      Thanks for the kind words! 🙏🏼✨ the goal has always been to inspire people to get out there and practice the craft. Never to "sell you" on a particular piece of gear, but to make people think, and feel.
      Hope this video was somewhat useful or interesting, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, and for watching! This is a very small channel and I appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts!

    I own an XE2s and a hot shoe thumb rest made a huge difference in terms of comfort. I can carry the camera all day without fatigue now.

    I'm looking at both of these at the moment and in a weird way, need someone to make my decision for me! I'm heading towards the X-E1 at the moment, because it's a bit smaller and cheaper, so I'll have a bit more cash to spend on a nice lens

    Back in the day, I shot over 80 weddings with an XPro1 and 2 X-E1s with the 18mm,23mm & 32 Zeiss Touit. Over a decade later, and having shot Leica...I just picked up 2 XPro1s to re-experience shooting them for fun instead of for work. Zeiss diopters and the f2 WR Fujicrons have made them even faster and more enjoyable this time around.

    Great job Jorge. I have the Pro1 along with the X-M1 and X-E2. Love all of them for different reasons. Since I have many manual lenses some of which are not super sharp, it always helps to focus peak them using a view finder instead of a screen. However when I know the lens to be predictible and sharp and I want to take some street shots from the hip or the curb, the X-M1 never fails me w/ its flippy screen.

    I completely agree with your thoughts. I have both cameras (since their original release) and they are fantastic. Different type of experience using each one which is why they are a joy to have. Thank you for the excellent video comparison, Jorge, keep up the great work. More of these videos will be welcomed.

    After 50 (fifty!) years of photography, mostly analog of course (24x36, medium format, large format), and some digital years too (APS-C, FF) I one day acquired a Fuji X100T, and that was a real game changer ! I immediately loved the rangefinder style, the size, the OVF/EVF, and the image quality including film simulations. After few years, the single focal length became an issue though. I was missing the versatility interchangeable lenses gives. I looked around and finally acquired a X-PRO1, mostly because it has the same sensor as the X100T. Very quickly the bigger size became a plus, and the interchangeable lenses as well ! In fact, that size of body better fit my hands. I acquired also the Fuji 35mm f2, and together with the X100T that gave me a great 23mm/35mm combination. After a while though, I realized that some of the X-PRO1 features (autofocus, viewfinder, no ND, focus peaking) were clearly behind the X100T ones, and so I decided to upgrade the X-PRO1 to the X-PRO2. I found a "like new" copy and I've been enjoying it since then. I love the focus peaking on the XPRO2, specially with third party lenses like the TTArtisan 50mm f1.2, also the 1/8000 shutter (since there is no built-in ND), the weather resistance, the better AF, the better EVF/OVF, and the ACROS film simulation. My preferred camera now ! And I cannot go out without it ! But I kept the X100T, and will ever; I bring it with me when I need a small camera I can stick in my pocket ! So, I agree with you Jorge, one needs to figure out the size and features that better fit their photography. Thanks again for your video !👍

    super comparison 👌🏽 🌹 just the right type of details.. as i continue to refine the essential features/functions i look for in a cam, i find that built-in flash is one of those critical functions because as the old adage goes, the best flash is the one ….

    I love these videos, thank you. I have an xt3 and had a couple x100, including the V,and they just never scratched the fun camera itch, so i sold them. I bought an Xe-1 and LOVED IT! Great photos, super film like color, great black and white and most importantly fun to shoot. I reluctantly sold it for the x-e2 mainly for the wifi and red focus peaking. Either of these cameras are great values and will definitely bring a smile to your face. They are lacking in nothing.

    This is exactly the choice I'm trying to make! My head says the X-E2, as it is the same price and is smaller and lighter, but my heart hankers after an optical viewfinder and the solidity of the X-Pro1. Enny-meeny....

    I've owned both and, honestly, I always had more fun using the X-E1, although the X-Pro1 had a few more interesting features. Both cameras produce photos with great colour tone. Not to mention the great Fuji lenses!

      Right, I didn't like OVF so I used X-Pro1 just like an X-E1. So there was no point in that big camera if the cute X-E1 / X-E2 exist.

