This Drummer Left Hand Speed Matches Bass Drum Speed Looks Impossible To Do

- This is a break down of the drum solo I took at my Ken Loomer Jazz Trio concert. Drummers have ask me how I match my left hand speed with my bass drum speed during this part of my solo. First I have my own way of the doing my finger control of my left hand. You don`t see my wrist, arm, or fingers moving at all. It looks impossible to do. I`m bouncing the left stick off the head to my none moving fingers. Just a very slight downward movement off my fingers which is hard to see. To match my bass drum speed, I play heel down and just press on the pedal left to right to get that speed going. As you can see, I play very relaxed with no stress to get this very even sound of the left hand and bass drum. This technique works for me and I use it all the time. Great drummers like Buddy Rich and Joe Morello had their own way of doing this left hand control, and I have my own.
making the impossible look easy- sure sign of a master
Anything is possible when trying out new ways to do a drum technique that will work for you. Thanks Phil for your comment.

Cool!
It`s for sure is a Cool drum technique to learn and do it right. The people seem to like what I was playing with just my left hand. Thanks for your comment.
Nice dynamics, ole chap!
I love to use dynamic`s during my solo. I make people listen to what I`m playing when I play softly. Glad you notice that chap!
