      Rory de-escalated the situation with a free tow bill and getting the vehicle to the trailhead. Absolutely a pro gamer move !
      I hope that law enforcement met them, coming off the trail.
      I hope protective services look out for that childs welfare also !
      Always been impressed with Rory's skills, driving, towing, mechanical, but he went above and beyond, dealing with this situation, that got a 2 year old off the trail !

      Why? He is outspoken enough on his equipment and values.
      In cases like this send a lawyer to put the contract up. And that should not be guy who saves your ass!!!!!
      But i am not american!!!
      Pity where i live your way gets more and more used!
      I had a reason not to emigrate.
      Now i start to live in a country i did not want to go to.

    When that customer sobers up, I hope he watches this video! He was looking for trouble but thanks to you and Shawn his family was properly taken care of and so was his vehicle. The Rescue group did a good job too! Team work!!

      I'm surprised the authorities weren't there anyways since the search and rescue was called out. At least where I live you can't notify any response agency and not get a Sheriff, Police, or State Trooper responding to check into the situation.

      tell the owner that Rory was taking the vehicle back to town
      The owner: said absolutely not
      Rescue asked the own if he wanted him to call the cops.
      So the cops were not there at that time.

      ​@@powderriver2424The authorities wouldn't have been able to do much. Nobody was there to witness the vehicle roll and the woman stated right in the video that she was the one driving. Unless she was drinking also there wouldn't be much the police could do as they can't prove he was driving without witnesses.

    I work in Emergency Services(firefighter/Wildlands firefighter) and it always amazes me how hostile SOME people can be when youre helping them.
    Definitely had a few interactions with people where I just wanna say "OK GOOD LUCK BYEEEE"

    I remember pain in the butt customers when I did recoveries. One night a guy kept telling me how to pull his truck out of the woods, about the third comment I told him Your job is to put the truck in the woods mine is to get it out, Your job is done. Got a chuckle from the cop

      I'm sure it was pleasant. I've had to give a few of them chats over the years.... some of the times some body decided to lay down on the ground. Not a favorable choice to damn much paperwork.

    lets walk through the bad decisions made that day. 1 - lets go drinking, 2 - lets get in the truck with our 2 year old child, 3 - lets drive Hells Revenge AT NIGHT when the trails closed, 4 - lets try to fight the Recovery Company and Search and Rescue when they come to help us.
    did you finish the night by telling the girl - Make Better Choices in those that you date?
    Honestly you guys showed great restraint. dud would have wound up in the hot tub by himself to sober up if i was there.

      Taxi drivers have to put up with this sort of stuff all the time. It takes some skill to get people to settle down sometimes. The most unpredictable are those who are drunk and high.

    I happen to put my phone down while watching this to drink sum water and pick the phone up to see Rory in green captions talking bout "bat shyt crazy" 🤣😂😂🤣🤣 I had to rewind it and see wat caused Rory who is a very humble patient person make an abrupt correction to these people. Dang they really stepped over his boundaries. Shawn and Mike giggling in the background makes it even funnier 🤣😂😂

    I've been to Moab several times on vacation and mountain biking. Some of the best people i've meet there are the ones who are always trying to help you have a good and safe time in their little gem of a town. All those guys are out there in the middle of the night freezing their arses off to make sure you and your family are safe and taken care of. They should of called the cops and made that guy spend a night on a rock hard bed while his wife and daughter were safe and taken care off. I love moab, but I respect that hell out of that place - especially if you're in the back country at night. Things will go sideways in a hurry with impaired judgment.

Get the guys in khaki uniforms out there to register them both in the steel bar motel and resort and hand the child to CPS, while placing their FJ in impound. Leave it for attorneys to earn their keep. Meanwhile invoice all applicable fees and charges to them.

      Maybe he just simply believes all rescue and emergency services personnel are dishonest car/property thieves.

    Awesome patience by Rory and the SaR crew on the recovery. I imagine that by the time you were recovering the FJ the customer already had a couple of hours to sober up and he was still not making any good decisions.
    I'm sure that we would all love to see the unedited video, but the Trail Mater crew has always shown the highest standards in what they present on video. Part of what makes Trail Mater the best of the best.

    Telling them that you were going to pull then out and not charge them... amazing. That recover should be hella expensive. Also, telling them that them losing their shit was going to make you lose your shit, priceless.

    Great episode! Way to go Rory, sometimes it take a big voice to get through, you did everyone a favor... A touch of drama to stop the drama. Shawn was Awesome... Taking a two year old out 4x4ing seems to me like a pretty bad decision to put the child in danger. Nice to see all four of you, I mean all three at the shop. Thank you.
