In Norway, we have a problem with fawns in the fields. The deer mother leaves them there to hide them from foxes. But combines and grass cutters will kill them. Sadly they don't move when the machines are coming. And it's almost impossible to see them. But now we have started to use drones with heat thermal cameras. They scan the fields before the machines start their work. The heat signature reveals the fawn location and the farmers can remove them.
Thank you for your story! That is the greatest news ever!!! I am so happy and glad you are saving the baby deer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made my day!!!!!!!
@@LarryKapp1 In Norway fawns is born late May to early June. They stay with their mother for about one year. Harvest is from June till early October. Depending on what you grow. For crops, it's usually late August. The most common crops in Norway are barley, wheat, oats and rye.
@@StarfleetCommand71 The fawns here in Wisconsin don't stay with their mothers that long I don't think. They grow pretty quickly and are on their own by winter. I will ask one of my friends who knows deer better. In Wisconsin there are a lot of deer - look at this from newspaper " In 2019, there were 18,414 reported deer crashes that resulted in injuries to 556 people, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Nine people, six of them on motorcycles, died in crashes with deer in 2019."
Wheat harvest is so awesome! I love that you’re driving a new combine! I know that your dad and entire family are very proud of you. You’re doing an amazing job, Kate.
I listened to this video because I couldn't watch the screen - and it was enjoyable even without the video. As others have said - your happiness for life effects others around you - even through digital . Thanks for making the world feel good Kate - it needs a lot more like you !
Kate. You are a true breath of fresh air. I am 60 grew up on an apple orchard my uncles were dairy farmer. Thumb of Michigan. All the farms are now gone to sub divisions. I feel your land is in good hands with you. Ps you may not realize it but you are wise way beyond your years. I look forward to your videos keep up the great work and also you have a great father. God bless and enjoy your day.
As always thank you for sharing your exciting day. I’m always so happy to see your show pop up. Hopefully all goes well the rest of harvest. Blessings to you all!

Kate when you said you were fourth-generation and you thought about you were working the same land as your great-grandfather this had a special meaning for me because I am also 4th generation on my family farmland.
Love the upbeat attitude, its so enjoyable to watch. Can you give us a test weight and average yield? It may be a trade secret, no worries if you dont care to share. I am 30 miles west of Bismarck in an extreme drought. Small crops have been baled up. Soybeans and sunflowers would have a chance with a shot of rain but it just wont rain this year.
Thank you for your kindness!! I will see what the weights are. Our harvest is not great. We are down at least 50% for yield. We are in drought too. I hope you get some rain and your sunflowers start smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
