      Love it, transitioning from job to business was one of the best decisions I ever made. Took a while to get it happening but very worth it

    I think the best buying opportunity is still to come. I don’t think markets have bottomed. Historically, markets tank after the fed pivots. They haven’t pivoted yet.
    Real estate hasn’t even begun to decline compared to where it’s going. It’s always the last to fall.

      Could be chaos next year, either way I'm sticking to the same rules
      Cash buffer
      Low expenses
      High income
      Invest consistently

    You want to pay the deposits on this $1M dollars worth of properties with cash downpayments and you are buying property constantly? Does this mean you have managed to save 200k (20% of that 1M) in cash during a short period to put down as a deposit and am not drawing any equity from your existing portfolio?

    • @raycorc
      @raycorc  2 роки тому

      yep that's correct - over the course of 2023 I'll be able to get 200k cash together
      would expect to buy one in first 6 months of year and one at end of the year
      i'd consider pulling equity but not counting on it being available, prefer not to - I like the peace of mind having 20% equity from day one, even if it's a slower approach

      @@raycorc Wow - you are doing well if you are able to save that sort of cash yearly. I too would prefer to be able to do it that way but am not in a position to do so. We draw the equity from our existing portfolio to increase it although it does limit our borrowing capacity considerably - only up to number 3 though. My family all like the finer things in life too much but we have our plan in place to build enough wealth to see us through our older years while we continue to live a good quality of life until then.
      Best of luck to you in your future investments mate.

      @@TheTogmo thank you mate - lots of working
      hard to get the balance right between enjoying things now and saving
      I actually enjoy not spending, knowing I’m getting closer to total freedom

    Hi mate happy new year. Love the videos. Not sure if i can it here. My partner will be back to work after 2 yrs. For few reasons we decide her pay will go straight into my account. What would be the pros/cons like taxes

    • @raycorc
      @raycorc  2 роки тому

      Thanks mate, hrmm - ultimately speak with your accountant as they’ll know the tax implications, I’m not qualified
      My guess is that the payslips will still have her name on them and she’d still pay her normal tax. It might be messy separating your expenses for work potentially. Personally I’d prefer to have the money go into a separate account so it’s cleaner, maybe have a third account if she doesn’t want to see the money / you’re trying to save currently etc
      Accountant will be easily able to tell you. My wife’s salary goes to her and then she transfers her portion of savings to our offset, dunno if that helps

    Good video. I’d suggest it’s worth buying some BTC or ETH in 2023 if you have any interest in it. These tend to go through 4 year cycles and this year in the cycle is a great time to buy if history is any guide. Stick to the 2 majors, stay away from the shit coins.

      Thanks for watching Steve, I definitely would like to have some crypto exposure at some point (say 5% of networth). Main focus is growing the biz and reducing my mortgage for now!
      I do believe they’ll start to improve over the next 12 months
