- The Western Cape has been plunged into chaos, as a severe weather system lashes the province.
With information and calls for help still coming in, two people are reported missing due to heavy flooding. The N2 Highway at Botrivier has been cut off, making travelling to and from Cape Town impossible. Towns such as Bredasdorp, Hermanus, Struisbaai and De Doorns recorded great downpours, turning roads into rivers.

We had the same problem in Rustenburg a week ago but no one care about us,our houses are gone
Such an act of Nature that creates major problems for millions of people. The fact that the one lady blames the opening of the dam, yes, a problem, but rather they open the dam and let the flood waters through. Otherwise should the dam wall break, then there would be chaos, no water supply and how long would they have to wait for the damaged dam wall to be rebuilt. At times like this drastic measures need be taken to prevent unnecessary further damage. Hope things can be back to normal soon for all affected .
