Having a NPC crew move in after a while would also help keep games moving. No need to hunt around after everything is done and makes it more immersive too.
Yeah like Swat 3's Trailers mechanic where you can report a suspect/civilian/hostage as secured and ready to evacuate including heavily injured ones (which is sometimes required to make sure they don't bleed out)
i think it would be great to have an option where npcs react to things you say into the mic. like if i shout to get down irl this is translated into the game. would make coop way more interactive
Automatic high and low ready should definitely be a mechanic and is more than within the capability of unreal engine 4 since Ground Branch does it so seamlessly. They are already halfway there since there is an option to lower your weapon, if possible they should find time to add an option so that your character will always go into low ready when not ADS or intentionally keeping the gun pointed forward.
Me and my friends just switched the low ready to the same button as sprint (maj) it's easy to hold at all times and allows to rarely flag others. It's a workaround but it works in the meantime, and you can still sprint when needed.
Gunfighter mod does it if you're interested. Makes the rifle placement more realistic and frees up some of real place on your screen among its other many features
Haha that I do, when I’m going through I try my best to markdown where I’m changing topics but sometimes I forget and just have to rewatch a couple times to get the stamps right.
The sitrep menu is something I was surprised this game didn't already have. I've been playing Zero Hour and the ability to look at a map is insanely useful for planning.
No drones is definitely a bit of a bummer. Those would've been great for coordinating the opening moments of missions, before the squads made their way indoors. I guess that could be why the devs decided to pull the plug on them (just how useful would they have been beyond the first few minutes?), but I still would've liked to have seen them either way. The more tools we have at our disposal, the better IMO. Oh well.
It would be realistical and cool, but knowing how people are, they would just exploit them and break the game in order to speedrun missions and juke npcs.
From a pure implementation perspective I get it, Because now you have to account for all the detail that's now needed when you allow the player to move in a 3D space, and from angles previously unviewable before, which can take up a lot of resources to implement especially on more complex maps. similar story with snipers. Post-launch would be more feasible IMHO.
Barricading is HUUUGE! Was thinking about it! I've been in so many fights where suspects run back into their rooms and just re-engage immediately behind the doors and it's impossible to heal and also reload in those unless you have multiple SWAT. Having them move and stay in one room while still being able to move/hide/change rooms will surely make fights slower, more fluid, and more life-like
They are considering adding the ability for suspect AI's to move mattresses or other things in front of doors to make breaching more difficult but are ruling out what is essentially a switch that turns off lights? That does not sound right to me.
it really is a shame that drones and snipers or marksmen aren't gonna be a thing ryoukaherself made a video brainstorming ideas from new weapons (SIG SG 552, G3A3 with a HK-79 GL, Steyr AUG-A3 along with the unavailable weapons like the MPL, M14 and G3), along with a suburban house that has a randomised layout and a airport map can certainly show the potential of snipers and DMRs
The game is fantastic, my biggest gripe has been the Swat AI. I'm really happy to see it getting addressed very soon. I should still probably convince my friends to play RoN with me, though... Thanks for this video, I didn't feel like listening to a 3 hour AMA.
From what I understood, it seems like LS commander WILL be the campaign. Idk if I just misunderstood or if that's actually just a secondary campaign kind of thing.
Me and my friend already used the old shoothouse as a PVP area anyways. The most hilarious shit happens when one of us decides to bring out gas or we start nailing each other with 40mm. Also, is there news if we're gonna be able to take the 2nd man spot in the stack? Because being the last man going in is getting kinda' boring.
No word on that yet. I suggested as such in a previous video so I’m hoping the devs caught wind of the community wanting to be able to take spots in a stack.
Just go in first. Stack them up, go in and give the command when you are trough the door. Thats what i do. The benefit is, you don't have the last guy blocking the entrance in front of you

Also with tasers if the probes are still in the person you can press the trigger again to get then taser to give the person another electric shock so that would be fun to see and maybe after the full release make a gamemode that allows you to play as a regular cop and your responding to calls like a liquor store hold up

This game would go very far with vr if they end up implementing it and they do so well, Ready or Not seems perfect for vr. They should definitely make it a part of their game. :)
I haven't felt actual excitement around a modern video game ever since the eighth gen of consoles, with the big wigs taking full advantage of the industry and have progressively damaged studios and devs by making them release over ambitious, unfinished, flat, overpriced and contentless games for the past 9 years, which just gets worse and worse. RoN has actual passion and direction behind it, it feels its being developed like a 7th gen AAA game with the actual game being up in that level of fun. Fact that the game runs smoother then most console versions of AAA games nowadays in its beta form actually shows there is legitimate potential for an actual worthwhile game to come out of this. Shoulder tapping is a nonverbal method for entry teams to communicate to each other that they are readied up. It makes things smoother having physical confirmation and allows for a point man to not take their eyes off of their sector to know everyone is ready.

I dont see the drone or sniper/marksmen or any long range features making it into the game. Long range does not work well in this game for some reason, like yelling at contacts from across an alley, they act like you arn't even there. The AI doesnt like distance it seems. Also there is no reason Swat would restrict their officers to EITHER a flashlight or laser or IR laser, also IR laser not having a standard mode? Come on man. Not even an IR flood mode
Hi, love your content! Ready or Not is finally on Boosteroid 😍😍😍I want to try this game on a cloud gaming platform because I have a weak laptop. I searched for a long time and realized that Boosteroid would be the best option for me. What do you think about cloud gaming? Have you ever used such services? Btw, it would be interesting to see your gameplay on Boosteroid too
As far as cloud gaming goes I’m not opposed to it whatsoever. I think it’s great for people who can’t afford top tier rigs. Then again you generally have to have pretty good internet in order to not suffer from input lag. I personally have never used cloud gaming services, I like hosting things on my hardware that I can control but I’m also a bit OCD about that stuff so.
Having a NPC crew move in after a while would also help keep games moving. No need to hunt around after everything is done and makes it more immersive too.

Even Unreal Engine 3 did that via Rainbow Six Vegas 2. It may not be the most tactical game out there, but they got that bit right.

I don't approve of cosmetics. This is a SWAT game not Call of Duty.

Just curious, does anyone think the npcs are too easy to kill??🤔🤔
Ground branch so much better.
