Nice one, mate! I agree with all the choices you made bar Mixed Vs Blended shadow imbuement. Your logic, as well as mine, is to use shadow imbuement to kill elite packs and trash mobs to generate tons of free energy to keep flying. Stacking +damage to vulnerable is very easy early on and you receive +20% for free, Blended Shadow imbuement will have shadow imbue chain reaction explosions doing far far more damage than 12% non-phys debuff from the Mixed talent. Yes, Mixed will let you do x12% extra non-phys damage on boss fight for two attacks every 13 seconds, its not trivial damage but honestly with inner sight up I really don't care that much about having that x12% non-phys buff on a boss fight when the vast majority of your damage is just plain physical twisted blades.
Whenever there's time, then yes please, a bow rogue, and a frost sorc. Love how detailed and well reasoned your builds are. Definitely going to try multiple of them.
Not sure how a frost Sorcerer would start...but I think it can get going at 30 when you get the 2nd enchant slot so you can have frost nova and the ice shards enchants together. Conjurations setting off frost novas so the ice shard enchant constantly fires off. Not sure how well it would do on bosses with minimal to no adds though
Cannot express enough how much I enjoy these build guides. Very well put together, well articulated, clear for anyone to understand and truly amazing job. Can’t wait to see what other content you make for the game in the future
This is the one I've been waiting for! I rarely comment on YT but thanks for all the content, videos, etc Rax. Been watching for a while but went back and watched some milestone stuff (like the 100k) as well last night after getting my D4 build fix and have come to appreciate this place you've built even more. Cheers, dude
I played Rogue in the SS and fell in love with their movement abilities. Definitely going to be one of my top picks for a main on release. Would love to see that bow guide!
Thank you so much Rax!! This was incredible, I am super excited to try this build and fully agree with your analysis. Btw, during server slam I forced myself to play a bow rogue and I didn't have too many problems, EXCEPT I was not able to kill the final boss at the Kor Dragan stronghold. I then switched to twisting blades and proceeded to mow him down.
I have to say I was following a build guide for twisting blades elsewhere and had 0 Energy at all times, with this I am full constantly. Helped me beat a boss I was stuck on :)
I was waitin for the rouge guide since your first leveling guide. The build looks awesome. Tyvm for your effort! Gettin more and more hyped as we're gettin closer to release. Even bought a new PC for D4, now i just need to assemble it and start blasting with my rogue 🤩
This is just what I needed.. Thanks Raxx. Always easy to understand and you explain the important stuff in a way I can understand and put to good use in the game.
imcredible. i almost do the same build. but the big difference was a the passive from tje twisted blade that allows to reset cooldowns… its a game changer for me. thank you
Thanks for another build Raxx, im still deciding to go for melee or ranged, even tho melee seems more powerfull, i had so much fun playing bow, if u have the time I would love a bow guide. Keep the good work man!
Great video! I think you give great explainers for your builds and give just enough info. I noticed I was a bit squishy so I’ll definitely take the advice about survivability if nothing else. You’re right about poison trap being clunky, but it helps a lot if you pair it with Blade Shift, you can get a couple of hits on the front of the pack, walk to the middle and drop traps, then dash to the furthest mob and get a huge whirling blade and poison trap combo. That worked wonders for me in the beta, but I am excited to try this build as well. Thanks!
And again, i should have followed your advise. With this Skilltree the Experience bumped so many Levels. Way easier and more Synergys than the "official" maxroll guide for Twsting Blades. Thanks for your Effort Raxx, thanks to you so many Players will have more fun playing Diablo 4, Keep it up! :)
ok thank god the review embargo is up - I can finally say THANK YOU RAXX! can absolutely recommend going the shadow imbue route over poison trap for anyone wondering - it's a lot faster, less clunkier (as raxx described the arming time - it makes it feel wonky). Plus you'll be doing a bit of kiting/moving around and its hard to get things to sit in the poison as needed.
