i actually cried so many times watching this show. parents just hit too close to homs man. it was delivered so well. i really related to missing your parents and not being able to see them for long periods of time.
Time travel is not even the biggest conundrum in the show. The particular form of time travel uses mind control/possession, which is kinda a bigger deal than the time travel itself. Because a big part of the show is how the thoughts and feelings of the affect Cheng and vice versa. It makes the show more psychological than most time travel which focus more on details of events and history. Which is good because it really grips the heart.
What i like about link clik are they realistic really human in character i mean thats what real human gonna react to problems, people are completed the emotional rollercoaster in story, and in the same time the character itself not over react. Maybe it will be less entertaining for many people, but for me who are tired of seeing anime patterns that must be admittedly kind similar lately this feels refreshing
literally this donghua is CRAMMED WITH CLIFF HANGERS. IN EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. I don't know if I should hate it or love it, but this is one of the only anime/donghua that I binged through the entire series in a day. So damn worth the time.
It was incredibly frustrating to find UA-camrs that talks about this show. So thank you for reviewing it! What a show. And by the way you pronounce Cheng Xiaoshi fine :)
For me, I found it similar to Violet Evergarden with its episodic nature and telling other people’s stories other than the lead[s] and having and over arching plot at the end of the season.
link click was the first 10/10 anime for me, i love it and its so slept on. originally i was just bored and saw the neat art of it on animelab so decided to give it a go, didn't expect much just something to past the time. i didn't realize it would literally become one of my most favourite series
I had never watched a donghua until I stumbled upon this one by accident. I can now safely say that it’s my new obsession. I cannot express how much I adore this show! … … … … Also, I’m a simp for Cheng Xiaoshi🙃
The art is just very pretty, and the ending of season 1 is just- gah. Tho off topic but the songs is bop, like dang the OP AND ED is so nice. Honestly what makes me like this donghua so much is that yes they time travel, but not like most other, the main character time traavel to other person AND have the personality and memory of that person. Making the conflict more heart breaking, knowing what happen yet you can't change the past, or it'll ruin your own timeline.
I'm happy to see someone finally say this!! Like for real, Link Click is so underrated, it should be illegal!! Hopefully more people can appreciate this gem soon, as it deserves because its a masterpiece👑
Just finished this anime and holy hell. Im so shook. The beeping before every episode cuts to the ending?? Super hype. The art? Stunning. The characters?? I love them all so much. I love how emotional the dark haired guy gets. Ugh i wish i could get these songs on spotify
I really love seeing this show get some mainstream anime love. It deserves it. The artists and producers deserve it. Very happy that they announced S2 is already in production and they plan to drop us little gems in the meantime.
if funimation and wakanim didn't buy this anime, i think it will only know by very small group of people. Most west anime stream provider don't buy many Chinese anime. I hope link click will change the situation. But another issue is that there is not many Chinese anime has the high quality like link click. So I also hope on the following time will have more and more.
yess!! I've been watching Link Click since it premiered, and I've barely seen anyone talk about it until these last few weeks after around episode 9, I'm so happy that it's gaining the audience it deserves! It's absolutely incredible, I've been fixated on it for weeks. #20 on MAL? INSANE! And so well deserved. It's a masterpiece in it's own right, and I can't wait to see more and more fans come and find it. I can feel it coming, especially after finding this video, which I loved!
From April to July, I witnessed Link Click skyrocketing from #200+ to #20 on MAL! Odd Taxi is also fantastic! And yes, Anime Culture Corner, the biggest and bestest youtube channel felt it as well lololol. Loved both shows and your videos!
I watched Odd Taxi and while is good and all it disappointed me a bit. Video here talked like Link Click was successful in telling a really hard to tell story involving time travel mechanics and I agree. There where moments when I feared was seeing plot holes unfolding, that the script had limits, but gladly it was just during the moment and later scenes filled those roles. Oh, I was talking about Odd Taxi. Despite having no such complex mechanics, being "just" a story with and ensemble cast, there where at least two moments where the story very clearly went too far and forced it's hand to make things happening, those moments removed a lot of enjoyment and decreased my trust in the script.
@Adam Huang Forgot to write something here about Odd Taxi. For what I understood there was some material happening outside of the episodes, so you never had access to "all the clues".
