    You can still give guardsman orders to the entire team. You just have to use relay from the comms operative

    Sad about my pathfinders but still going to have a lot of fun doing coop with them with the kroot or vespid teams. And im excited to finish painting my corsairs!

    fellgor mangler hitting on 3+ and having +1 wound is gonna make my playgroup fear them even more 😂 instant 12-13 damage with 1 strike upon ambushing. RIP 1 astartes operative if they aren't careful!

    Salvagers also lost treat as uninjured on Ancestors are Watching and their ignore ballistics skill modifiers equipment. So getting injured hurts a lot more

    Glitchlings got a bit of a buff that I think you missed - they can no longer be selected as a valid target while in cover (as before) but it no longer says they have to have a conceal order. So it seems they can sit with an engage order behind cover and be safe

      @@GundamReviver dawg if my team is 5 inches for a turn you bet im feeling that downside. We lost control edict as a passive and gained it as a ploy which is alot worse since cp is halved at start of game now, and worse is our equpiment in general got ALOT worse. We lost free mission action and a 4+ invulv on leader. The person who designed this most likely did not test this team too much or they were too good at the game to notice a difference in playability.

      @@giovannicrespo3947 what do you mean cp is halves at start of game? Just like previous edition it's start with 2 gain one immediately for a "practically start with 3" hell from turn 2 onward the one thst doesn't get initiative even gets 2 per turn instead of 1!

      @@CanYouRollaCrit this is so sad to hear, I love the models and really wanted to buy them. Maybe I'll still get them for collection purposes...holding out hope that if the Kroot could get buffed, BoK can eventually get some love too
      Edit: thank you so much for this video, really amazing (looking through the changes manually was really tedious & I don't know enough about KT to judge the changes, so this video is a life saver)

      I am not planning on getting too familiar with these rules. The volume of change is such, that there are bound to be HEAVY balance patches needed (some immediately, some in 3 months) and the landscape is going to be totally different when it settles.
      From my point of view, maybe 10% of all the changes were actually needed. There's a lot of change for change's sake, ruining pretty stable balance of the end of KT21.

    Welp, krieg have concealed position instead of silent on the sniper despite blooded having silent 😢
    On the plus side bruiser going up to 4 attacks and the hand axe equipment might make melee krieg an actual option.

      Krueg were known for doing the mission and sacrificing bodies. But now you can get max 2vp per turn and that’s not enough. Especially when you give points to your opponent when you die.

    Blinding Aura is also little bit stronger, I think - now you are simply not valid target, not only in cover, so it will work with engage order too. And it has possibility of wasting enemy's AP (if no valid target is available AP used for shooting is not refunded).

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I got some more time to watch further and I also have a question about Rubrics - for sure will they lose APL if wander more than 9’’ from sorcerer during their activation? I know, that now APL modification is instant, but condition is “whenever this operative is activated”, not “while it is active” - and from browsing through the rules (although I had much less time with them than you), I got impression, that being activated is referring to choosing operative for being active, in essence, that it is start of activation, not any moment of it.

    The Psychomancer's Visions of Madness does not delay a units activation by D6; when an oppoent tries to activate them, you roll a D6, and if you roll their APL or higher, they need to choose a different activation. The idea is the same, but its less certain the length, making it harder to strategize around. It also makes it a worse option into Elites inherently.

    RE Warpcoven, there’s intent to reduce decision paralysis in Sorcerer configuration and spell choice. Some people will be upset by this but I suspect the majority of players will like the change and may attract more players to the faction.
    Several thematic and mechanical synergies many players have been asking for have finally been adopted. Take Savage Herd for example which extends x2 AoE buffs to Tzaangor when visible by Sorcerer.
    Tzaangor profiles offer genuine choices based on the win condition. Icon, Horn, Shield, Chainsword/Autopistol all have far more play alongside Blades.
    Rubrics finally get their 3APL (cond.) 2+ 14W 5” baked into profiles, and AiD moved to ploy with genuine value.
    Unsure whether the ceiling is lower but the lower floor to entry and synergies make them so much more playable. It’ll likely show in tournament result where cognitive burn out was a really issue for all but the most experienced players.