I fokken love you, man. Lol. I went into D4 blind, played the shit outta D3 and even D2 again until release and was determined to not look up guides and builds. Well, my Rogue levelling experience was disgusting, I had an alt Necro to pop on to every now and then and was blasting shit with minimal effort, so was considering quitting my Rogue. This has saved my Rogue, though I am still levelling so idk if I will need to change it up later on. Thank you for all of your hard work. 🌸💜
I haven't had a chance to play D4 in beta which makes following guides more difficult. This guide is really well explained. I've watched it a couple of times now and it makes complete sense. Thanks for all the help. Looking forward to diving in and unfolding the story.
You da man Raxx! watching your videos boosted my game in D3 to levels I never thought I could reach, so I am following you into D4 and my choice is for sure the Rogue with Twisting Blades, loved it on the server slam.
a 50 to 100 leveling guide would be nice showing what the best aspects and paragon points to use would be nice ( paragon ) I do not understand them at all and I'm level 55 so far and this build is very good thanks a lot Rexx's Keep these videos going they are so good thanks a mill . I be lost without them !!!
This is what I’ve been waiting for. I used your rogue build for the server slam to guarantee I got Ashava killed and it worked flawlessly. Can’t wait to try this one now.
This is the ultimate build to get to t4. I used the same setup other than the chest. I used stolen vigor with high roll for 320 health per second and beat the 50 cap dungeon at 40 and 70 cap dungeon at level 58 Great guid man
I really like your melee-rogue-guide. I will be a main rogue and I definitively will have more than one eye on your build :-) Thx for putting sooo much time in all your guides.
Excellent guide Raxx! I played Twisting Blades in server slam (didn't in first 2 beta weekends) and found it fun, but as you correctly pointed out- I didn't take enough defense choices and I can clearly see your choices are better than what I took in playing.
Thanks alot for this guide. Im leveling a rogue and i followed the steps till lvl 40 at this moment, and i dont have any problems. damage is great, the selfheal and survivability is amazing. you cant die with this build, thanks for your great tips!
This is the class I was waiting for. I played all classes during betas, rogue was the most fun for me. I think I'll go HC rogue on first ladder, dodging for my life sounds fun while climbing the rungs. Stay healthy Raxx
I leveled as bow with poison trap, then I ran a twisting blade rogue so I could join ATC, it was night and day how much faster melee TBw/PI was. I did take Rugged in server slam, I thought it helped vs. Ashara. This build is well considered from my casual point of view. I approve. This will be my day 1 run. Subbed.
Recommend you get crossbow specifically for your ranged weapon as melee rogue, inherent affix on crossbow is always bonus vulnerability damage, where as bow is bonus damage to distant enemies.
Also for people wanting to go poison rogue, the haunted crossbow shadow damage will hopefully be able to roll to poison damage, sadly Darkblade has 2 affixes dedicated to shadow damage, but there is a dagger made for poison rogue called Broodmother’s Stinger, so that will be something to watch out for people finding once game releases also. Darkblade is found in act 1 and of the 2 versions on the website one says requires level 20. Haunted Crossbow has 2 versions also with one saying requires level 40. And Broodmother’s Sting has one saying requires level 50. Read into that what you want to try to determine which acts the unknown 2 come from.
Thank you so much for these videos, whilst I would like to do my own builds even then these videos are super useful just to get your build philosophy across in terms of what you should be looking for on a class and what works and doesn't, keep up the great work can't wait to see more content when the game is out!
This is a superior TB build. The addition of survivability is key. Looking forward to passing 25 with it. Really curious what you cook up for ranged Rogue. Keep up the good work!
