For 3.22 on my Prospector mining solo, I am using the Helix with Focus III and Reiger C3. I also carry Sabir and Optimax gadgets... the Sabir for big rocks and the Optimax for everything else, to give cleaner breaks and higher ore concentrations. Haven't used any active modules in this patch - just haven't seen a need. I average around 19-20 SCU of premiere ores on 90% of my runs. I'm not using the upgraded saddle bags from the Mole, so I still only have 32 SCU instead of 48 SCU.
The thing is that, yea, if you want to break with prospector sizes til max around 15-20 tons, it can go without active modules with Prospector with Helix laser, but I can break around 30 tons with Prospector and for that you need active modules and Sabir on rock, and it all depend on how high concentration is of good material in that rock and what material is it, all maters in mining now.
Yea, if you overcharge, that is what is moustly hapends, and on big rocks, when you mine quantanium or taranite it can be broken on first brake. Best is after first brake to go out of ship, and then collect it.

How often can I expect gadgets to be destroyed? Will it always happen if the rock "breaks angry" ?
