The lyrics are translated into english somewhat loosy and suorisingly accurately because I'm guessing his audience is either peimarily English speaking or Yiddish speaking with English being the second most common language and he wants to have the meaning of the song front and centre. Naturally, the translation isn't as goid as the original Hirsh Glick was an amazing poet. There is a singer Chava Albertstein and she is amazing,ing a bit and I'm always thinking about the way people sing and she just has this way of expressing the emotions of the song in the way she sings. For example, zog nit keyn mol Can I ask a random question though, how does it sound to, is it at all similar to german or english or completely different. For me it's always interedting when I hear a word that sounds like one of the 50 german words I know or if I listen carefully I can work out a word here or there. Some basic parts of the language are very similar. Although the phonetitics are quite different.
