Good vid. I have a Mole and a Prospector which I have been using for years now. This vid answered many questions I always had. I have purchased all the mining modules and gadgets but am finding I am able to get away with changing to various heads on the mole and just doing easy rocks. The pay back is way better than salvaging with my vulture. What is your favorite refining procedure. I've been using Dynxsolventation but wow what a wait time. my last full mole load was 75 hours. I also see you don't use the Lancet 2. I like using it for some reason it has done well for me.

@@MavicAir1 A better balance in refining time vs. profit is Ferron, Dinyx takes too long and yield's the same. Pyro's the same yield as Ferron with half the time but 3x cost of Ferron. I typically mine a couple loads a day and run refined to TDD with 3 loads, any more than 4 and you may have to manually transfer cargo. Edit: Now it seems TDD is nerfed to require manually transferring every load. No doubt because cig's pushing ATLS sales. smh!

Yea, that's true. If you have a stick to fly, then usually you have that like small sticks or sliders what you can use for throttle control, and you can be much more accurate than with a mouse. I am 20 minutes in, very well done. My only suggestion for future video is saying what button you are pressing or show it on screen. For instance, I am watching you rotate objects with the Greycat Multi Tool, but I can't remember how that is done. I would have been nice if you mentioned the first time you did it. Now, I am going to finish the video :)

One of the biggest problems I've found is good laser control. I use the turtle beach flight deck which has multiple scrolls or analog controls which i tried on the laser and still it was really janky. On the throttle we are able to split left and right engine throttle. What I did is use right for thrusting and split the left and assigned it to laser in mining mode. This would work on any throttle that you can split and it's the finest analog control found on most joystick set ups.

I wish the mole and prospector had a few mining laser/module storage sockets/racks on the exterior of the ship. So you could carry a couple of different head option without all weirdness of tractoring heads through doorways. Some external storage access for gadgets would be nice too
Yea that would be nice, but now if you put heads inside Mole, and you leave modules on heads, they get broken true time, so its not good thing to do. Yea it does. The thing is, with space mining, that you have all the materials everywhere. On the surface, you can have more precise stuff as material connected. Also, if you for some weird reason, lose the ship, you can't find it in space, on surface, you can get back and find it maybe, if you know your approximate location by map. Put 2 SCU box first on the elevator, then go close to it by holding it with a tractor beam, and then as you push it up, go under the box, then there will be enough power to actually push it true opening inside, when the box is exactly above you when you stand on elevator. One thing that never gets menti9oned on these guides is that while we have all htese stats on paper, due to server inconsitency this all gets tossed out the window. Ive had it where the helix cant break even sub10k rocks but the holfstede breaks over 20k and vice versa. Until server stability gets resolved to the point where these stats are more consistent in application your gonna struggle half the time. My main soo build can vary between breaking 40k rocks and unable to even break 15k rocks all depending on the server.
I was able to brake around 53 tons alone, but I didint have that problems even on bad server that I could not brake like 15-20 tons alone. Maybe you realy dont have luck on server where you play. Yea, in this current patch they are buged they dont work if you play rn, you can use only passive modules like Focus for more green zone or Rieger for more power, and you can use Gadgets on rocks, but not active modules like Surge and Stampede. I have a problem with replacing the surge module after it’s done. Every time I line a new one up it shows the outline and says attachment invalid anybody have a similar problem or solution?
I didn't have that problem. The solution could be to claim another ship, and try then. And be sure that it is not some old module, if it have red colored letters where it says SIZE, you can't use it, and also that bar if its full left, like on 0, then you can't put it on and use it also. If you mean you can't scan it, try to scan some other cluster, or sometimes if you shoot with your guns on a ship on rocks it can trigger it. The difference is that you are safer in space, but on the moon you have clusters of stones which have a bigger number of stones, and if you lose the ship, you can find it again. I always like more mining on the surface than in space. And in space is all materials, and the moon you can go for more better ones. I still think the Hofstede is bugged. The minimal energy that is. With the Hofstede I just look at the smaller rock the wrong way and it's instantly overcharged. The Klein for example doesn't do that.

The problem with mining in SC is as follows if its worth mining its too big to break solo if its bigger than you can break without gadgets 9/10 adding the gadget will do literally nothing.... you are effectively limited to approx 35k mass as a solo which isnt impressive the other problem is the payout is abysmal so even if you do find a massive rock getting someone to come help will take longer than just breaking the smaller rock and moving on with your life
O gadgets do alot for max rocks, but max rocks for solo braking in Mole is around 50k mass, but for that you need to use always Helix II, modules Rieger C3 Surge and Stampede, and you need SABIR gadget on rock, he is reducing resistance for 50%, thats the key to brake that bigger rocks, and is most risky mining like that. I have some recordings where I break 45 tons, then 54 tons of quant rocks. I will make videos about that. Also, it all depends on what mix of materials you have together, everything matters. The problem that players have is that they think that putting a gadget on a rock and replacing some modules takes 10-15 min, it takes 2-3 min and that is nothing to lose in 1 hour run or less. I have engaged a bug, which I cannot use consumable items "alt + 1,2,3" I dont know why, I have install 1 sc box in my mole.

I frequently face the issue of the mining rock doesn't respawning. Is there a work around?

@@lightbox1974 you need to be sure that the PIERC bar in V scaner you don't have on over 50%, then the scanner is not showing UNKNOW markers anymore.

The problem with mining in SC is as follows
if its worth mining its too big to break solo
if its bigger than you can break without gadgets 9/10 adding the gadget will do literally nothing....
you are effectively limited to approx 35k mass as a solo which isnt impressive
the other problem is the payout is abysmal so even if you do find a massive rock getting someone to come help will take longer than just breaking the smaller rock and moving on with your life
O gadgets do alot for max rocks, but max rocks for solo braking in Mole is around 50k mass, but for that you need to use always Helix II, modules Rieger C3 Surge and Stampede, and you need SABIR gadget on rock, he is reducing resistance for 50%, thats the key to brake that bigger rocks, and is most risky mining like that.
I have some recordings where I break 45 tons, then 54 tons of quant rocks. I will make videos about that.
Also, it all depends on what mix of materials you have together, everything matters. The problem that players have is that they think that putting a gadget on a rock and replacing some modules takes 10-15 min, it takes 2-3 min and that is nothing to lose in 1 hour run or less.

If you cant put it on, try with that menu circle when you holding F and then right click when gadget is in your hands already. You have option place there.

3.24.2 live, I tried solo Mole. I can not go into any of those side laser rooms. looks like CIG block solo miners from Mole!
Its bug, you can open doors from pilot seat, just search for open exsterior, and also this doors gonna open.

Can you still make tickets at the refinery now that personal hangars are a thing?
Yes, and you don't have store a ship for making tickets, you can just land in a hangar and just go make tickets, or also land on landing pads outside the station, and go inside by elevators and make tickets.

So many combat ships....why do we only have 2 miners?
Thing is that we are already on stage 2 with mining, but salvaging is still first verzion, and we gonna get next year new salvage ship. For next year is no mining ships on release, so for that we need to wait 1-2 years to get maybe Arastra mining ship or Exspanse refinerie ship.
