Have you noticed when you change color like this you get a divorce? when you went full grey that you burned your hair, you got the divorce, and now you got your hair again thru these processes to end up blue and you got a break up. I am growing my grey just letting it grow, I had blonde, so I get white or beige highlights to blend it and it looks like I did balayage

That purple is gorgeous!! Can't wait to see your final gray hair! I went gray latter part of 2018, after my mom died. I died it a dark blonde and she had a fit(didn't like it). But told her I loved it and she left it alone. She died on Feb. 9th 2018. Then I started letting it grow out and then started cutting it shorter cause I wanted to see what it would look like. It will be 5 yrs in Feb. since she has passed. I want to try a wash out fun color as highlight color to my gray/silver hair. Never have tried it; Maybe one day I will have the money to do it. Good Luck Lisa!!!

Just sat and watched a few of your videos the more recent one on you taking all the purple out and going gray, and also the one where the flat iron changed your gray to yellow than red..that terrified me tbh. Im wanting to transition my hair to gray (I think LOL) so tored of trying t keep up with the roots! I have been coloring my hair amethist for over 5 years (not sure exactly how long) I am 54 and mostly gray and my darkk brown hair is more of a medium brown now. I started using purple because I always wanted purple but didnt want to bleach,Ive been every "natural color' under the sun lol and always envied purple hair..loved that its so gentle on my hair. .my grandbabies call me "Purple Nana" I get compliments everytime im out. Thank you for showing the splat root touch up as I didnt even know it existed as Im starting to get some resistent grays and part of the reason Ive been thinking of transitioning was because I have a hard time keeping up with them and they just dont look right..this will definitely give me some added time while I contimplate my next move ;)

I'm a cosmetologist and I destroyed my scalp coloring my hair too much. Finally I gave up. I tried Transylvania from Arctic Fox and it changed my world! I love that I can have dark hair and not hurt my scalp. Plus it fades to the most lovely green color that I really adore. This is a definite hack for those out there looking to cover or grow out grey without using permanent color.

I'm soooooooooo excited to find another unicorn mermaid hair goddess who did this! I just turned 51. My hair is what I call "Purpinkle." Just like yours here. Purple roots with pink/fuchsia lengths. I have deciding to drop the bleach and other dyes and instead lean in to the purpinkle with semis while I go glittery grey! Thank you for the root touch up tip from Splat. That will be perfect. Lovelovelove.

You were my inspiration when I went gray. I was heartbroken for you when you curled the toner permanently into your beautiful hair. I was sad when my grays grew out and found that I am still brown overall. The process was about 2 years of learning to appreciate myself for who I am - there was no bottle that could boost my ego. I am now so thankful to “own” my natural hair. It’s freeing - and bonus - free!

@@katiebelles3810 You'd be surprised. I know I was. I decided one month before covid hit to stop dying my hair.I had very dark brown hair and my skunk stripe was always very white. I am curly, so I knew highlighting my hair to make it easier would be too damaging, so it was cold turkey for me! NOT EASY!!! Anyway, as time went on, I had more strands that varied in silvers/whites/dark browns grow in. Not at all what I expected. It is gorgeous! I almost caved during the early months. Thank Goodness I didn't. I work with the public and get compliments from strangers all of the time. Never once in all of the years when my hair was dyed did I ever get a compliment on it. You don't really know how your hair will look until you try it, and grow it out AT LEAST 6 months thru completion before you'll have an idea of what it'll look like.

My sister went natural and I'm envious of her too. Unfortunately my hair is very thin and balding, so every time I have dropped coloring it, and think I can go natural too, it shows the balding, thinning even more so I go for the dye box as quick as I can.

