I now understand why they ran the grooved tyres back then. I thought that they were just trying to cover up something with the argument that "it'd be too quick to run these cars of slicks". Well. It is TOO bloody quick.
I know it's beyond ridiculous
Well the hybrid cars are even faster
@@_chaitanyajoshi well only the 2020 version. They would be very similar tbh. An unprepared Ralf Schumacher who hasn't raced for 15 years in his 2003 Williams detuned from 950 to 850hp was comparable to current one (3rd in qualifying at Austria) so I believe that the f2004 with a good and prepared driver would be in the time of the 2020 one.
Put a DRS on it and you'll have the ultimate F1 car. Unbeatable.
Well the W11 is the fastest car ever.
I watched this whole video convinced this was a real test lap. Really looks great, love the vintage filter, so authentic. What a lap
Thanks man 👊
What post-processing filter did you use to achieve this old tv broadcast look? Or did you do it through an external program?
Me too, I just realized at the end was a game. Anyway nice playing of you, very focused 👏
The gearshift in corners was my first hint
@@uisperfectemail9720 I think theres some curves as well downsides it would slide a bit also.
The engine note is so spot on, it’s so rare (with the downshifts especially) to hear it done correctly.
Some people just drive differently I suppose but I always seem to get the shifts right, Always noticed that ahaha
bro I think he's just talking about the sound design of the car overall lmao, kunos did a great job replicating it, the best digital f2004 sound for sure
@@kryse4806kryse4806, have u seen clips from F1 2021 UNSEEN yet? Its in my UA-cam channel. One clip featuring a special teaser for Genjitsu no Yohane.
F2004 engine notes still amazing even in 2024.
That's some serious driving right there
Yeah had to go all out, Was about dead by the end of it though 😂😂😂
@@Nekrews51 Tired eyes by the end of all that concentration!
what????
@@thomashenderson3901the handling of F2004 in Assetto Corsa still above F1 23 although only marginally.
Computer game or not.
That was a hell of a fine lap.
Every braking point was perfect.
Every line was right on the money.
The car and the speed made me think of Michael Schumacher.
Miss you , Michael.
I think many many from us miss Michael!!! Best wish
In places it looked like the fast forward button had been pressed. Great job, I'd love to see it from cockpit view aswell.
Good lap although there were hints of going wide a couple of times
Na. What separates this from real life is the gear changes & corner approach. Other than that it was pretty good.
Wippermann was not well driven.
8 years later and Codemaster still cannot make a game so perfect and good looking !
Try 12 years...
This game is 12 years old?
Assento Corsa é da Codemaster???
@@gynspeed777 N mas ela que faz o jogo da F1
WAIT. THIS IS A GAME??? I THOUGHT I WAS WATCHING A REAL DRIVER!!!!
that car is so bloody fast around ring
Yeah it’s scary
@Abdo Shalabi YT9 it's more than it's like a learjet
Too fast, unrealistic I'm sorry. Bumps and fast changes at high speed would upset those cars, so in reality you couldn't drive like that.
I thought I was watching a real F1 car on the real track 😳
This was in my recommendations, I knew nothing about the channel.
10/10 for realism and presentation 👍🏻
And yes it looks fast!
Glad you enjoyed it man thank you 😎
Hah yeah me too. I didn’t realize until I read the comments
I had to look carefully. Actually, the shadows on the tyres when going through dappled light and stillness of the hands on the wheel were the only ‚obvious‘ give-aways.
Respect for driving so well around this track with that massive speed
Yeah was kinda hard to keep up with the track but done enough practice so all was good 😎
@@Nekrews51 :)
In the videogame..
@@TheMatpsboth in game and real life its so hard to make that ridiculously epic lap time.
This channel is MASSIVELY underrated. GREAT JOB NEKREWS! Keep it up my man!
Thanks man really appreciate that, Will do 👊
Emperor Michael Schumacher would be proud of you for this beautiful lap. This car, this legendary F2004 shows why Michael was, is and will always be the greatest, fastest F1 driver ever.
Sweet sounds. I love it when lifting right off the throttle means that the engine revs drop waaaaaay down from 18,000+ to a mere 12,000... 😁
This game seems to nail the physics of an F1 car despite not even being an F1 game. Much better than the cartoonish/arcade-y modern F1 games I've seen, they seem to prefer holding the player's hand instead of going for accuracy
The F1 has a lot of audience and is at the top of the motorsport rankings. So of course the F1 game has to be made for casuals, not as a sim.
THIS IS THE SECOND VIDEO THAT I SEE AND I CAN ONLY SAY THAT MICHAEL WOULD BE PROUD..... incredible man absolutely amazing, and the driving skills are on another level man.
