Sweetwater's Don Carr presents the Morgan Amps Dual 20 Head, a combination of their AC 20 Deluxe and Abbey amplifiers. Based on the legendary AC-style amp design, you have your choice of Normal and Top Boost channels to plug your guitar into. Each channel offers individual EQ controls, while a global Cut control dials in just the right amount of bite from the power section. Speaking of which, the Dual 20 Combo can sound sweet at any volume level - simply use its Power Level control to dial back its 20-watt operation, all the way down to a bedroom-friendly 1/4-watt.

I could listen to him riff out like that at the end (with the sweet chords and jazzy stuff) Sounds so good!
I like the lows and the highs and the gain control of this Dual 20 amp. It can also make a low quality guitar that most new students end up buying and try to make it sound similar to a more expensive Les Paul but you still need to learn to recognize what you are hearing. This can enhance the quality of your guitar regardless of make, model and cost.
Fantastic Amplifier!!!!
You rock Don.
He does indeed!!
I have an RCA35 head, an AC20 Deluxe head and an MVP23 Combo. All are fantastic, no build quality or reliability issues. Joe now has BAD making his stuff so the early days issues are long gone. Do yourself a favour and own one.
Who is BAD?
Dang, that sounded like I Michael Jackson song lol

Hi.. from about 50 seconds through to about 1 min 40 .. you were fingerpicking the guitar with a fairly cleanish tone... Was that cleanish tone achieved by rolling back the guitar volume knob?
It's not explained anywhere in the vid how to get those clean tones..
Thanks!
Sweet head
Digging the EF86 side and the amp overall. Very Voxxy.
Hey Sweetwater, how often do your customers have problems with their Morgan amps? I owned one that I eventually sent back. It died on me five times, killing two AlNiCo blues and 3 AlNiCo golds. I liked the tone though. Wondering if their reliability issues have been fixed.
Had the same issue with two Sw22r’s . My 3rd one is on the way . Hopefully it finally works properly cause i agree with you the tone is great.
Yikes that’s no good. I have an SW50r that has been flawless, but it’s also one of the models Joe himself made. I own a Friedman SmallBox I bought though brand new and about a week into owning it, it died. Had to send it back and it turned out one of the heater wires for a tube wasn’t soldered fully. I wonder if maybe it’s an issue with certain builders at Boutique Amps Distribution being rushed? The good thing is they have great customer service and payed for shipping both ways to get it fixed. It’s been fine since then. Is your amp working properly now?
@@cardbored_ this was wayyy before he partnered with BAD. He was doing it all himself when I bought from him. I bought a British AC30/6TB after that. Love it. No problems.
I would strongly encourage anyone who is considering a Morgan amp to do some research. No personal experience here but between the manner in which the owner seems to conduct himself and they slew of reliability complaints, there are probably better options out there. At least that's the conclusion I came to when I was thinking about buying one.
Morgan amps are amazing
They are excellent amps!
I’ve owned and gigged regularly a Morgan sw50r for over 5 years with no issues and I love it.
For AC style tones I’ll take my Bad Cat Cub 15R Player Series. And yes, I’ve played the Morgan.
You're missing out. I have 3 Morgans. They're top notch and I've had zero issues. Any issues are in the past, before production shifted to Boutique amps distribution. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Morgan to anyone, they're fantastic.
Why does it sound farty as hell in this video?
