  • A few of month ago I cleaned and painted an old big-ish cast iron bandsaw. Now I make a quick prototype for the blade guides I had in mind for this saw. I used stuff I had lying around, I only ordered the bearings. These blade guides seem to work just fine and are easy to adjust (almost toolless)! Next up is the enclosure and motor.
    Thanks for watching!

Wow! I love your vids, it makes me appreciate people who make the musical instruments!
I love my own guitar a lot and make music vids with it only but I wish I could make guitars too!

Will it be powered by a flat belt ? Cause it seems like that. Flat belts are very efficient but can be tricky to get to track

It used to be powered with a flat belt but now I use a v-belt for this bandsaw. Thanks for watching

    Hi from England
It'll be due some guards next then...?
    A bit on Kirchner :
The UK operations of Kirchner were bought by Alfred Cooksley, Tabernacle St. London....i think just prior to WW1...
Cooksley were a machine tool sales outfit...but also offering refurbs and repair/alterations...
They also listed themselves as "millwrights"...
Did you copy an existing design for the blade guides you've made here...?
    Or is it your own...?
Please please don't use this without a guard will you Robin...👍😉

      Hi Glenn,
I made the guide semi improvised out of stuff I had lying around. I did look at some other videos and pictures of guides for inspiration. They work just fine as they are, but I would like to make them out of nice materials some day.
I also did this a few months ago and I just now got around to make the video. I also made the enclosure/guard a while ago (before I put the motor on), this will be one of the next videos.
So in short the saw is pretty much finished by now and I have used it quite a bit already! I'm just behind on the video making.
      Thanks for watching!