hi Raxx! love your videos! this is my first time commeting. in your last video you were wondering why are you getting lots of action on yt, i'm telling you the answer, because you are the only diablo content creator who has good voice. Its clear, calming, funny and evereybody understands it. There are other creators who are also great as far as what they saying, but have an irritating voice, or hard to understand, especially for those who speak english as a foreign language so, keep up the good work and lots of people will be here and as of this video, i will be starting rouge, and i feel like there are some things people dont talk about with this build: 1. twisting blades -0.25 sec all cooldowns passive works very well on bosses too, so i think its the only option really, with the infinity energy you talked about, you could stab ashava about 8 maybe 10 times between animations and just by standing still the returning blades hit her every time, then it feels like you have infinit dash and shadow step as well, not just energy 2. the poison or shadow imbue debate: in the early game especially, but maybe later as well, respeccing shadow imbue to poison imbue when you are doing a world boss could be a good option +1 i will probably mess around switching shadow step for shadow clone sometimes, its such a great skill to use, that being sad, shadow step was hands down the most useful skill fighting ashava, instant teleport right under her from everywhere....cmon :D thank you! Gee
AH! You touched on something I couldn't find an answer to during the server slam. I was wondering if we were able to take advantage of the stats on the crossbow even if we weren't using any bow skills. So then it's confirmed, that we can put a legendary on the crossbow, sick!
Ty so much for this! I started levelling with empowered shot and just felt so meh. Then I tried Wudi's twisting blade build on maxroll and while it hits hard, felt kinda awkward and yeha, has energy problems. This version feels sooooo good. Like buttery smooth. I'm using far less pots and just breezing through the story now. 10/10 would recommend.
Love the detail info you provide and Maxroll is #1 site for all things Diablo. Please do a bow build for Rogue as well when you finish the ones you already have planned, I am very interested in that. Thank you Raxx!
Love these guides, looking forward to the Druid =D The stats you are mentioning to prioritize, would be good to have them in the document you are linking for the builds.
I feel like many rogue players are sleeping on Flurry. After leveling multiple rogues, Flurry rogue with poison imbuement and shadow clone to absolutely nuke bosses was by far my easiest and quickest leveled rogue. I did get a legendary that increased my basic attack speed which drastically buffed the Combo Points style, but it still felt amazing without it. But yeah, Twisting blades is pretty badass too :P but I generally felt quite abit slower killing rooms of enemies as u have to consider position to optimize it, whereas Flurry straight up one shots enemies all around you with the 360 aoe legendary, and u just plough through
people are sleeping on barrage too. it's basically rapid fire, but better with aoe. im gonna play my dual shadow poison imbue barrage rogue on launch because of how well it was performing in the server slam. i've played twisting blades, pen shot and barrage so far and legit barrage felt the best and most fun. i really wanna try a cold imbue pen shot build eventually though, but i don't think focusing on it during levelling would feel great.
very nice build and well explained step by step it has all I need im not a fan going full glass cannon so these extra points in survavibility just gonna fit my playstyle cant w8 :)
Amazing build! Makes me rethink what I am gonna main. I played rogue a lot in the betas and was never satisfied with the range option, so I would be thrilled to see if you can make a viable one.
Hey Raxx this is awesome content as always, thank you! I do have some friends that really want to play a ranged rogue build, so I know people would appreciate your insight and if you do decide to upload a ranged rogue build video, people will watch it. Have a great one!
What I notived fighting ashava is that poison trap procs your specilization super fast. I had almost 100% uptime on infinite energy. So for bosses I believe it's worth it, especially because it also helps with the stagger bar.
@@Ben_Cheng I though a bit more about it, and on my first attempt against ashava I went ranged (rapid fire / poison imbue) but didn’t even have like half of the uptime on infinite energy. So I guess it just may be a Twisting Blades thing. I think that the fact that their second hit is delayed helps with perma Inner Sight tremendously. You can spam TB during free energy period, and when it’s over multiple returning blades help charge it back almost instantly.
Hey Raxx, thanks a bunch for the guide, loved everything. Wondering if you had a chance to take a look at Mending Obscurity. 9% of health restored every second in stealth sounds insane to me, especially combined with concealment for the cc break + crit guarantee and the scosglen aspect of uncanny treachery - hitting any dazed enemy with agility skill grants 4 seconds of stealth. You can further combine that with shadowslicer aspect (dash is cast twice) and opportunist's aspect (breaking stealth drops stun grenades) - both codex of power aspects - and just get some really cool rogue gameplay. With a little bit of luck towards end game you can gain stealth by simply evading through shadow imbued affected enemies (lethal dusk), and stacking the momentum heal (stolen vigor) with the stealth heal for what I hope to be a permanent lack of dependence on potions.
