    This is not the full description of the role. The demonstration part is a very small aspect of being an SE . I'm currently a Sales Engineer and yes we do conduct demonstrations but you also have to do tons of testing on new products software, and firmwares, collaborating with Developers and designers weekly, clean and modify data, writing code when needed, and way more.

    A sales engineer is such a complex position. These guys are making it seem like it's a walk in the park. SE typically work 60-70 hours a week and are traveling alot. Very stressful on homelife and your work is never done. The money is great but to get to this position requires years of expertise in the field you're in along with business sense and people skills. This far from easy but can be very rewarding financially. Most sales engineers are single btw.

      @@nathankalonji1898 I was but switched to being a design engineer because I didn't like the lifestyle of a sales engineer. I'd much rather design the product than be the face of the company and have to sell it. If you get your master's degree and get into engineering management you can make between $120k-$140k a year and have a much more relaxed work schedule.

    Bro you’re spreading half truths. Being an SE is more complex than this. At an enterprise company this is a small percentage of the job. The technical validation is extremely important and often encompass more than an entry level experience. I love what your overall intention of introducing tech to minorities but let’s not sell a false reality in exchange of you selling more courses.
    Yes you can make 6 figures but it’s going to take more than a discovery call demo. After a demo, most complex sales cycles will have a POV (proof of value) or POC (proof of concept). That process alone is where you make your money and it’s a rigorous and longer process. You have to validate technical value according to their requirements.

    • @DapsNdPoundz
      @DapsNdPoundz Рік тому +14

      Yeah and not to mention those demos can be highly stressful lol at least at my company, our SE was giving demos to high level execs (CIOs, CTOs and even CEOs at times) so you can’t just bullshit your way through it. I’ve lost plenty of deals on SEs who really don’t know anything beyond the product and weren’t able to answer questions outside of the HIGHLY scripted demo. Ideally you want to put in more leg work to ensure your general knowledge base is solid beyond just the product.

      The interviewer is simplfying it too much in my opinion. A boot camp is great but its really hit or miss. To those thinking they can just shortcut into the tech industry with just bootcamp, dont be fooled. Many recruiters will see bootcamp as just a course, a boot camp is at your own pace and youre not under pressure to deliver like you would be at an internship, etc. I am very proud of this guy but i see too many videos that promote boot camps being the way into tech. Its a small percentage of people that actually make it into tech via bootcamp. Internships are still your best bet, practical work experience.

      Hey, so for myself and many friends of mine, the boot camp was all we needed. I don’t have any college experience or a degree. These boot camps give you the training, education, and help that you need. So a TECH SPECIFIC DEGREE CAN HELP, but it is unnecessary. As long as you do your part and the better you do your part, the faster they can help you break into tech.
      I’ll send you 4 options that I generally recommend. It’s up to you to decide which is best for your goals and budget.
      1. CourseCareers is self-paced. You can finish it in 3 weeks - 3 months. They offer tech sales roles with an avg entry salary of $65k - $95k. They are partnered with tech companies, so they’re able to help you get interviews with companies looking to hire their graduates. They also have paid internships (up to $21/hr) while you wait to get hired. They only offer courses for people in Canada & USA. They’re just $449 WITH MY DISCOUNT CODE: Cyrus50

      2. Careerist has a variety of 4-10 week courses (avg job starts at 85k - 115k). It’s virtual & 8 pm - 10:30 pm Sun-Thur ET. They are not partnered with tech companies, but they fix your resume to industry standard, your LinkedIn and they assist you with finding the right tech companies to apply for interviews. They also do interview coaching & provide interview cheat sheets.
      They’re $4,200, but I have a $300 discount link that you use with their sales too!