But then I really saw how my natural siver/white hair was going to be. What blew me away was the amount of new growth, especially at the front & temple. The condition of my hair is unbelievable . My hair is just below shoulders. You go from a mood of being miserable, but then each month you see the actual beauty of whats to be. When I went gray I simply stopped dying my gray hair. At one point half of my head was gray and the bottom half was dark. I got so many compliments I could not believe it. But my hair curls in ringlets naturally. I am a mixed Caucasian and my hair curled into ringlets in my 30s. I later found out that on my paternal side many of the family members hair curled as they wereOlder. I told them I wish I had known this was going to happen but they said they couldn’t predict it would. Anyway, I had such a positive response and so many younger women also telling me that they weren’t afraid of their gray hair anymore after seeing how cool it Could look. I wouldn’t be worried if I were you, you can go gray however you want!❤ Please be careful doing too much coloring and color removal to your hair, it will become damaged. Also, because your hair is light in the first place the gray is not that obvious.

If I did a tenth of what you do to your hair, I’d be half bald and my hair would look like cotton wool. You are very lucky to have such naturally great hair and roots that can withstand all the things you like to do!
I have salt and pepper roots (prob 20% gray on average) and have been tinting the gray light brown (just the roots, never the length which has already been colored once) ever 6-8 weeks for years with demi or semi-permanent dye to end up with natural looking highlights against my dark hair. Interestingly, even without ammonia these semi and demi dyes stain my gray pretty much permanently and even last through daily washing with clarifying shampoo. And since I don’t need to color the lengths, my hair never gets damaged or over saturated.
I imagine I can keep doing that for a long, long time if I want to, though at some point I think I might opt to permanently dye my hair dark to get professional highlights (I love the look of evenly spaced, thin highlights!) and then just use this method to blend in my roots between touching up my highlights once or twice a year.
PS Thank you for the candid shots without lashes or makeup or tanner or filters - love and greatly appreciate the transparency. There needs to be more of that on UA-cam and in the entertainment industry.

Semi permanent and demi permanent are excellent to cover grey without the extra damage. My favorite are Age beautiful and clairol grey solutions. I really want to try overtone to blend greys. I was using L’Oréal colorista but over time it did dry out my hair having to refresh all the color every month or two. I’m also about 20-25% grey and do my roots only every 6-8 weeks. I only pull color through my ends maybe 2-3 times a year during the last 15 minutes while my color is processing just to refresh color or I’ll use a color mask if color is fading. My natural hair is dark brown but I’ve been coloring it a medium red brown about a level 5. It is not good to constantly change color or dye roots to ends. Eventually I want to transition to a mushroom brown or medium ash brown because that will blend and hide the grey a little better. I hide my roots between coloring with root touch up sprays and powders. What hair color brands do you favor?

I’ve been using Ion Demi from Sally’s Beauty supply, though I use the Wella 10 volume developer with it because the Ion 10 developer seems to increase my hair shedding. I tried Natural Instincts but it slightly lightened my natural hair and my hair didn’t look healthy, never went back. I’m pretty happy with what I’ve been using. I used to use 5g which gave my brown-black hair a great multidimensional look, but I like lighter highlights to brighten my face so now am using a mix of 5n and 7n (6n alone doesn’t seem to stick). I’m happy so far! I love the mushroom colors also and have planned to ask for that when I decide to transition to professional highlights!

I followed your gray hair journey a few years back when I was growing my hair out and about when I was done, you had colored yours again. I loved your gray hair…mine came in mostly white with all of my dark hair underneath. It looks like I have had lowlights put in sometimes…lol. I’m just happy that its thick and healthy and I no longer have to worry about touchups every 2-3 weeks. I look forward to seeing your journey again!

Color Ooops is the bomb! I dyed my hair red for over 20 years, and was able to take it all off in one session. Was a blonde for about 2 months, did pink, peach with semi, and ended with strawberry so the grays wouldn't show up so much. Am loving the purple! BTW - you remind me so much of Salma Hayek!

Fantastic idea! When I started let my gray show, it was with a 2 in wide blonde stripe on one side of my head where I parted my hair. This way I could flip my hair one way to show more gray, then the other side to show a blend of blonde highlights over my gray underneath. I left the dark gray in the back alone. I get compliments on it every week. Anything goes now. And the products….wow!! K18, Cer-100, Olaplex. Good hair and good attitude works wonders. Have fun!