Before you get Bladedancer's Aspect you can go for flurry and take Aspect of Encircling Blades from act 1, that's a good aoe clear aspect. You can spread vulnerability with flurry in this way so trashes will feel what they really are. Also if you can drop any 3 points from the tree that Raxxanterax suggests you can use Enshrouding Aspect (if you stand still 3 seconds you'll get a dark shroud orb) so you can drop dark shroud from your skill bar but since you'll get an orb every 3 seconds you'll still be able to benefit from its passives. Then you can use that 3 poitns and take an ultimate like death trap or shadow clone. Either way rogue will be rogue and rock af. Thnx for the guide Raxx.
@@Nudels99 you also don't need that much damage reduction while clearing dungeons because mobs are melting and bosses hardly can hit 1/4 of your health that skill is for world bosses
@@Nudels99 you might be right about that but while playing as flurry I often spec as CP instead of inner sight so that gives me enough time while gathering 3cp but again I only be able to see wt2 so far. Welp we'll see that soon! :)
This is definitely going to be my first and main build, played it in the Beta and it was so fun and felt really statisfying to play. I would love to try a ranged build after that
Played this build to start season1( first time playing rogue) and it was great to level with. However at level 43 I was having trouble in the capstone dungeon. Kept dying to the revenant knight dudes. I took off shadow imbune and the related energy gain from shadow kill skill and replaced them with enhanced poison trap and then took the dungeon down without dying. Maybe it was a lack of skill on my part but fact was for me that poison trap is what allowed me to clear it
Will definitely try this build, sounds interesting! In beta however I haven’t got the bladedancer’s aspect, but what I had instead is penetrating shot aspect and poison trap aspect the one which allows to put down all 5 traps while you are in stealth - that was a lot of fun. So I guess it will depend which aspects I’ll get
Bladedancer’s aspect will be available freely in the 1.0 and soon-ish. The power is locked behind Scosglen's main campaign, which wasn't available in beta. So you could probably do Act1 on WT1, move to Scosglen, and after obtaining even the basic power, bump the difficulty easily to WT2 (on 2H with the "minimum" roll is 20% return damage to 40% based on distance, which is downright massive) if you feel like WT1 is too easy.
@@ShrykeFly How do you know it's locked behind the campaign? The dungeon is named Jalal's Vigil and considered a side dungeon like almost every other dungeon in Scosglen. I don't know the answer but would like to know why people keep saying this.
@Michael C the point being that it won't be RNG based to obtain the aspect(won't take countless runs to obtain). You can get it after clearing the dungeon one time. If I'm not mistaken I believe that was the point.
I would absolutely love to see your thoughts on a leveling range build for rogue but even if you don't put one out thank you for all your time, effort, and content!
Dark shroud is OP…most other defensive have a time limit, but the shadows from this skill follow you UNTIL THEY ARE USED. Even moving from pack to pack the shadows will stay with you so you keep your bonuses on the move. So awesome!
Will have to see what happens through all the levels, darkshroud was mandatory to survive the odd ashava hit in server slam but I didn't pick it up the previous beta and didn't die once. The poison trap with either its subskills or legendary powers (I forgot) can make you turn dazed enemies into knocked down state where they are totally helpless sitting on their ass on the ground for quite a while. It allows you to shred elites for free.
Definitely interested in a bow build for Rogue. I messed around on beta with it and Shadow Imbuement. Felt pretty decent but im by no means a theorycrafter.

Nice build. I had similar thoughts because I'll mainly be solo need survivability for sure. Can't kill if your dead
i love it that my rogue build is nearly the same as yours.I dev not wanna play traps
Rax have you considered adding the paragon pathing for your builds?
Just what I needed. Thank you.

Bow build, Bow build, Bow build!!!

Hey Raxx, appreciate all the guide videos! A Bow build (either here or on Maxroll) would be awesome if you have time for it. :)
Agreed! Bowmaster Build please! and Thanks In Advance (T.I.A)! 🏹💜
I love that you’re prioritizing survivability and quality of life. Very smart, the game will be more fun!