    A few corrections: the Wade-In ability for the axejack just doesn't exist anymore, it's been completely removed. Kroot have been a 12 operative team for a while now, was changed in a balance dataslate last edition. Poach is also UNCHANGED from last edition, it's always worked like that. Kill Broker has always been 4 attacks. The Cut-Skin is also unchanged except getting Ceaseless instead of balanced, it could always fight twice. Heavy Gunner had a 1 point damage buff to both weapons. Also incorrect about how Pech'Ra works, it goes in the enemy operative's control range & gives friendlies shooting that enemy Seek Light. You also missed the Stalker's Stealth Attack being less restrictive to use, the Bow Hunter's voltaic profile being buffed & altered to blast, & Kroot hounds not being able to Fall Back when they Gather.

      Yeah but they're a full 12 activation team no matter which operatives taken
      Kill broker was 3 attacks 3/4, now is 4/5 base at 4
      Yeah missed those but Kroot are better. Although Poach needs to be changed now due to how toxic it is with Loot and Sabotage

    First of all, thank you for putting this all together! I agree with a lot of your points. However, I feel like your analysis of inquisition is a bit harsh. A few points for consideration:
    Questkeeper - she lost FNP and only received the nerfed version with no extra wounds to makeup. She lost her balance on charge. When she would charge into ops that were quarried, she often rerolled two dice anyway so 3+ doesn’t feel like a buff that breaks her albeit it is a buff. She’s a melee specialist and they seem to be making melee specialist hit better (crimson duelist)
    Deathworld vet- lost reap 2 which actually helped me a lot in games vs hordes.
    Enlightener - was terrible, his buff puts him in the running at least
    The team lost the ability to buff pistols, which was a mainstay for leader, mystic, and sometimes pistolier. This is big nerf against mystic especially.
    Interrogators pistol is now usable but they had to do something because he is garbage otherwise.
    Ancillary: navy was the best in ‘21 edition. They nerfed that down to 5 models and made the grenadier much worse (grenades losing seek). Kasrkin are much better now hitting on 3’s and having the recon but they bring 0 melee to the table which is usually needed. Krieg are now more a consideration with the confidant and being able to get the 6th body. I don’t think any of the ancillary breaks them and just because they have so many options doesn’t mean more than 16 are actually worthwhile. With Navy taking a hit, I think they buffed the inquisition team a bit to help.
    Quarry buff is very helpful but it’s much more difficult to pull off than most teams ploys. So many teams get rerolls and accurate or piercing for just moving or being near an objective, quarry is significantly more difficult to manage.
    All that to say, I don’t think inquisition is as broken as you think, even though I do think they are a very good team.

      Unfortunately everyone lost FNP so the quest keeper never should get to hit on 3s. Currently they're extremely broken so I'm hoping they get toned down ASAP

    Sad to see the direction they went with some teams, patricularly Inquisitorial agents and Fellgore ravagers. For sure entirely inconsistent in their balancing, and the person handling the inquisition had absolutely no idea about balance.

    Im pretty disappointed so far. It feels like they over complicated quite a few things and nerfed a lot of what made some of the teams feel so fun. I mean Last edition if you wanted "B" to happen, you just had to do "A". Now its for "B" to happen, "A", "C" and "D" have to happen first. Then roll a D6......

    So, i just looked at a few teams. I will look more into it later. But a couple of things i'd like to note or get corrected on hunter clade:
    Control edict: Now it needs to chose the leader as one of the operatives. So you can't do surveyor into gunner, which is a huge nerf, like i can see not using it at all in half the games.
    Doctrinas: We no longer have anything that says that we ignore the deprecation on the first use. This is a huge nerf imo.

    Do lament the loss of Climbing Gear on the Jaegir's though I can see why they've done that with the change to Dauntless Explorer. Would have been way imbalanced to have everyone move up and have the ability to easily reposition on to vantage points. Ladders ahoy!

    Just going back to Phobos leader, it feels like a big nerf not to get 1CP for 1APL, but you get a lot in return. More likely to get initiative, then pass your activation, is really good, especially against elites. Extra firefight ploy (if not using Patient Ambush) is basically that CP right back in your lap, but without using an APL.
    Not a fan of Comms 4+ roll for an extra CP, but best guess is designers were worried it would be too strong.
    I really don't see Phobos players being super unhappy, and they're at least as strong as they were, and maybe more killy.

