging combat can go to hell as far as i'm concerned.
Glad to see that these gaming websites are beginning to realize that you have to play through these games more than once to experience the full story. Kudos IGN.

It's something in between a remaster and remake. But yeah, puzzles aren't remade. The remake part only applies to some extra scenes/content and combat.
It could have been so much better if they didn’t force us to replay the 2nd half 3 times to collect the endings- instead they could give us new content like Automata did, sadly the potential is limited by the resource Square Enid had back in 2009
Pc reviews are saying its not a perfect port, but the issues they're describing don't sound too bad. There's no option for framerate, so its always 60 with no way to cap it lower for a more consistent experience on low end hardware. The framerate drops in cutscenes and it isn't clear if this is because they were recorded at a lower framerate, or if its a weird performance issue. And the mouse cursor will occasionally pop back on screen when cutscenes start.

That was legit my most hated area in the game. Junk heap is so dull to go through after the 5th time. Especially since most of the visits are just for mindless farming.

As someone who mained Dragoon in the recent Nier raids of FF14, the soundtrack gives me PTSD.

They did not, but I dont think there are any weapons you can miss in the first playthrough and not get in the second.