Last Diablo I played was Diablo on PS1. I picked it up few days ago and Im using your rogue build. Thanks for this. I appreciate you my guy
I followed you during Diablo 3 and I will continue to follow you for Diablo 4. Your videos are clear! Thank you
I have to say I was following a build guide for twisting blades elsewhere and had 0 Energy at all times, with this I am full constantly. Helped me beat a boss I was stuck on :)
I ran this build during server slam (alternating imbuments) it sold me on the rogue. Very smooth and very fun. Thx for the info again, Rax!
Amazing build Rax, i cant thank you enough for the smooth gameplay of this rogue. Love it! Keep on rocking!
I was waitin for the rouge guide since your first leveling guide. The build looks awesome. Tyvm for your effort!
Gettin more and more hyped as we're gettin closer to release. Even bought a new PC for D4, now i just need to assemble it and start blasting with my rogue 🤩
Would like to see leveling/endgame/meta bow build for rogue sometime in the near future, thank you Raxxanterax for all the focus on Diablo 4 content!
This is just what I needed.. Thanks Raxx. Always easy to understand and you explain the important stuff in a way I can understand and put to good use in the game.
I was curious how those epic Twisting Blades builds worked, this is a great explanation (as always!)
Thanks Raxx! I'm definitely going this route instead of the poison rogue I tried during the betas. This build looks OP!
One thing i should say, whenever i watch your build/class guides, it really inspires to play that class/build :D, the way how you describe everything
imcredible. i almost do the same build. but the big difference was a the passive from tje twisted blade that allows to reset cooldowns… its a game changer for me. thank you

Thank you Rax! It's exactly what I want and the video exactly repied my question about what melee Rogue needs any damage from the bow.

No one explains it better! Keep these videos comin, Rax! Appreciate all the guidance and will likely be giving this build a shot!

Love these guides, looking forward to the Druid =D
The stats you are mentioning to prioritize, would be good to have them in the document you are linking for the builds.
But yeah, Twisting blades is pretty badass too :P but I generally felt quite abit slower killing rooms of enemies as u have to consider position to optimize it, whereas Flurry straight up one shots enemies all around you with the 360 aoe legendary, and u just plough through
Not to mention that flurry legendary did not even work properly, it only gave you the damage and not the AOE.
Fast auto attack or throw small shrapnel. The skill animations for both are next level. How will people choose?
@Enso _ don't know what you're talking about , I played all the betas and it turned into the aoe version every time ...
@@bgnin The aoe effect definitely worked for me 100% of the time.
people are sleeping on barrage too. it's basically rapid fire, but better with aoe. im gonna play my dual shadow poison imbue barrage rogue on launch because of how well it was performing in the server slam. i've played twisting blades, pen shot and barrage so far and legit barrage felt the best and most fun. i really wanna try a cold imbue pen shot build eventually though, but i don't think focusing on it during levelling would feel great.
Yes we would definitely love some bow builds, really appreciate your hard work fam
most detailed and easiest to follow build guides! more power to you good sir!
great guide! use this build in server slam 20 lv cap, it just feel right when using this build. keep it up!
This will be my build for sure. Twisting blades was crushing in the beta. The other classes just didnt compare IMO
nice build man, i am realy looking fwd to the bow build :)
very nice build and well explained step by step it has all I need im not a fan going full glass cannon so these extra points in survavibility just gonna fit my playstyle cant w8 :)
can't wait for rogue, it's going to be my single player build while i'm not playing with friends. this video will be very helpful in the future
Amazing build! Makes me rethink what I am gonna main. I played rogue a lot in the betas and was never satisfied with the range option, so I would be thrilled to see if you can make a viable one.
Awsome guide and definitely what i will play when early access is starting
Awesome guide! Thank you! I’m definitely interested in a ranged guide. I really enjoyed ranged during the beta.
