I'm onboard with this. Not overly ambitious. Leaves room for additional stuff this year if they can get to it. They have focused on actually fixing the British and with the new uniforms, faction, weapons, tanks and El overhaul I think they are doing quite a thorough job. They have be making some reasonable performance improvements and the Loadout bug does seem to actually be fixed. The new map is a good start, not bad for a first map. The new foliage whilst not a game changer is actually quite a valuable change. The winter uniforms being improved was promised previously so this is another thing being made good on. Another new map is great. I just hope it's a Warfare / Offensive and Skirmish map, not just Skirmish. If we start getting fewer full scale maps due to Skirmish then that suck! Skirmish whilst not really my thing does seem like quite a good addition in combination with Gamepass as it helps bring in new players keeping the money rolling in due to DLCs, bigger community, more full servers, and the short game length will be welcome for some people. More free DLC. Great. More paid DLC. As long as it stays reasonably authentic and cosmetic then great. Doesn't that that much dev times, adds a bit of variety, keeps the coffers full. Console server browsers. That's BIG for console players. Practice range improvements. Again not need for me at this point but if they could add in some tutorials for building garrisons, ops, really walk people through things that would be awesome. New weather variants, if dynamic and involving dust, fog, rain, dust storms, snow, sun, wind, getting a bit darker / lighter, lightning / storms etc it could actually be impactful for gameplay and be great for atmosphere and variety. WIth a game that has quite intense development for each map any thing that stretches each maps variety out a bit is a good idea. Map refresh could be pretty cool when looking at what they did with EL. I know it's not the most exciting roadmap we have every had. But it looks achievable, honest, realistic, focuses on at least some pretty important things and previous promises. If they can spend the year making smaller changes, a few new maps, polishing, house keeping, and then come out swinging in 2025 that would be fine by me. Also to do really seem to be paying attention and acting on community PTE feedback now. There coms are not too bad, and then are giving decent explanations of their though processed with things like the Mortain feedback. I'ts a pitty it doesn't have an arty / nodes rework as I think that would have really rounded it out. Plus maybe a few additional new weapons and a subfaction would have been nice.
@@Pohren_ Completely agree. One of my biggest fears after BM made a map that strayed from the heavily researched accuracy of the others, was that it might set a precedent. Fortunately it seems other maps are not going in that direct. But in the context of T17 working with what they were given I think it's a big improvement gameplay wise. But atmosphere wise it doesn't feel like a HLL map.
Historically accurate tank skins would be great. I’m onboard and excited for the roadmap given the layoffs, however I was a little disappointed with no mention of tank destroyers.
Honestly I really like this roadmap. I think it is going to be a good boost in quality for the game. The console server browser is HUGE. Be interesting to see if console can rent servers as well for TPL. Other aspect I am excited for is changing weather. Of course first though is BF1 style where you are playing Foy, Kharkov or el Alemain and a huge storm rolls in and cut visibility down to where armor and sniper are basically ineffective.
I feel like if this was the roadmap for all of 2024 that they wouldn’t have written “This roadmap ONLY reflects medium term development goals” at the bottom.
I hope they do some updates to the console version, mainly just menu and UI bugs and quality of life changes like when a vote to kick pops up, rn it locks your movement (for me atleast, like crouching sit laying down) when the vote pops up and sometimes when you try to kick someone from your group the vote box gets stuck in the top right and you can’t get rid of it unless you leave and rejoin on your friends. That’s just some small things for me.
It does say at the bottom that this is just the medium term goal of what there doing so it might change through the future months once they hit all there goals that have been displayed in the current map
the only weapon skins that people would be willing to buy and that I would like to see in the game as well would be mesh/netting for sniper rifles. I would also like them to add vehicle customization for more unique looks, for ex: netting, flags, logs, helmets, paint/camo, names, etc. I would definitely prefer vehicle skins that stay authentic.
I'm absolutely fine with that, but there are also "personal" engravings or muddied camo designs etc that I think would fit well and be easily implemented
It's hit and miss. Got on Saturday night and played with the same squad for 6 matches. Games are fun when everyone is communicating and has good command. Come Sunday and last night, one game had a squad leader communicating, and it got boring. Good to see they fixed all the bugs that turned me off last year.
Would like to have skins for: Kills on tanks and guns. Jacket with build garrisons or destroyed garrisons. The road map: QoL update + Paid DLC. My hopes is on the Paid DLC & skimish modes.

NAILED IT
Ignore my sloppy typing :) I just kind of bash it out without looking and then post without a re-read.
el alamein is too aritficial, it doesn't look like a real environment like the other maps

Hahahaha remember the one from last year... yeah

It’s a bit underwhelming but I’m glad to see they’re not over selling themselves this time.

Trying to fix the chat bug should be damn near the top of the list. A game based on communication yet half the time it doesn’t work
Fun fact Flamethrowers can take out Default Garrisons

I miss when Black Matter was in charge of the project

Some PC optimizations would be nice, most people get stutters.
After playing Mortain and then going back to the older maps you really see how terrible the grass looks on every other map in the game.
I like the idea of weapon skins when it comes to wear and tear. But definitely no camo or anything that wasn't actually used.
100% agreed

No skins! GO play BF and have ur skins.
as long as they're done realistically skins are good, not every soldier was identical and different units would have different uniforms.