I saved this video to my watch later a few weeks ago and this week I binged the whole show and let me tell you... it's GOOD, like REALLY GOOD. Only 11 episodes but every single one had me getting emotional and excited to continue.
tis donghua is amazing like really emotional rollercoaster for me damn they need to get more appreciation. this is the anime i watched marathon without making me sleepy im so happy for this, after so many years i watched anime and get bored of it this is very good refreshment
I agrée with the vid title. Link Click is easily one of the best anime I’ve watched in years. It’s been in my watch list for a while and I finally binged it yesterday. I’m glad I waited because season two is out this summer and I would have hated to wait longer because of the cliff hanger. I loved everything about this show.
I completely agree. The fact that this is not Japanese is a huge burden for it. The Chinese animation industry has been on the rise for a decade already pumping out some extremely innovative works in recent years while the Japanese anime industry on the other hand felt stale. It’s a surprise that it took this long for a Chinese work to make a splash in a global community.
Man link click was so fucking awesome...the last 4 episodes were pure gold.. just the cliff hanger was so awesome ....like fuck...and not to forget...the sound track at the end of each episode was so fucking awesome...
I finished it two nights ago and it blew me away! Legitimately one of the most brilliant shows I've ever watched. To say that I cannot wait for season 2 would be an understatement!
Ofc it is! I love it... I was really getting bored of anime after watching it for yearSsss and I was always a fan of Chinese donghuas AND I now love donghuas more than anime despite being so underrated.
The absolute pain those cliff hanger episodes gave me, I hate my ability to get invested in side character because it’s so painful to watch the shit happen, like last episode I tried to manifest shit to happen, I won’t spoil but if you’ve seen all of it you’ll know what I’m talking about, phenomenal show I need a season 2 Jesus Christ
Insane anime, easily one of my favorites already (and I've seen a lot of anime). I'm actually triggered at how many people haven't even heard of it yet.
This show had me enticed every single episode. I cared about every single character in a way that is so difficult to do. I watched the intro and outro every episode, they were amazing!! I wish so badly this would be English dubbed, I know some people don’t like reading subtitles and think it would do so well dubbed!
I discovered thi jewel and saw it all before coming back because I didn't want to risk any spoliler hahaha very good explanation. all the points you made are reat and the Get backers part I didn't realize even when I ALSO LOVE that series. Thanks a lot for the review
I've seen link click, and I have to say it's one of the best anime I ever seen, and I am extremely happy to see that there's someone talking about it. It's really undreted. I really hope the link click will get more attention from ppl
I know how to tell how good it is... When I finished it, it took Fourth place in my Top 10 favourite anime of all time from the +240 I've watched xD It have been so long since I watched an Anime that Hooked me so fast a so strongly leaving me with that much hype. IS TOO GOOD. Solid 9.5/10 for me
You summed up everything I thought and felt so well, and then some! I'm usually somewhat stone-hearted when watching shows, but I was almost reduced to tears twice; Cheng Xiaoshi's VA did such an incredible job during those heartbreaking angst-heavy scenes-I felt his pain like it was my own! I can't wait for the second season, whenever it finally drops. Regardless, I know I won't be ready for it 😭😭
I saw this video come up in my recommendations, and since I generally trust your opinions went to watch the show before even checking your video out. Just finished episode 5 and have to say - holy shit.
Surely the biggest and bestest channel on ytube Since you're able to find these hidden gems since many channels don't these days I'll count on your reccomendations always XD
Odd Taxi is so fucking incredible I thought nothing else this year could top it. little did I know I would come to like link click even more and it came out in the same season
Brilliant analysis. I particularly loved how you compared "Link Click" to other anime with time-travel mechanics (like "Orange" and "Steins;Gate" - "Steins;Gate" is my favourite sci-fi, the best believable time-travel story, the absolute legend).
I found out about it yesterday, binge-watched it, fell in love with the art style and the characters, loved how there wasn’t a shoved in monologue explaining how to powers worked, basically loved everything about it. The last episode is a crime, even tho it hypes the next season I’m just arhaghsghsh Also the cover art (or just the official art in general) is literally gorgeous!
