The thing I really love about your videos is that you show people how to get the most out of the OS that comes on their Mac instead of having to install a bunch of other apps to get the same things done. I would say if ppl watched your videos they would quickly find they may only need to install a few apps on their Mac.
This channel is the best and most reliable source for Mac tips and tricks on UA-cam. I became a Mac user 2 years ago and I’ve learned so much from this channel. Simply the best 👍🏽
Wow....the last tip about copying and pasting text or photos between iPhone and a Mac is awesome. Had no idea. Setting up Universal Clipboard using Handoff was easy too with your link. Thank you!
Another great video and once again I learnt a lot. I did find that when copying from iPhone to Mac using the iPhone Mirroring App you could just highlight text and drag it across to your Mac. Thanks for making these video, always good to keep learning new things.
The text replace function is helpful for medical or legal personnel who have to type enormous words as part of their profession. A friend's sister did medical transcription at home. She created shortcut words for the long medical terms she encountered most. This allowed her to breeze through her documents quickly. It also reduced the wear and tear on her fingers.
You are exceptional, thank you so much for posting this video, it's so awesome to learn some new tricks amongst Apple devices to make life more efficient!
Hi Gary, have you made any sound/voice changes to your videos? Somehow it sounds 'accelerated' in parts, or 'higher'. Just curious. Thanks for the great content as always!
Is there a way to put the Character View in the Menu Bar or at least bring it up via a key shortcut? I don't see this app in the Application or Utilities folder.
Actually, just asked ChatGPT and found out. Open Settings > Keyboard > Change "Press (globe) key to" Show Emoji & Symbols. Press the (globe) key and the simpler emoji and symbols will come up. Click the keyboard symbol in the upper right and it will change to Character View. Press the (globe) key. Character View will go away. Press is again, and it will re-appear.
You want to use the one that matches your ecosystem. For instance, if you use all Google searches, then you'd want to use Google contacts. But if you use all Apple services, then use Apple contacts.
I would have agreed with that statement up until a year or two ago, when I was meet with a message that basically said "Thank you for using the MS "Insert Name" App that we downloaded and installed without asking... "Your" Images are now OUR Images!"... It shit like this, "Choices" limited to ONLY "Yes" and "Remind me later" etc. that is the reason for why my next computer probably will be a Mac!
@@TheDanEdwards When you open a picture in a file you should be able to use your mouse to click for the next picture without having set a setting every time you ope a picture or use the arrow key on the keyboard. It should be simple with no extra steps. A lot of times I sit own the sofa and scroll pictures with my mouse and no keyboard on my TV. It is the only reason I keep a windows computer is for my pictures. If I need to edit a picture then I send it to my Mac. I had Gary explain how to do what I want several times but it is unnecessary steps that windows doesn't have.
@@macmost Thanks but these are all unnecessary steps that Windows doesn't have to view a simple file of pictures with your mouse. I suggest maybe you get a windows computer and mess around with picture viewer. It is so simple and to the point. You will love it.
Preview is far from perfect. It doesn't display some images in pdfs that other tools do. I down loaded my lexus and toyota manuals and some figures or they may be drawings simply don't display. I see other users complaining too.

Universal Clipboard is easily one of the greatest recent Apple features. So nice and works effortlessly!
Brilliant- TY. Most productive 10 mins I’ve spent all day😊

Absolutely brilliant, thanks very much 👍👌👏
How do you remember all this stuff? You’re amazing!
3:57 I wish there is a way I can create signature on iPad, save it and use it across my device. But Preview apps only available on Mac 😢

Thanks Gary. As always, I learned something today. 🙂
There's a batch rename?! They should put that on the box!
@@RocknRollCEO yes it’s actually pretty powerful for being built into the Finder and makes renaming files a breeze!

Not recently, no.
Great video, only copy paste between Apple devices didn't work, perhaps I forgot something to install.
I show a troubleshooting link right at 9:00
It would be nice to make Quick Look to show all file in Icons view using just the left or right arrow key.
You can. Command+A to select all. Spacebar for Quick Look. Not use left and right arrows to flip through all files in Quick Look.

Can you please 🙏 do a video on Apple Contacts Vs. Google contacts and make a case for why we want to use Apple contacts
You want to use the one that matches your ecosystem. For instance, if you use all Google searches, then you'd want to use Google contacts. But if you use all Apple services, then use Apple contacts.
Never knew about the option hold down to get 'save as." It's been on my list of bonehead things Apple did, now I can cross it off... Thank you!
✔️🙏🏿
I wish apple had a picture viewer like Windows has. So much more easier and efficient.
What is Quickview lacking for you?
There are many ways to view images. Probably one or more fits your needs. See ua-cam.com/video/SVttzEprNug/v-deo.html