YES THIS IS WHAT I WANNED. I WAS WAITING PAST THREE DAYS, and all day today!!! aaaaa this is ittttt give me diablo right now !aaa
Hi Raxx. I definitely want a bow build option. So if you have time before the game goes live then I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Hey Raxx this is awesome content as always, thank you!
I do have some friends that really want to play a ranged rogue build, so I know people would appreciate your insight and if you do decide to upload a ranged rogue build video, people will watch it.
Have a great one!
OK I'm about lvl 40 and this is definitely a better build than straight damage. It went from hard to stay alive to.. Easy mode. Thanks Raxx
I vastly prefer the Dark Shroud upgrade that gives you movement speed. Feels amazing when playing through the campaign.
Bow build as well would be awesome!
this is just what i was looking for. im a sucker for QOL over being a min maxer. smoother class is funner to play which lets me play longer.
Yes, a Bow build would be super nice to have!!
What I notived fighting ashava is that poison trap procs your specilization super fast. I had almost 100% uptime on infinite energy. So for bosses I believe it's worth it, especially because it also helps with the stagger bar.
I also had almost infinite energy without poison trap. Check out my Ashava video!
I used Twisting blades with Poison Imbuement for Ashava and still had nearly perma infinite energy. So maybe it's a poison thing
@@Vherax that's a good observation. I wonder if the poison ticks actually help with the inner sight generation
Sounds like the pvp king, if they can't see you
I'm all in for rogue for first playthrough. This was the class I did NOT play during open beta / slam. So, looking forward to a fresh style.
Kinda hate giving up on flurry since you get the aspect really early from a dungeon
Thank You Raxx this was the build i was waiting for all set now for launch 🤣
The Problem is you will not stand still for 3 Seconds...
@@Nudels99 you also don't need that much damage reduction while clearing dungeons because mobs are melting and bosses hardly can hit 1/4 of your health that skill is for world bosses
@@johnveritas8904 in higher world tiers you will need this dr i think.
@@Nudels99 you might be right about that but while playing as flurry I often spec as CP instead of inner sight so that gives me enough time while gathering 3cp but again I only be able to see wt2 so far. Welp we'll see that soon! :)
I love bow builds that zoom zoom the endgame in PoE, hope we can get something like a classic Tornado Shot build in Diablo 4.
This is definitely going to be my first and main build, played it in the Beta and it was so fun and felt really statisfying to play. I would love to try a ranged build after that
I was waiting for this build. Thank you ❤❤❤
Me too, thanks Raxx
Me too 😄 twisting blades power in act 2 let’s goooo
Played this build to start season1( first time playing rogue) and it was great to level with. However at level 43 I was having trouble in the capstone dungeon. Kept dying to the revenant knight dudes. I took off shadow imbune and the related energy gain from shadow kill skill and replaced them with enhanced poison trap and then took the dungeon down without dying. Maybe it was a lack of skill on my part but fact was for me that poison trap is what allowed me to clear it
This is exactly the rogue I played in the betas. I can confirm that this is the best way to play it.
Will definitely try this build, sounds interesting!
In beta however I haven’t got the bladedancer’s aspect, but what I had instead is penetrating shot aspect and poison trap aspect the one which allows to put down all 5 traps while you are in stealth - that was a lot of fun. So I guess it will depend which aspects I’ll get
Absolutely true. Bow generally and piering both clear faster until aspect imo.
@@ShrykeFly you can probably just mark the dungeon and walk...
@Michael C the point being that it won't be RNG based to obtain the aspect(won't take countless runs to obtain). You can get it after clearing the dungeon one time. If I'm not mistaken I believe that was the point.
Played a Rogue during the server slam and had a blast!
Thank u Bro love u ,playing rogue first up then Barb see u there man i'm hanging for this....
I would absolutely love to see your thoughts on a leveling range build for rogue but even if you don't put one out thank you for all your time, effort, and content!
Thank you so much. Going to try this on Friday🎉
Dark shroud is OP…most other defensive have a time limit, but the shadows from this skill follow you UNTIL THEY ARE USED. Even moving from pack to pack the shadows will stay with you so you keep your bonuses on the move. So awesome!
Great guide! And yes to bow build guide.
