This is nuts I have the same subs at 1ohm but having trouble picking the right amp to push them at 1ohm I was running clarion 1500 but stop working. I have AP 3k long block amp laying around not sure if I want to use that. Was thinking of getting taramps, what do you think? Thanks
Hmmmm, well depending on your electrical system that will factor in what amp you want. I actually was looking into taramps as well but I already had an audiopipe 1500 so I just baught another one to strap them together. The audiopipe 3k is actually 2 audiopipe 1500 boards linked together internally or strapped. Which is essentially the same as mine setup except I have 2 separate amps instead of one large one. The 3k audiopipe would probably work great as long as you have good electrical to keep your voltage up. My voltage was dipping down to mid 11s which isnt great but good enough for me. Since you already have the 3k I would try that out, but I cant say much about the taramps as I have never used one, they put out great power for the price and seem fairly efficient but I don't know how well they hold up. That's why I stuck with the audiopipes, I never had an issue with them ever, even when running super hot low voltage they are very resilient amps.
Thanks these are great subs that perform well for the cost! And as for my wiring these subs are dual 4 ohm coils so the subs are wired together in parallel bringing the impedance down to 1 ohm. Since the amps are strapped together they share the impedance of 1ohm so each amp is seeing a half ohm load to total up to 1 ohm. Of course after impedance rise and other factors it's much higher than that but great power output anyway. Let me know if you'd like to know more or have any other questions :D
@@brizzmoto6229 hey man i am looking at doing this exact same set up with 2 APMN1500 and bdc4’s. Will the amps handle half ohm or should i get the dual 2ohms and wire them at 2 so when strapped they see 1ohm please help. Email me if you can lukeglavan@gmail.com
I dont know if anyone else experienced this problem but they must have had a small amount if glue on the inner dust cap and they popped off and u could here it rattling off the cone and outer dust cap. So I used a razor blade to cut the outer cap open and used e6000 to glue em back on the one came off after a few months and the other after a bout a year so far the e6000 has held very well and I doubt they will come off again. Other than that these subs have performed extremely well.
Clean power helps a lot with keeping a sub alive lol. I sold this setup awhile ago subs were still going when I sold em. I'm running a DD9912 currentley with the same amp setup.
@@brizzmoto6229 i have a Harmony Audio HA-A1500.1 that pushes 2800 watts certified at 1ohm on a amp dyno and i had it at 2 ohms on like half gain had plenty of clean power but i was on like an hour long trip. But damn you definitly upgraded thos 9900 are hard to beat!

Yeah I dont think the alternator was charging at the point in time or my regualtor is messed up. Cause this car will also charge at 15 volts at times but it fluctuates quite a bit even without the system drawing any power. Your impala probably has the same alt as mine which is a 130 amp as well. I believe the voltage regualtor allows the alternator to charge on and off probly to increase alternator life? I'm not sure but that makes sense to me.
@@Head-eaz great I actually dont have this setup any more but I believe fully in audiopipe equipment. Anything I've had from them has all been great stuff the 1500 and BD2 subs are a great combo that's what I ran for a long time before I got a second amp.

PPI Black Ice 7000.1 will do the trick. Dyno @4665 watts @ 1ohm

Nice set up! I got the same subs, why are you running a amp for each sub? And how did you get it down to .5 ohm when they're dual 4 ohm speakers?
