Hi man I'm so glad you're in Malaysia. There's a weird/interesting car from Malaysia as well - Bufori. Would love it if you have the chance to do some videos on them
welcome to Malaysia, the capital of Evo conversion. chances are if you saw an evo here, most likely it's a converted one (there's a lot of them around, you can find standard evo sedan, evo coupé and even an evo hatchback)
used to own 1 with a 4G92 Mivec engine. The pull is just enough as this particular chassis is not well known for its handling abilities. Sold it in 09' and I miss the times driving it
Bro, you gotta understand, proton was based on Mitsubishi, so its 70 percent Evo, so you can just use body part, interior, enjin gearbox and 4wd part to make it 95 evo. Only difference will be the chassis, evo chassis is stiffer. Similarly cedia has similar chassis with evo but not as stiffer, so you can make it evo 95 percent.
The only similarity between a proton wira and mitsu evo is the look. That's it. The chassis of a Proton wira 1.5l is the same design but not as tough as a mitsu evo3 although it can be fully converted to look like an evo3. There's a much better and stronger chassis Proton Wira which is a limited edition Proton Wira 1.8 which has better chassis than a normal Wira.
They just have 2 sheet metal BS reinforcement at the front strut tower and the rear X brace that it LOL so yeah! they are the same thing, also you can reinforce way better any of those cars better (at least Mitsubishi mirage's)

Eh, if it was AWD.... It's a 4G63 swap. Mirage Asti to be exact

"We have Subaru 22B at home"
"We have DSM at home."

Go check out the Prodrive version of the Putra. Looks almost identical to one

Finally , the wiralution/putralution expose to the world😂😂😂 , damn miss those old days😅
That look so good. It also very getting popular in Australia people convert proton jumbuck ute in EV0 3 awd ute.
Ayyyyy thanks larry! Youre the best 🥳

I always loved the putra.. but seeing this model, evo spec, especially in silver, makes me fall in love with more so much more
I visited Malaysia a few times and I fell in love with Protons
Neatest part of the conversion is the rear tail lights from the lancer sedan onto a coupe! 👍🏻
I like how Larry goes from, "But why though?" to "This is cool!"
From what I remember Mitsubishi sold Proton all of its tooling for the Mirage/Colt/Lancer platform.
Car cultures around the world are just crazy, awesome video :)
I always prefered Putra over Satria GTi.
For those who don't know the Proton Putra is based on Mitsubish Mirage Asti
