In-depth demo video of the Morgan Amps Dual 20. It's an amazing Abbey and the AC20 Deluxe in one amp! Choose between 12ax7 and EF 86 channels!
Digging the vibe of these two Morgan demos, man- almost a Jellyfish thing going on! Blindingly good playing and always love seeing that Hamer 12-string!
Thanks, Richard!!! I always dig the content you put up man!!! The Morgan stuff immediately puts me in that Jason Falkner, Jon Brion, Lyle Workman mode! Really inspiring amps!
Thanks Shawn just picked one up awesome
Marvelous tone and playing, as always! And such a delightful song at beginning of the video!
Shawn!! Love this man. Intrigued by this amp.
Its good to see you Shawn. Nice demo and real nice playing.
Shawn has been on my list of favorite guitar players since the Violet Burning days. One of the best out there.
Awesome demo Shawn....love your videos. Cheers from Ottawa Canada
I love it when the 12 String makes an appearance. Such a cool guitar.
Very well done! Great playing and sounds and very informative demonstration of the amp.
Next, Demo the Dual 40. I cont find a "Tubbs" quality video anywhere on the internet. Keep up the fantastic work. Love your videos bro.
Hey Shawn, thanks for another great demo. I was curious if you could or have already done a demo of your Hamer 12 string. I'm curious about the tones you can get out it. Thanks.
From Japan. Great chord voicing and progression! sort of "uplifting" feel(not sure this makes sense in English...) to me and it has been running around ~ around in my head since last night and this urged me to transcribe the chords and watched your finger positions many many times while my family were asleep, haha... Wonder if you hit the 6th string with your thumb on it. Domo Arigato, Shawn.. !
Thanks so much for watching and for reaching out with such kind words!
Sounds awesome Shawn!!!
How would you compare this to a Matchless HC-30?
Both amps have a similar tone stack. The HC-30 with definetly have more headroom and the "clicker channel" is really versatile IMO. Both really good amps.
Sounds great!
Most Axecellent!! Thanks Shawn!!
Great tone and playing as usual Shawn. Very soulful chord progression as well. Just an idea but maybe you should consider selling backing tracks as well.
Great Shawn! What is the recording chain?
I'm running the amp into an open back 1x12 cab with a Celestion Creamback. I'm using a Royer R 121 and Shure SM57 mic combo. Thanks for watching!!
Great demo and snd playing, so... what do you think the difference between this model and the AC20 or 40 deluxe other than the wattage? Because I was looking for a Vox style amp that does the Rory Gallagher thing.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm not sure that Joe is building the AC40 anymore. That being said, when it comes to Vox style circuits I tend to gravitate towards 30-40 models not so much for the sake of volume, but for clean headroom.
@@ShawnTubbs he still makes the ac40 deluxe. It’s still available on Sweetwater. Hope you’ll be back soon.
@@youssefkasim7556 Between the AC20 and the 40, I'd go with the 40. You can always take advantage of the power scaling feature.
Nice, Shawn! I love this tune, particularly the Beatle-esque spice in the musical stew. As far as the Morgan AC30 style of amps is this the one to get (vs AC20, JMI etc)?
I really love the JMI but those are a bit rare.
@@ShawnTubbs Thanks for replying. I have one that's possibly local and available, but I'm also looking at others in the Morgan line like the Dual 20, etc. I'll go play it, assuming that its still available. Problem is that its hard to decide based on your videos, because you make them all sound good!
@Shawn Tubbs what drew you to the JMI over this amp?
Fantastic
When you play a Marshall clone, it never starts sounding good until you dial up the AC/DC.
Hmmmm.... It's actually a VOX circuit. I does sound great cranked for sure!
They all sound like a Marshall to me, except for Fender.
@@jayblow77 That being said, if it wasn't for the Fender Bassman, Marshall might not be what Marshall is today.
Hey.. you forgot to demo guitar volume clean up... For a lot of guitarists who use simple direct plug amps.. such is an important part of the tone palette...!
Also.. is nice to show how the amp responds to finger picking.. rather than just the sharp attack of using a pick the whole time.
Other than that.. thanks!
hey shawn! in your experience, what gain pedal, or (type) of gain and or/distortion pairs well with an ac 15? i still haven't gotten one for my amp after 1 year purchase! thx and rock on!
Hmmm, this is too new even Morgan’s website doesn’t have it :P
Actually can hear the differences on my phone, that never happens!
I miss the smoothness of the highs.
1 preamp tube? One at a time? Not enough to do much.
Sounds great 👍🏻
