My favorite time travel stories definitely come from the When They Cry franchise. I read Higurashi and Umineko a while back and have been watching Gou and Sotsu airing now. It's been really fascinating dissecting Gou and Sotsu and realizing there is an underlying meta plot to the entire When They Cry universe. Having all these compelling stories nested within each other has made it an absolute treat to analyze and uncover. Admittedly, reading MANY hours of visual novels and watching a great deal of television to even get that plot is a lot, but as one of the people who has I find it well worth it.

Time Travel is one of my favorite story elements in fiction, IF done right. The thing is that it is also one of the most difficult ones to actually get right because you run into so many paradoxes, so many chances to creaet plotholes or write yourself into a corner you can't get out of. There have been shows that succeeded , or at least somewhat, like for example Re Zero/Madoka Magica/Vivy/Pandora Hearts(the manga), there have been shows that failed in that regard like for example Erased and Charlotte, and some that I'm not even sure if they actually failed or succeeded or what like the Bunny Girl Senpai movie. But among all those that tried and used it as part of their plot, the one that uses it best for me is most definitely Steins Gate, both anime and especially visual novel.

      1. When Kurisu was testing the D-Mail a bunch of times, the worldlines did not change. We know this because nobody lost their memories. The only explanation I can think of is those were too inconsignificant to shift worldlines.
      2. At the end, why did Suzuha disappear? Stein's Gate has the parallel timeline kind of time travel but she was disappeared after changing time like in Back to the Future. Also, if she disappeared why didn't Okabe?
These two are the ones that come to mind immediately. I can go back to find exact examples in the episodes in another comment. I still love the show though. is not helped that the final episode wasted minutes showing vivy time travelling to the past when the previous episode (the second to last) already having time travelled so the first minutes of last episode until elizabeth appears are kinda filler.
is not helped that DYNAZENON (which aired at the same time) managed to have a more climatic ending while still having time to let the finale slow down and feel more conclusive

When time travel is implemented where a person travels to a different period is different from that of real-world accounts and shows fantasy elements, it still makes me see it as the same world being Earth but at another time. Inuyasha is an example of Feudal Japan but with Demons and Magic, but the modern-day is rather mundane to the past. The story involves a different fantasy period but may also show that as time progressed, something happened that led demons and magic to become obscure. This reminds me of the live-action Merlin, where we see that the past of Camelot was magical, but then in the future of modern-day, it's closer to our current society. What I am trying to say is that if we time travel, it involves traveling through time, thus ending up in a different age rather than a different world other than Earth.
