The base colours & white have to be wet

I think we should not press on it hard right?
I haven't tried it yet, but I think we should keep the brush loose and not pressing.
Though can I do this with gouache too?
I did this 3 different times and it kept smearing and looked like a big blob of nothing..do i just wait til the paint dries?
Did you keep the canvas wet 1:15 here?? It's not working for me