DANKE NEKREWS 51
Thanks man that means a lot 🙏
I‘d pay 1000 dollars only to watch a Formula 1 race at the Nordschleife on the TV.
Better in Rubles
My very first F1 race was this track when Lauda crashed...
Insane how far games have come. Never would have thought this possible
This is just a car mod in a 2014 game called assetto corsa and the creator changed the saturation and many others
It seems that someone has beaten all ever existing physical laws. This was an awesome lap. My deepest respect for the driver. Simply to get this all together visually and find the correct points for breaking and steering needs great feeling and experience 🙏
Mate, this has to be one of the MOST INTENSE videos that I have ever watched! Hearing that V10 engine scream is just pure music! Keep it up!

Yeah it's just heaven isn't it and thanks man hope you enjoy the content i do :)
Merc W11 can only dream to be like this BEAST.
would be a good race
it would easily beat the 2004 because it has more downforce
Well, we all know that the W11 would win whether we like it or not.
@@periklaskyriakidis6064 man, just put slicks and DAS on the F2004 and it'll destroy W11.
@@koko400gt nah still won’t beat it
THAT was awesome many thanks for your time and effort putting this vid together.
The car's setup was really good. It handled bumps, kerbs and even the caroussel very well.
@Dacia Sandero guys he will be fetched in a 10 kilometer radius. You go off track in this car on this track, you 100% die.
Also I am pretty confident that no human is able to take this physical stress even if you stay on track. Some elevation changes really look brutal af.
Its a game not real
Yeah softer spring set up, while trying not to bottom the car out with down force. Tricky balance.
@@s727rseems like its important factor too.
Absolutely insane. What a lap, man, congratulations!
Appreciate it man 🫡
You have some serious skills! What a fantastic lap and I just know how difficult this is to do around such a long track. The downforce is insane! Think somethink like the Valkerie will be the first real road legal car which will sort of pull it off. Epic!
Love this channel! Deserves more love! Great videos!
Holy shit! I just sat and watched the whole thing thinking it was real 😅 the realism is insane, which is also how I'd describe your driving, that was one hell of a lap!
Flat atround here, flat around here, flat around here, flat around here...
F1 cars have to be so precise with their lines around here. Good to watch. Making mental notes 😁
Whoever’s driving that Ferrari F1 monster (VR or simply using some controller) has the entire cornering of the Nurnburgring really good stuffed in his/her head. Just taking the corners after the first straight full throttle is IN-sane. Cool upload
The concentration to do thus is huge.
I was struggling and I was just watching it.
F2004 with current super soft tyres is the fastest F1 car ever build! The qualify back in 2002 -3-4 was with fuel until the first pit and the tyres was grooved and a lot more, more harder than now !
I don't know which tyres they modded on this car, if those are the narrower ones that were used from like 2009-2016, or the wider ones from 2017 onwards, that would be an interesting thing to compare as well...
I agree! But they are softer and slicks! Alonso said before 3-4 years that if the current soft slick tyres modded in a 2004-5 F1 car , will be 4-5 seconds faster , it depends the track !
At the straight I felt like it could use a 9th gear.
What game is this??
@@faisalnoor7081 the teams back then wanted 8 gear but the fia restricted it, the same with why they must use groved tyres, too slow them down, f1 cars at the time where going too fast so that the drivers safty couldn`t be ensured anymore, thats why they changed it. todays f1 cars are not build too perform at maximum performance, safty comes first thats why the regulations in modern f1 is so much restricted. drs and modern slick make them faster not the performance of the car itself, they are downgraded versions of what is possible, thats why 2000 - 2006 f1 cars with slicks could be much much faster then modern f1 cars.
alonso proved that in his 2005 championship car, on an dirty track, with no specilised setup and no driving on the limit in 2020. he was just cruising around and having fun nothing more, and still he was only 2 seconds slower than the pole time of that year.
if you seen the training qualifiing and races in the early 2000`s F1 you can imagine that he easily could drive 4 seconds and more faster than this. because you can clearly see that alonso is not even close too the limit of that car and his driving skills, he was just having fun not pushing it.
Those softs would be gone in the first 2 miles of the lap 🤣 great driving!
Oh man, I’d put that final gear ratio one or two clicks longer
What's crazy is that someone did this on the grooved tyres version and got a 4:44 with the right tune settings.
The 2001-2004 cars are just unhinged monsters and really it weirds me out that people genuinely still doubt these vehicles.
