I really appreciate this video. I just purchased several of these plants because they are so cute. I have a non co2 tank and now knowing they won’t do well in my tank will find a friend that can take care of them properly. Much better option than to watch them struggle for a few months, take up valuable tank space only to have them die. I just subscribed to your channel.
I just discovered your videos this morning and after watching a them, I am really eager to push myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to landscaping, delicate plants and Co2. THANK YOU 😊 Keep up the great work and I look forward to your future videos. Take care and have a great day!!
The mother plant of my downoi grows side shoots every now and then while it's height had reach more than 5 inches in my tank. loving it's thick stem too, truly an easy plant to grow in a tank with high light and good amount of CO2.
Pretty accurate information, thanks! I have a 3 gallon high tech tank and it grows super fast under the right conditions. I have a couple crowns under high lighting then moved it to under my xmas moss tree and it just stayed at that same size while the other crowns planted under the high lit area out grew the ones under low light.
Hmmm. I don't have a high tech tank by any means. No CO2 at all, just light. Started this plant 6 months ago from 3 specimens. Now I have half of the 120 litera tank bottom self propogated with this plant. Grows like a weed. Really beautiful, lush, stout and low. Yours seem to stretch towards the light, mine stays low, forming pogostemon hilferi medow. I am going to cut it back now. Happy growing!
Nice! Is it easy to transit the tissue culture ones to submerged? Was told to first tie to wood to let it get used to the water before inserting roots into substrate
Bought one today, i love this plant. The green colour is amazing. Running Co2 and bright light, curious how this plant will develope. Thanks for the info!
+dmachado11 I used BML dutch XB series and the 10K series on this one. But then BML has stopped producing aquarium fixtures to focus on horticulture lighting
Hi Dennis, do you have downoi in Ro water tank? Any experience with that? I m setting up a new shrimp tank with ro water and I wonder if they would do well.
I've bought 2 different batches of the in vitro tissue kind and both have melted heavily when planted and a couple weeks later some come back alive. Is this normal for the plant as it doesn't happen with any other of my plants that I plant?
Hi Dennis, I like this plant as it gives out a wild vibe to the whole and I've just got it for myself. I'm just wondering if it is possible to tie it on rocks instead of planting it into the substrate?
I've tried this plant before they struggled for months to take hold eventually it floated away and died😭 I'm thinking about giving it another try and another aquarium that has better flow, I've always had CO2 let's see what happens
Never really tested honestly... I find that the value that fish/plants are sensitive to is the alkalinity (KH) or general hardness (GH) as it affects osmoregulation. PH fluctuates a lot due to CO2, temperature, organic acids etc so I stopped using it as a measurement parameter some years back
I dont think that its necessarily true about the fact that the plant doesn't do well in low tech aquariums. I have a low tech aquarium, meaning i dont have C02 injection and i dont use some other stuff that most high tech aquariums use, and i have lots of pogostemon helferi in it and it does really well :)
After so many years... of which i can't remember, i love coming back to rewatch this beautiful and informative video. Glad it's still here ❣

Love the Dutch style hints to this tank.

Hey man, such a cool and informative video! thanks
Hello, please tell me what the red and orange plant is called and do they need C02

How is the plant?? How long did it last you alive??
Hello, what light do you have on this tank? Great Setup!

Do you maybe know why my pog. Helferi has very narrow and pointy leaves on top and i think they are becoming slightly yellow?
you're one of the good ones
Can it be attached to wood or rock?
I don't have co2 I hope it's gonna be ok I have it for few days but some leafs are melting
Hi Dennis, do you have downoi in Ro water tank? Any experience with that? I m setting up a new shrimp tank with ro water and I wonder if they would do well.
they do better in harder water, but if your CO2 & flow is good, they'll grow in very softwater/ADA soil tanks

+Patrick Ong Have not tried doing it long term in that style, so I'm not sure.
Stunning tank!
This a beautiful tank I must learn. What is the size and light? Thanks.
It's a 46galon; running BML leds

i have question "So if I just cut the root will it grow or die?" please answer thanks

Same situation for me, I'm thinking it's water flow that's the missing key
@@danielson4962 I just brought more. I have way better kessil lights now, I'm hoping for the best
What is the Ph level in this tank?

can you tell me where to buy all these plants in singapore?
+kittenfan You can try dedicated aquatic plant shops such as Aquatic Avenue beside Redhill mrt, or Fishy Business at Sims place
Hi, could u name the red plant plz
What is that red plant to the left?
alternanthera Reinickii mini
@@glennhidayat168 Man it looks awesome!
i know its a loot to ask but could u name all the plant in ur tank i want to copy it (same parts )
no worries it's all here: www.plantedtank.net/forums/pHosting.php?do=show&type=f&id=64969&title=LargetankV1-Optimized_Namesc.jpg
Thanks. Mine is melting after I just bought it.
Most of aquarium plants do melt when you put them in you're aquarium, just let it sit. Eventually they make new underwater leaves!

Yup, it does okay in harder water without CO2.
Amazingly distorted audio.
Ive Also found Calcium to be a big factor for this plant
yes, I forgot whether I mentioned it in the vid, but definitely higher GH/calcium make a big impact