    I was very excited at first because i thought that the firefight ploy which removes range from support abilities would also let timesplinter teleport the target without range. On second read through i learned thats not how it works :P

    Will be interesting if day 1 FAQ moderates the Hunter Clade Deprecation (which they did towards late Edn2).
    It’s a shame Control Edict has been opened to Sicarian leaders, limited to one Sicarian for the Edict, and therefore doesn’t synergise well with the baked in Sicarian leader Canticle abilities ie you can’t have a Sicarian leader offering its Canticle benefit to a Sicarian, and Edict them as a pair. That would have played well thematically and makes more sense to the flow of the game.
    Regardless, the Infiltrator pairing can form a reliable objective bunker on Conceal (4APL 21W 4+, heal equipment, suppress Piercing equipment, suppress being targeted ability AoE 3” 40mm bases, silent+saturate pistols, etc). Mix in Scrapcode Overload ploy (APL debuff), or Omissiah’s Imperative ploy on Bulwark Doctrina (ceaseless defence dice, plus 3+ save & additional defence dice ie x4 save dice before Piercing), or Neurostatic Interface ploy (6” reroll suppression), and that’s a formidable bunker or staging zone.

    With warpcoven the sorcerous automata rule kicks in when the operative is activated so it wouldn't lose the apl if it moves away from a sorcerer.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I haven't seen the core rules to know the new way APL works, but based on the wording of the rubrics ability being "whenever this operative is activated" I would think it only checks at the start of the activation whether to subtract an APL, not throughout the entire activation. If that wording is used to mean "at any time during it's activation" I'd wonder if the Legionary Warrior can change his mark at any time, so be able to move 7 and then get ceaseless or severe to shoot. And since it's not actually an action, could the warrior change multiple times per turn?

    New ion rifle does indeed have piercing 1 while hot. It also has lethal 5+ and hot ofc. It's the standard shot that only has piecing crits 1.

    Im really not happy with the changes to chaos cult but assuming the harlequins drop gets fixed I think I’ll be fine, also man am I excited to try out the changes to nemesis claw.

    Hernkyn Yaegirs warriors actually have 4 attack knives if you pick the pistol and knife option. There’s now an actual reason to bring them, especially with the range increase to pistols.
    However, I miss the completely busted gunner loadouts for hearth guard. The Piercing 2 plasma beamer and bajillion damage magna rail were some of the most overkill weapons in the entire game.

    Thansk for doing this overview - really useful.
    Just looking at the Pathfinders PDF, the Drone Controller has some nice additions: Drones get +2" move (which makes up slightly for losing Fly), and can use Saviour Protocols for free. Remote Pilot seems pretty good too for making extra attacks or doing mission actions.
    Also, Ions do get Piercing when hot :)

    Plasmacyte reanimated Hierotek operatives only return expended if the operative was already expended this turning point, so if the reanimated operatve wasnt activated yet this turning point or it's the next turning point, you can still activate it.

      I'm bummed out, I'm currently finishing painting gellerpox and have the cult to build next as I was lucky to get the ashes of faith box and myate has inquisition, so a whole campaign with the strongest v the weakest team is going to be fun. Getting rid of wound ignoring rolls was the one thing that sounded fun with these guys. Gutted

    For the pathfinders, the drones lost fly, but they gain 2in of move if the controller is on the field. They can also do savior protocol for free as long as he's alive. The controller can also control drone multiple times on his turn. If you hit him with a plus APL from comms, he could do it three times. I think with kauyon, the orbital uplink, and high intensity markerlight, they still stand a chance. At least until the drones or controller go down. (Drone army for the win).
    Is there any clarification on the grenade specialist ability? As it's written, Grenadires seem to be able to use unlimited krak and frag grenades unless I'm missing something. (There no limit on their stats, and it says uses don't count against any limit you may have).

      All grenadiers have unlimited nades. Drones still are just okay imo

    I read the wyrmblade ploy, as only the fallback for cult agents costing an APL. Those are seperate sentences, i think.

    The Death Korps veteran oddly shifted. I knew they were going to take away FNPs on him, but reducing damage by 1 for each hit over 3 is odd. Giving him a free guardsmen order and the slight uptick on his robohand is good. It's just an overall weird shift. Feels compendiumy.

    For exaction squat your gunners e.g. the grenade launcher can shoot into combat but you can't throw grenades there. Right? And no range is specified so nobody can hide in close combat against shots from the sniper, who by the way still hits on 2+ if no typo.