Ralf Schumacher drove his 2003 Williams around recently with new pirelli mediums fitted. And despite the fact the laps were show laps where he wasn't really pushing that hard, the car was undertuned, the engine lowered to 850 hp instead of the race 950, underreved to a lower RPM, etc, Ralf still put in a lap that was only 4 seconds behind pole position of the modern cars...
Yeah...I think the older cars would definitely put up an insane fight if they were fitted proper slicks and slight adjustments were made to their design. Those cars were just outrageously agile.
I managed a 4:57 on a stock setup, minus softs on and adjustments to the brake bias. I could see the car going deep into the 4:40's with a good setup.
Look at modern cars, soft to medium its over 1 second...
Go back to 04 etc with grooved harder tores to full slick softs would be worth 5 seconds easily od say...
04 ferarri, being driven by schuey on todays slicks....
Unreal
What are you talking about? No sane person doubts these vehicles.
@@stefankoe Not a lot of sane modern fans these days.
Damn, you put us weekend racers to shame son! 😂
Good video. Enjoyed it. Subscribed.
That is awesome. Great lap. Great driving. The Ferrari was singing like an angel. Well done.
Jesus wept man! That was an elite lap when approaching every transition and corner at such warp speeds.
Death trap. One little rain squall over Adenauer Forst, Kallenhard, Wipperman, etc and you’re off in the trees, likely in several large pieces and on fire too.
Crazy how it’s hitting circa 330 km/h even BEFORE REACHING THE DOTTINGER HOHE…
The F2004 also lapped 10 seconds quicker than Formula Gran Turismo.
At the start I thought it was gonna be relatively close to the 919 Evo. But then I saw the length of the video…
Yeah... ahaha
The 919 Evo WR is 4:41 (held by me). F2004 on slicks is much faster than the 919 Evo...
919 Evo hit higher top speed on main straight around 30km/h higher than f2004 but it was slower pretty much everywhere else on the circuit. The f2004 car regularly went 330-340kmh even on curvier parts on the circuit resulting in higher average speed which translates to quicker time
@@jeonghopark3632 The real lap of the 919 Evo was very slow. The car can do much better (for example, it can take all the fast corners flat - going slower was just a safety thing, intentional, not the car's limit). In reality, F2004 (on the grooved tyres it actually used) and 919 Evo would do basically the same lap time. But on slicks, the F2004 would beat anything, including any modern F1 car.
@@jakubkrcma why would 919 Evo driver intentionally take the corners slower while attempting to set the track record? I am certain he was driving the car at its max limit, he probably would have crashed if he try to go any faster on the corners
I dig the 2000s aesthetic you have going on in your setup. I had it muted for a while and actually thought it was an actua footage but I saw there wasa lack of people on the track. lol
I would very like to know your lighting setup, I dig this style.
Bro change it to a 4:3 aspect ratio, drop the framerate to 24fps maybe even lower the resolution to 480p and this is PERFECT👌
Crazy lap, great driving!
Thanks man yeah it took some practice to do that ahahaha
Almost super clean with the back end stepping out no more than 3 times ! Wow.
Also, brother, you have the game setup so well.. mind sharing settings? Vid / set-up / rig?
Unbelievable car control
Caught myself pushing an imaginary brake pedal on some of those turns. Haha
Amazing run.
what a great lap, whatt an amazin car that was , so happy i have seen it on the nurburgring back than. and the sound .no words for it . thanks fotr this video.
What a $$$$ lap! That car would absolutely break in half on that full send Karusell entrance. Really, really well done!
Awesome driving my man! I want to drive as good as you someday hahahah, any tip for me to evolve my driving on sim? I use a wheel. Great video btw!
Imagine - between the lateral Gs, braking zones, and elevation changes, this track would be absolutely *brutal* for drivers in modern F1 cars...
They couldn't race 5 laps on this track
The front wheels bumping onto the kerbs gave away its a game, but holy cow does it look good.
When you consider he’s using a non direct drive setup with a pretty basic Thrustmaster kit, it makes it doubly impressive. Some top driving right there. Can’t imagine how good it would be with a DD wheel and some premium pedals
Realised it was Assetto 4 minutes in, I started doubting it when you took the carrousel. Awesome lap and the filter is a 10/10, I'm great at telling games from real footage apart but you fooled me completely.
Great driving and very fast around that Large track. I never have tried that track with a F1 car. With the high end gearing with the F1, I kind of wonder if a real car would blow up the engine going down that long straight section near the end of the lap.
Thanks for the video. Take care.
The Ferrari F2004 for me still legendary 19 years on.
The cornering speeds are just crazy , unreal.
