This is who is leading our next gen of education, private, and home school school is starting to sound pretty good.
Leading or intimidating? Big city school systems now have annual budget of over a billion dollars per year. There is a lot of money in it. They're their own taxing authority. People are attracted to this money. I use the word "mafia" but that is not very specific. If you're a real teacher and do not get politically involved with the rulers, the punishment is to harass and destroy the teacher. Oh and the part about no textbooks, only "guidelines." Using guidelines as criteria makes it easy to harass a worker.
They could very well call home schooling and private schools terrorists. I dont want to wonder or think this way, but these people are radical. Anything will go.

There's very little actual content to what she is saying. She's just spouting off meaningless slogans and empty platitudes. I could never understand how people can applaud a speech where so little is actually said.
Consider how dumb the average person is, then realize that half of all the people out there are even dumber than that. That's who the target audience is.

If you know the issues that teachers and students are facing right now, you'd be saying how wonderful her speech is. I've known Becky for over 30 years. Her students and colleagues love her. Education and politics really can't be separated. That's where school funding/programs comes from. So much is now being regulated by folks who want to tear public schools apart. We need Becky to fight for education on the national level.Thank you Becky!

If you are a renter your payment includes the cost of tax your landlord pays. In Oregon the middle priced home and middle income earner will pay a combined amount of $5,600 to his/her local school.