As we all know big animeyoutubers are not in the side of reviewing anime anymore but i think thats ok.. So this kind of contents kind of making me feel nostalgic in a way i feel happy..😅😂😁
I found the donghua through UA-cam Scamboli's random recommendation. I never even watched or knew the channel before. But I never ever would regret that random click
It deserves best anime of 2021 😩✊ so what if it's Chinese? I cried watching Link Click the message in last episode is beautiful ... :) It great I can't wait for season 2
omg thank you for making this video! I stopped after the first few minutes and decided to watch the show. Binged the whole thing, and it was amazing! I can't believe I was missing out on such a gem! (actually I'm glad that I only watched it now lol, don't think I would've survived with all these cliffhangers) And now I'm back to finish this video!
After watching both your videos on Link Click I gave it a watch and binged it all in one day. It is definitely one of my favorite animated shows this season. I know this doesn't necessarily relate to these anime relate to the theme of time travel but I feel like you may enjoy Satoshi Kon's millennium actress and NANA from Madhouse studio. Thanks again for the recommendation :)
I loved this so much. Finished it in like two days. The first episode I was crying my eyes out and felt so emotionally connected with it. Link Click was my first donghua, and I really hope the original remains popular after the Japanese dub happens next year!
It s gettin a 2nd season definitely, also, it s doing wonderful in china. It has millions of views, i think around 150m cummulatively, so its not flopping, it s just not well known in the west.
Hey I am a new subscriber. Just wanted to thank you because if it wasn't for THIS video, the chances are I could have missed this gem. Really, THANK YOU. I just binged first 8 episodes and this is a masterpiece, can't wait to watch the rest!
The episode where they played basketball has better animation than most sports anime. They were actually playing basketball instead of the characters explaining what move they were gonna do 🤣
Please please please please PLEASE talk about bokutachi no remake!!! It’s airing this seasonal rotation and is exactly like link click in the sense of it talks about a guy who goes back 10 years to change his life and make it better. Everything seems to go well at first, but without any spoilers, he ends up making things worse for some others as changing his past changes their future. It’s a masterpiece of an anime and isn’t scared to dive into the hardships of time travel, and for a hidden gem sparks the same kinds of feelings for me as link click did. Please give it a go, and please talk about it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Loved the emotions the show built up, it did such a great job getting me to care about the characters....even though I understand why they did it as creators, for me the ending took the air out of the emotions I felt about the characters from the main arc....spoiler ahead: her not choosing how her future will play out but having an antagonist make that choice for her made me stop viewing her as a character who has a backstory, feelings, desires but instead as a victim who was just unlucky...and now for the main character it'll be less about how he can do good without hurting others with the power he has but about how he can use his powers to take down the enemy
Amazing review!! I had the same thoughts about cliffhangers and how well they tie everything together and keep you invested:) This storytelling style is pretty genius and I can’t wait to see what more it has to say
I'm glad someone actually remember GetBackers because that is my first impression of Link Click. Chinese GetBackers with time travelling. I think you should mention that this anime didn't contain Yaoi. Beacuse it kinda frustrate me that I see a lot of people avoid Link Click because the cover look like a BL.
Me and my brother are fans of the main characters. I like Cheng Xiaoshi, and my brother prefers Lu Guang...so you can imagine the rivalry we had when the finale dropped that cliffhanger on us...
