****Update**** Buy it HERE CHEAP!: amzn.to/3myszcf I've caught SO MANY 4 lb and up Smallies on this rod/reel since I made this review video. I HIGHLY recommend it! Link to purchase it is in the description. I even bought another one after I dropped my free one in the lake.
The butt cap is removal so that you can remove the individual telescopic rod sections for disassembly, repairs, or cleaning. All the pieces come out the back for removal. You cant store anything in there because the handle is not hollow when the rod is fully collapsed.
Great job Brian and way to pull no punches. So far I have liked everything from Plusinno and believe their products are terrific for people looking to start fishing.
Thanks, Larry. I agree...both products I've tried out seem to be really well built. I don't get to use the net enough to really test the durability but I will be running this rod/reel through the ringer. If it fails on me early I'll be letting everyone know but I doubt that it will happen.
"Looks like the plumbing under my kitchen sink." Lololol. Good honest review. Like how you go over pluses and negatives. And I'm glad your not just endorsing the product the whole video. Looks like a decent product overall.
Thanks, bud. I won’t lie on a review. There’s been a few products I turned down and one that I accepted that I told the company I was sorry but their product sucked and I was either going to say it or not make the video. They just said keep the lures. 😂 I tossed them. They were terrible.
Nice video man I always used to fish with my dad in lake saint clair with the plusinno telescopic rod also went to London and used this rod to catch a 5 pounder on the river Thames always god bless and thanks for the nice video.
I travel with two collapsible rods on my small adv motorcycle! Gets me into tight spots or well off the road if I'm creek fishing. The collapse rods make it possible, and with fuel prices...... Really appreciate your reviews!!
Those collapsible rods are awesome. In my most recent video I caught 8 out of the 10 HUGE smallmouth bass on them. I’m a believer now. If they can hold up to 4.5 lb smallmouth bass for that price, you can’t beat it.
Good review brother. Plenty of "that's what she said" moments too so bonus points there. I've considered buying one to keep in the truck but always wondered on the quality. Seems like a good option for sure. Also, nice hat 😉
You’re welcome. Very good for the light baits and not so much for bigger ones. I’m sure you can get bit but it just feels too weird and it was driving me crazy when the Swimbait felt like a crank 😂
That bottom piece possibly is the store cigarettes, joints and what not. Small little storage thing. That's just my silly guess LOL But if you think about it, it might be for putting it on a rod holster. And I have heard some reviews that that part that you're holding at the bottom fiberglass and a customer or a purchaser said it broke on him. I got me one too. It is pretty nice but I don't know if I put my fishing line on correctly but I still got it on. I watched someone tie it on there first and then reeled it up and then put it on that hook loop. I did it wrong lol 🤣 first time using a reel like that and it's been since I was a kid since I fished. I'm 41 but hey if I have to I'll put some new stuff on it
Maybe you’re right about the storage. I’ll tell you what…I love this rod. I use it all of the time, and I swear it’s a good luck rod. I’ve caught some of my biggest fish on it.
Awesome review Bryan!!! Definitely an compact travel rod that you can use for those unplanned adventures. I really like the combo it definitely looks and functions as a quality combo. Thanks for sharing brother
The screw cap on the bottom is to put extra weight like egg sinkers for if you ever changed to a lighter reel. Instead of the rod being tip heavy the sinker(s) you use would balance the rod. Just put the sinker(s) in a small sandwich bag and stuff them in the handle so that they don't constantly roll/bounce around inside the handle.
Thanks, bud! I’ve been having great luck with the Smallies this year. So good that I’ve kind of abandoned Harsens Island but I’ll make it back there eventually.
I appreciate this honest review because I was considering picking one up until you mentioned it’s not worth fishing with heavy lures. I’m all about the heavy artillery/power fishing and I can’t see myself being able to make good use out of it. Otherwise it looks like a nice setup!
Thanks, bud! 👊🤨 It's still worth a purchase just to always have with you, although you have a truck so I'm sure that's not an issue for you. But for me and my midsize car, this is a game changer. Now I'll always have something in case I see a spot on the side of the road.
Omg 🤣😂😳. I was cracking up…just the tip n that dude!!!! Rocket scientologist …your killing it in this video 😂 Really great review here Bryan, top to bottom you covered it all including on the water. Well done!
Just the tip... Great review. I was checking this out. I could really use one of these for a secondary in the creek. I'm thinking a Ned setup ready to go incase nothing else is working.
That's the main reason I said yes to the review. Definitely sensitive enough. I was bummed I didn't get the hookset on camera. I had just paddled about a half a mile in from the main lake and that was LITERALLY my first cast under that dock. I felt every bit of that bite. Great rod for lighter baits.
I’m going to check out the small one. I think it would be great for panfish. I can keep it in my storage compartment on the kayak. Sometimes when I’m sucking at catching bass, which is often, I always wish I had an ultralight onboard for bluegill and crappie. Great review Bryan. Thanks buddy!🙌🎣 Just the tip!😂😂
That’s an awesome idea, Joe! There’s been a few days at Harsens where the bluegill/pumpkinseed bite has been on (keep stealing my plastics) and I wish I had one as well.
I like it! Nice vid. Reason it would be good for me is for creek fishing. I wanna bring the fly rod and this. Way easier to keep them packed away! Oh yaaasssss
It would DEFINITELY work for that and it's literally the reason I told them I'd try it out (Even though I didn't take it on a creek yet). I was thinking the same thing, I could bring two rods way easier if one could be packed away.
"It looks like the plumbing under my sink" 🤣 you cracked me up on that one haha. That was a fantastic review. Too be honest after listening to this I think I would purchase it. That cap on the handle, maybe it's to sneak a little shot of rhum? 🤔😝
Just the tip !!! Hahhahaha 🤣 I do like that button that collapsed the reel a little more. That is strange it was shaking with that paddle tail though. But glad you got a fish and a true test. Great review !
Hey! I was just wondering if the rod is still ok until now? I've seen many reviews that the rod easily broke. Is it true? Coz I want to buy the product though.
Well…last year I flipped my kayak and it sank to the bottom of the lake. I caught a BUNCH of BIG smallmouth on that rod and it never had an issue. I just bought a new one two weeks ago (with my own money this time) and I used it last week. Seriously I like the rod and hopefully this time I don’t lose it so I can test its durability.
Isn't this the old version? Couple years ago they made a new version that is supposed to be way better. Lighter and better balanced. It'd has a more ornate design in the end of the handle.
Not sure. They have MANY different looks to their collapsible rods. This is just the one I was sent. I actually assumed it was newer. I really do like the rod. So much so that after I dropped this in the lake (this was FREE) I went out and bought another one.
@@KavalanSol no problem. I may even make another video about this rod because after I made this video I caught a BUNCH of 4 lb smallmouth on it and it holds up just fine. If you choose to get one I hope you like it.
I’m looking into ordering this for my next camping trip, what line are you using on it? I want to buy different line than what it comes with. What specific one are you using?

I hope you love it as much as I do.
Solid review man. I used to have one similar to this. Same brand but I dont think it was that model. I also had mixed feelings but overall as a back up for the car, it worked just as well as the Quantum version I owned previously. Saying that, the rod tip snapped on a hookset. Still have the reel somewhere LOL. Enjoy the jokes spread in there as always. LOL
Thanks, Joe. The tip is the only thing I’m concerned with as well. Time will tell. By the way, after being gone for a few days I returned home to find your package at the doorstep. Looks great, man. Can’t wait to try them out.