    Honestly the Kasrkin changes feel like they're trying to drive Guard players to buy the Aquilons kits. The team wasn't that competitive now, with Elite Points and the Marksman being the only really reliable threats in their toolkit. Now both of those are gone.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit That takes some of the sting out of it, sure, but being able to guarantee at least two hits, if not a crit and a hit, felt like it let them genuinely threaten elites in a way that I'm not sure they can do anymore. I hope I'm wrong. I want to be wrong. I plan to play some games with them to see if I am, but my initial reaction to them on paper isn't positive.

    Support Asset from Starstriders does not work the same than before. In Season 2 it was a seperate Activation and now you do it in an operatives activation instead of a shoot action. Which is a huge nerf.

    Pleasently surprised with warpcoven. Gunners can be two but one of each. No two warpflamers;) Hierotek is a bit disappointing. No deepstrike for DM make him very awkard to use without Chronomancer who can yeet him into vantage, while he is on guard. Coincidentaly he is still the best cryptek so thats disappointing. They lost movement ploy in favor of different one that is very situational (needs constant babysitting from cryptek and apprentek which kinda lose its purpose). Small renimator is now MVP and if you let him die, you will make Silent King sad. Overall warpcoven pleasently surprised, Hierotek bit of disappointment.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit The other thing I noticed for Wyrmblade is that the Talon had the dash/fall back after fighting before, just worded differently. The actual change to him is that soulsight got split up, so you can either get brutal and balanced (if the enemy is visible) or the double strike (if they're not.) Also to get the doublestrike you can only charge 6", and have to stay in conceal so can't get ceaseless from Cult Ambush. I know you're not calling out the smaller changes to every unit like this in the video though. One thing that's nice for them is the webber finally improving from "worse flamethrower" to "12 inch bolter with guaranteed -1 APL." The leader's web pistol is only 6" but is the same, and IMO worth running now with a maul.

    "Kasrkin are fun and very good" I object with all my heart. Now they are not countering elite while their problems remains the same. Lot of squishy models with 3/4 damage and no decent melee. Plasma nerf hits hard, now they have less good operatives which are still squishy. They are just the old kroot, but with less models. Good luck to try to kill anyone with that.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit Well I hope so, I am a kasrkin enjoyer. I just dont like new dogfight playstyle implied for them. Your foregrip equip giving you accurate in 3 inches, your faction rule giving you Severe only if you shooting a ready target, so you cant save your gunners activations for the last. good opp will hide against you using smokes and terrain to be obscured and in cover. So you need to get in close range to do a good damage in abscence of AP2. You get there with your melta and plasma, you kill a model and then die. And after your gunners die you get no damage on board. Because karkin are basically gunners and their support. And new faction rule changed karkin from specialists with oh-my-god shooting to kinda jack of all trades, master of none. Not tough enough, not shooty enough, melee... in best case 4 atk 4+ 3/4. Indeed kinda like old kroot. And old kroot were the sick men of killteam.
      But in the end its only emotions and theoretical thoughts, i didnt play a single game with kasrkin still, so lets hope for the best.

    I think the Gellerpox got rather gutted. Pretty incredible they have been nerfed so many data slates and now this and still are probably a good team. The feel no pain and the "drawn to the hum" ploy being mauled is a big blow, as well as the vermin having much less utility now not being able to block or fly. How do you think their playstyle will have to adjust to reflect the new changes?

      On Into the Dark, and any layout with similarly tight chokepoints, if the other player picks razorwire and you fail your 2d6=7+ Pollute Stockpiles (for which you already sacrifice an equipment slot) you can now just concede the game.
      The hulks being unable to move over razor wire, combined with the large footprint of the razorwire and the hulks will be very unfun. Also, the vermin are really not worth sacrificing 2 out of 4 equipment slots - or 2 out of 3, since you need Pollute Stockpiles and doesn't give you anything.
      But even disregarding that, going down from 24/27 effective average wounds to 21 and basically losing both offensive and defensive ploys on top of that really isn't made up for by the fact that you can now use Light Cover with the hulks. It doesn't matter that you get shot at less when you can't move up the board.

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I guess they'll do ok on Volkus, since they can now use Light Terrain for Cover and they profit from the free Saves against shooters on Vantage. On Into the Dark I don't see them being viable, Razorwire/Light Barricades/Accessible shuts the Hulks down too hard with their 5" movement. Vulgrar being stuck on a 6" flamer is also a weird choice.