    Hey ! nice change of pace in the video production quality compared to the tradition talking head set you've had before!
    Also, I might sound like a broken record, but if your main goal in picking up a Fujifilm camera is to adapt vintage manual lenses, then I'd suggest to take a look at the X-T1 over the X-E2. Price is similar (at least in my country), but the displays of the camera are much better for manual focusing (the EVF is huge, it's the same unit they used in the X-T2 later, so OLED panel that has close to no lag, huge magnification and good resolution even today. Back panel is about the same quality as the one on the X-E2, but is tilting up and down, which might be a big benefit for waist level shooting. It also has a dedicated button for punch-in magnification to get the focus right). Of course that's if the form factor fits you as it is a bit larger than the X-E2 and if you don't mind the SLR placement of the EVF.
    I whished I there was a diopter dial on the X-Pro 1 ! If it was the case I would have picked one up already. I don't know why they didn't bothered not including one, the X-Pro 2 has one without much compromises

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому

      Thanks, friend! I'm trying to make better videos and to level up my production, still have long ways to go, but I'll do what I can little by little 😁
      I do hear great things about the X-T1, but you probably know how I feel about non-rangefinder-style cameras. But I might give the camera a try and just do a disclaimer about the viewfinder in the video. Although is not the best match for me, it may be a match made in heaven for someone else.
      What are you shooting with these days? are you cycling between different cameras at the moment? Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment! Cheers 🙌🏼✨

      @@Jorge-Perez I'm still rotating between my X-T1 and X-T2, using the latter for the vast majority of my work
      I used to be a Nikon shooter though, and still had old vintage glass around so I recently picked up a D700 for cheap, and it's well worth the investment, I've been enjoying it a lot lately ! Definitely a change of pace from Fuji that could be refreshing sometimes

    For the first generation sensor I went for the X-E1 over the X-Pro1 for a point you mentioned, the lack of a diopter as a glasses wearer, plus also the price advantage of the X-E1 which only cost $120 in my case. I have an X-Pro2 as my premium ILC body.

    I liked the video. I own the X-Pro1 (bought it used several years ago). I also own the X100T(first Fuji), XT-20 and XT-2. I find myself not using the X100T very much, because of the fixed focal length lens (although, I own the WCL and TCL, which I find to be a waste). I find the X-Pro1 a little too heavy and large. I am considering selling my X100T and buying a used X-E1 (2 or 3). I think I will like the X-E series better as an alternative to the X100T.

    I have/had several camera's but I downgraded. Only camera I never sell is my x-pro 1. Not too big, large enough for a good grip. I just bought the ttartisan 27mm lens af. With a square hood it feels nice in the hand. Reminded me of my yashica slr. Although it is RF style. Great colors. Black and white. I don't need the newest of the newest. That's the problem with digital nowadays. 8mp is enough. This is 16. So great. Cheers.

    Thank you. I always look at you with pleasure. And you didn't talk about screen resolution. 🤷‍♂ And one more thing. Tell me don"t you edit your jpeg at all? I don't understand how you get such a picture. I need to know!!!

    • @Jorge-Perez
      @Jorge-Perez  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry about that, I never really use the screen, the viewfinder is all I need 😅
      And yes, I shoot everything in-camera and I don't really edit my photos (I might do very small adjustments like center the image, but no exposure correction or changing from colour to B&W etc).
      That is part of my street photography philosophy, to try to get everything I want In camera, it's not easy, and it really comes down to how your exposure and having customs simulation profiles that work well with your style of shooting.
      I expose for the highlights and try to make my shadows black, I also have profiles that give me more flexibility with shadows, but the key thing is to always expose for the highlights, and never have any blown highlights.
      Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers 🙏🏼✨

      Probably not as good, these are the first gen cameras from an era where most companies were full on the DSLR age. That being said, If you shoot with the back-button focus as I do, you eliminate most of the hunting for focus and slowness.

    Those two cameras would Look much Nicer if they have Purchased in Mint Condition without any scratches. It hurts my eyes when see both have scratches and dents on screen, in corners, in front, in bottom etc. That means the person who owned this before you (or malbe you) has Abused Used and Don't take good care of his Gear. Don't mind the Cost to get Mint Condition instead of buying cheaper price with too many scratches for discontinued Retro Cameras...

    None of them. Tried both. These cameras feel too old.. XE1's EVF is abysmal. X-pro1 is too expensive for what it's really worth it's better to get an XT2 or X pro2.