Holy shit.... I thought the Porsche Evo looked unreal. This is just insane.
This is literally unreal lol. Just a game
WOW just wow. Ive never seen that lap before. Truley amazing.
I cannot do a single lap without crashing or driving outside track limits on this circuit. Your skill is awesome !👍
I ever done this lap without going off track or hitting walls but only after 5000000 tries.😅
That was too fast for my brain to keep up....Insane
Perfect! In my younger years I only got a pitiful 9 minutes per lap
beautifull, this cures my cancer bro, thanks for this video, makes me feel free for a couple of minutes...
Absolutely Phenomenal!
DANGIT!! That got me! The whole time I was amazed at how much real life looks exactly like assetto corsa and how committed that lap was (big yikes at metzgesfeld). Think I'll go spend some time outside...
The F2004 looked so advanced that it even runs as fast as X2010.
the problem is, it's far far easier to do a ridiculously fast lap with zero pressure or fear of injury. In real life no one could insure the driver of these cars and the manufacturers wouldn't risk a driver doing this either. The Porsche 919 Evo was a much more compliant and heavier car that was generally more safe with its 4wd.
OMG.....this is f wild.....you my sir are some bad ass driver....much respect
Damn I got a 5:53 with the F2004 but I had heavy fog on. I thought I did good but gawd dayum this guy is fast
Finally! It’s a feature!
I never thought I’d need UA-cam running on 1/2x speed to keep up 🎉
Balls of steel touching those kerbs, wow!!
For the 1st 30 sec I couldn't tell, I kept looking at the driver , that was the only give away..Awesome.
One thing that will add more realism is having the driver’s head raise and lower depending on acceleration and braking.
🤦♂🤣In a simulator that has MAJOR flaws, that is really unimportant.
That has to be the most insane thing I have ever seen.
This is one of the most exciting motorsports videos I have ever seen !😍 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁🤯
the realism is amazing!!
I didn't realize it was a game until halfway through...😳
Whether it's a game or real life, it's definitely a great driving experience.👏👏👏
Thxs, its a gift without Music, again thank U.
Wow, is a insane Eargasmic, its a orgasmic at all. What was the Record before?
Michael, I hope you are feeling better and recovering.
amazing graphics!
when Ferrari tested this car for the first time they didn't understand why it was nearly 2 seconds faster than their previous car. They thought there was a problem with the timing but they quickly realised they've created a monster
insane to see some corner in full trottle.. jeez
What a drive 👏 epic car, sound and lap!
I miss my PSP, I used to play with the F2007 in the Gran Turismo, right at the Nurburgring, and I configured the PSP as if the triggers were the paddle shifters similar to the F1 steering wheel, it was totally cardiac driving it at high speeds trying not to crash after so many elevation changes on the track. What a great simulation!!
That was so intense I could tell it was an F1 game or sim but it was still terrifying. My god what a rush....
Imagine a f1 race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife
Great lap, only left a couple of tenths on the track 🤯
That V10 absolutely freaking sings!
The corner G force here appears to be equivalent to crashing your car at probably around 70 KM collision onto a brick wall every time he turns the steering at 260 - 300 + km per hour around the bends.
If he weighs 60 KG's probably feels like 150 - 200 KG's !
This looks easy but must be exhausting work, even for a Professional 👏
This feels like someone driving a rally stage with an F1 car.
Amazing driving man
I wonder how realistic those simulations are.. Wish we could have a prime Michael drive this beauty around some of the worlds tracks with Slicks...
Holy hell that was quick! I just got my first wheel. I did this same setup last night. Nurburgring and the 04 Ferrari F1. Cannot get lower than 6 minutes at the moment. I lift a lot and also don't have every breaking point memorized perfectly yet. My goal is to get 5:40 or lower. But under 5 minutes is absolutely insanity. Lol
Braking, NOT breaking. Nothing was broken.
After some time had i realized that is actually sim racing , it looked real initially, bow makes me want to see that lap in real life
the sheer pace from the improved mechanical grip is bananas
Sat here for 3 minutes thinking that this was real life
Graphics have definitely come a long way!
It was already over 2 seconds faster than any other car at the time, with slicks Is scary
Absolutely phenomenal reaction timing‼️
👏👏👏
I could be mistaken but I believe a F1 car would not survive going down into the Carousel.
Oh no I would not. Also with the curbs, that car would have been destroyed about 30s into the video.
Everybody misses V10 Engine sound. Even MotoGP is louder than nowadays cars
The lap was mind blowing!
Can you change the graphics to make it more realistic and not a bit weird like it is now?
The master at work first time seeing this video WOW