    So I'm a little confused about wyrmblade it states in the rules that u can not take 3 am I missing reading it?
    This equipment allows you to select two mines
    (see universal equipment). You cannot also
    select that equipment as normal (i.e. to give you
    three), and friendly WYRMBLADE operatives are
    ignored for your mines’ effects (i.e. they cannot
    trigger or take damage from them). This takes
    precedence over the normal mines rules.

    Thanks for the awesome summary! I'm glad exaction squad got a lot stronger imo, shame they lost the P1, but overall a good rebalance. Can somebody explain, though, what's the point of Heavy (Reposition only)? Isn't that the point of heavy that you can't move, only dash? You almost always want to move and shot, so what's the deal here? Does it prevent you from doing mission actions and shooting or something?

      It's just an in-between point. Lighter restriction than regular heavy. It's mostly a replacement for Cumbersome or Clumsy or Suspensor System. Same stuff, different name.

Maybe I don't see something and playing the game will clarify. Or maybe it's just a lighter restriction, nothing more. I think it is mostly my 2ed brain telling me that moving and shooting with a heavy weapon is just super strong.

    I think this is a mistake but the way they’ve worded apprentek can’t see anything that says cryptek and apprentek can’t do same cryptek action in a TP… so 24” bubble on nanomine potentially 😂… I’m sure that’s not intended but it’s hilarious.

    void dancers just a pile of trash now. cant really do anything flashy or remarkable, they are still 8 man with 8 wounds who cannot shoot more than 8 inches, but now can be shot easily. a lot fairer, huh? garbage.

      You think so? They are basically back to pre-Bheta Decima levels of mobility. 8" pistols will help with double tapping and making full use of their 3 APL, the DJ has better weapon profiles, can use Between the Colours/Darting Salvo and cannot have their debuff simply ignored since now it isn't causing Injured anymore, Seer has their chip damage increased by 2 times on average, players get free ploys.
      Domino Field isn't a required CP-sink anymore (and people will now never have to learn how to deal with it), Cegorach's Jest is still amazing, and half of the equipment is good and the other half mediocre. Curtain Falls and Murderous Entrance have been nerfed significantly but them being free on players makes up for that in my opinion.
      Melee weapon choices are still boring, you'll probably almost always want Blades, and sometimes Caresses or Kisses.
      All in all, they have been buffed tremendously compared to post-Bheta Decima, slightly nerfed compared to pre-Bheta Decima, but with their mobility should be really strong and finally people have no excuses anymore for hating on them since the team basically lost all the expensive tricks that people never bothered to learn.

      ​@@v.y.o. we will see. i get your points, but i think you are too optimistic. the movement is improved for sure, but if they could ignore traversable terrain that would be better. i really hoped they will do that. and they lost the ability to ignore fighters when moving. as i recon everyone have 8" pistols now, so its a universal buff. the free _firefight_ ploy could be good, but you can only do any of them once. the DJ now need a CP to not stay out in the open after shooting - so there is your new CP sink - , the new domino field seems a little random, but maybe. the elusive target ploy - i dont even understand what it does exactly? it switches off vantage point and thats all...? for ONE fighter.... i dont know this whole thing still feels like a nerf. and with domino field gone they lost their unique playstyle, the saedath is now basically nothing. the original was a little too complicated, but it made them unique, i liked it, even if it not neccesarily did much in every game. they now not a horde and certainly not elite, still in between with number of fighters, but their fighters are more on the fragile side. and with obscure changed too (for the better i think) with 8 wounds and no way to avoid shot to pieces by a random anything really before they could get close enough... this seems to be hard. and when you look at something like Angels of Death or legionaries, it feels more like nearly impossible.

      ​@@peterkukk5425 So I played a game with them today, and they feel more fragile than before. They are also hurt quite a lot by Dash not allowing Climbing anymore, so you can't climb over small obstacles at the start and the end of your activation.
      Saedath are boring now but provide good rerolls.
      Players getting free Firefight Ploys was great, even though them being noticeably weaker means you don't get those really wild plays from before.
      Talismans and Toxins are ok, Death Mask and Understudy feel week and might never trigger.
      Shadowseer's Mirror of Minds is distustingly good since you get 4-6 damage, and often even the full 8 damage, without a chance to save or use obscuring.
      Other than that the team is still very swingy, and if you don't get good rolls on saves and shuriken you lose operatives super fast.
      All in all they feel pretty similar to pre-Bheta Decima, if noticeably weaker.
