Interview lighting can be one of the most difficult but important things you master as a cinematographer or videographer. Learning to light faces is extremely important as you grow in your career! In this video I'm going to show you how I lit a corporate promo with only two lights.
When it comes down to it, you really only need two kinds of lights - one to light the subject and one to separate them from the background. What are your go-to lights for interviews? How many lights do you try to use? Another thing I try to do when I am setting up a scene is to light for the whole scene, not just the subject. This has helped me tremendously when I am creating visual interest around my video shoots.
