Dang I'm so jealous right now. I have my ultra stage 2. That big bore kit with the clutch upgrade sure are enticing. I have some of the parts you discussed but not nearly enough!
www.cyclesolutions.com/quote/ You can click that link to request a quote as there are many options that can be added or taken away to make it more or less expensive. The price on that particular 124” big bore kit with cylinders, pistons and heads and diamond cutting. Is $5999.00. That includes installation and tuning. Can be bought for $4999 with no diamond cut.
I'm looking to do this 124 kit on my 2011 Ultra Limited w/ 103. I'm curious about how hot this thing gets. I'm in central FL (3 hours from you) and already had to swap my air cleaner because it was giving me 2nd-degree burns. Also, are you considering transmission upgrades on this or just a clutch upgrade?
I can't believe the so-called engineers at HD designed another P O S that has so many flaws , Now what's wrong with a one peice crank like a car has and through the whole HD crank in the crapper ,go with a proven design, let a company like Scat or corillo design a crank n rod combo that works hell I can think up a better design then what HD has put out in the last 20 years I'm just an ole machanic tought way back in 1973
A loose fit of the sprocket on the crank and the crank having so much runout makes me wonder about these M8's..... are they even made in the USA or made in China and just assembled in the States or even assembled in Mexico by cheap labour.... no wonder sales are down ! It'd be cheaper to buy a twin cam and build a monster out of S&S parts.....
Brakes and clutch from Italy, engine components from Austria, suspension in Japan, and electrical/miscellaneous parts from china. Then assembled in the US to just to say it's American made. The Toyota Tacoma is more American made than Harley's. Then they charge a premium for tech that is in simple terms 100+ years old, because tradition is what gets the old guys buying. 124" is around 2000cc, to get 150whp. Sport bikes do more than that with less. Just and example bmw s1000rr has 1000cc's and makes 200whp all while starting at $5k less than a streetglide. This is why people are not buying, the value isn't there anymore. They are so uncreative they became old news.
@@NO4Q2 I have two Harleys my self a Dyna and a Sporty - both hopped up and modded suspension and brakes-wise so I know what you mean about the lack of performance. Back to the manufacture thing though, we have a similar thing with Triumphs here in England - assembled from imported parts, but I think that is the way of things now. All this 'out-sourcing' is what has caused so many here to work for a minimum wage - that and the imported unskilled labour artificially lowering wages for all kinds of work.
@@NO4Q2 they pay their Techs the least also I didn't know that until my cousin got out of school to work on Harleys and ended up at BMW started out making 20$hr Harley was 16$ MADE IN AMERICA has been a lie since the 1340 they had made in china parts in the motor.

Good to know about that loose crank sprocket being (another) common issue with the stock setup. Thanks
I wish the 128 kit you put on my 2018 CVO rd glide was filmed
Nice work Thanks for sharing
I love how you do things, And your attention to detail, But I would sure love a price estimate for a job like this.

CycleSolutions that price counts the Dark Horse crank and Timken bearing conversion ?

Are stock heads ok to run on the 124 set up?