Hey Silver Sister! You look gorgeous! I decided to start my gray journey in September 2019. I spent the whole day at the salon removing some gorgeous red color. You are right about red color, it’s a biotch to get out. I was left with a blonde color bob that was fun. After that, my gray/silver started to blend really well with the blonde. Then a few weeks in, covid hit. It was the bestest time to let my hair do it’s thing. It was also a fun time for me to experiment. I did something similar to what you, but not as bold of colors. Started off with a pink glass, then a teal! Since teal was so bright, and I was chicken about applying it to my entire head of hair. I only added the teal color to the bottom and tips of my hair, basically covering the yellowish blonde color that was left. It ended up looking like I meant to do that and I got really great compliments. When the color faded into green I used purple around my face and ends, then I finally ended up with pretty natural silver hair. Everyone says it’s the best color I’ve ever worn. I couldn’t feel better about myself. Joining the #silversistermovement has been the best confidence booster.
I used Keracolor clenditioner in platinum. I purchased their silver as well, but it gives a darker grey tone. If anyone is thinking about going for it, just do it! What’s the worst that could happen?

You look amazing, Lisa!! I just wanted to share with others who might want to do this in a brown, I’ve had a very positive experience using Keracolor (color depositing conditioner, brown). It temporarily covers the bleached pieces, but not the silvers at all. It was a great way to go!
I decided later I wasn’t ready to go totally gray, so now I’m back to coloring, but with a very light semi-permanent brown. The grays almost look like a highlight. It doesn’t totally cover the gray, but it’s all blended. I figure when I’m ready, it will be an easy transition. Just sharing info❣️Best of luck to all going through this process!

My last color application was Jan 12th 2020 after coloring for 38 years. I spent thousands trying to get the blonde I wanted and only managed to get badly damaged hair. The only damaging thing I do to my hair now is using a blowdryer and a flat iron. The iron I admit I use every day, but now that I have a variation of about 3 different versions of gray and white as well as my natural blonde I prefer it as straight as I can get it. Aside from the short spikey new growth that I have to get creative with, I am absolutely in love with my natural color(s) It was a "Well whadaya know😃" situation and I feel blessed. All that said, your final results are stunning!!😍

I really enjoyed this video. I really loved your gray hair era and was bummed when you decided to color again. I'm your age and started growing my gray out - cold turkey - in April 2020. I could not take trying to hide the gray roots anymore, and the pandemic gave me an out. I'm for the most part done - some in the back, still. My hair is thicker and healthier now. I love this color on you! I have similar skin tone as yours, and would love to have purple hair. The only thing I worry about is if this would truley wash out of my hair over time if I just wanted my gray without any color. It took me so long to grow my hair out - just don't want to do that again. Please keep posting on your process - I'm so curious to see how it goes. Your hair is so luscious and thick!

Lisa, I got my Omnia pillow a week ago and I absolutely love it! I have had neck and mutiple back surgeries, like you have and I can never find pillow that I am happy with. The Omnia pillow is comfortable sleeping on my sides and back, which is the only two ways I can sleep anyways. I am super happy with it. I dont wake up with neck pain or soreness like I was and it really does seem to help with traction like you said you feel it does for you too. The cutout for less wrinkles is a bug added bonus but the pillow really is top notch comfortable. Thank you, so much for recommending. It was pricey, but so worth every penny for good nights sleeps with less pain. I go through new pillows alot because they just dont work, it was super frustrating. I am very happy and it only took me a couple days to adjust to it. Love the hair too! I think it fits you really well too and I think is better then the red on you. You are beautiful no matter what! Hugs & love! 🤗❤

I'm highly impressed you still have hair on your head, and a ton of it, with all that processing ! : ) In any event, I absolutely love your result. I plan on going grey; however, I have bought several very high-end wigs and will (1) get used to myself in grey; (2) hide the growing out stage. If I get it dyed grey, my hair is so fragile, it will all break off. The wigs are fun and the few times I have worn them so far, people are stunned they are not my real hair. Ciao Ciao Bella !