I agree completely! Link click is amazing and doesnt go against the rules it sets out in the start. The writer has revealed that the powers are going to be explained in the 2nd season so yeah its almost a perfect mystery, slice of life and thriller
Fun fact: Xiaoshi means hour & Guang means light... (Btw, Cheng [Xiaoshi] & Lu [Guang] is their surname, the [___] means their first name-) Theory: So does the red-eyed spirit killer's name is Hongling? Hongling means red spirit- Just me & cliffhangers: Well, technically Link Click is run by China. China's/Taiwan's drama movies/normal movies usually end with a cliffhanger. I got used to it as I watch cliffhangers every day, you look forward to the next episode/next weekday. The cliffhanger just gets you going- It's a train where it gets more confusing and confusing (like this couple gets married, cheated, separated, gets together with two siblings in the same family, yeah something like that) every single hundred episodes. Do you remember the mom in the episode where Dou Dou went missing? That form of child-act is fairly common in these real-life-actor-series or what I like to call drama movies. My prediction is, Lu Guang won't die in exchange for a much valuable thing. I don't know what that possibly might be but during these years of watching drama movies, for rich families, they usually are money. Why? They're probably broke and on the run- They don't do poor families- Well in weddings, there is always something bad that happens as a character dies (sometimes before the wedding), an identity reveals, we know more shit than we should've known, police might come in and etc- In Link Click's case, it might be some sort of power that they want. The price ain't gonna be pretty if that was the case. I would guess, it is something to change the past. A death node cannot be reversed or something. It is a major event. They might use this to their will and do something that might alternate the two modified worlds/timelines. I'm just gonna put it like this, Emma's death cannot be erased. What is done is done. Even if they want to change it, there would be no way. Qiao Ling is a character that we didn't expect would be controlled by the red-eyed. During these plot times, they will bring in a side character that we wouldn't expect to go against the protag/whoever is on the show much. Qiao Ling is one such example. We frankly don't know much of her, we just know that she owns the house, she and Xiaoshi are friends (as well as Shanshan), she made the post of the witch thingy, she was Xiaoshi's first friend and she usually gets the cases for the duo. She is basically the plot of the S1. Btw, killing off characters isn't uncommon in these movies. They kill dozens of them to make the audience more engaged in what was the reason, what would happen, and would they move on, romantically and relative wise. Sometimes, the dead will come back alive and get vengeance for the deed. This won't happen to Lu Guang, my speculation is he'll be put off to a coma. He's the most reasonable and mature character so if he's off for the moment, anything for time travel would go uncontrollable- We'll see how the tea sets :) -From a very talkative and speculative person
The cliffhangers with the outro starting in the background and then the four beeps to fully kick the outro in after a cliffhanger always makes me hype
Can't explain how much I relate to this. Always hypes you up once you start hearing that phone noise...
Those beeps man, always hits hard
Especially on the ending of episode 3 when the ball went in.
Ouran.
FR the outro makes you get all excited and hyper and wanting to know what happens in the next episode. I love it
I literally SCREAMED at the end of each episode. Those cliffhangers were BRUTAL😂
idk if i screamed but i definetly agree lol
It's my first Chinese anime and I don't regret watching it.
It's easily on my personal top 5 anime of all time. Can't wait for Season 2.

Kings Avatar is pretty lit too
I am a Chinese, and yes, it's also my first Donghua ive watched, i used to watch Anime alot, but didnt expect Donghua is this good!!!

@Brian Bruh that’s like calling all humans “Africans” just because humans originated from Africa.
i actually cried so many times watching this show. parents just hit too close to homs man. it was delivered so well. i really related to missing your parents and not being able to see them for long periods of time.

Season 2 is almost here! 14th July.
Just finished watching this, and I'm so glad I did! This is one of my favorites and I'm glad that most of the people who've watched it agree!
omg thank you for making this video!
By far one of the best anime I've ever seen.
Donghua*
I loved this so much. Finished it in like two days. The first episode I was crying my eyes out and felt so emotionally connected with it. Link Click was my first donghua, and I really hope the original remains popular after the Japanese dub happens next year!
It s gettin a 2nd season definitely, also, it s doing wonderful in china. It has millions of views, i think around 150m cummulatively, so its not flopping, it s just not well known in the west.
good
Hey I am a new subscriber.
I love the show so much. 10/10 🌟 can't wait for season 2
No.3 rules is y i effin cried almost all episode!
I can't wait till it gets the attention it deserves
Me and my brother are fans of the main characters. I like Cheng Xiaoshi, and my brother prefers Lu Guang...so you can imagine the rivalry we had when the finale dropped that cliffhanger on us...
One of the few shows that found my emotional weakness
I agree completely!
Link click is amazing and doesnt go against the rules it sets out in the start. The writer has revealed that the powers are going to be explained in the 2nd season so yeah its almost a perfect mystery, slice of life and thriller
Fun fact:
Xiaoshi means hour & Guang means light... (Btw, Cheng [Xiaoshi] & Lu [Guang] is their surname, the [___] means their first name-)
Theory:
So does the red-eyed spirit killer's name is Hongling? Hongling means red spirit-
Just me & cliffhangers:
Well, technically Link Click is run by China. He's the most reasonable and mature character so if he's off for the moment, anything for time travel would go uncontrollable- We'll see how the tea sets :)
-From a very talkative and speculative person
Been waiting for someone to make a video about it after if finish airing. Thank you!
