Hi Cal thanks for another fantastic video , love how your cook up are nice any easy to follow i will trying this one my self . keep up the great work mate. Look forward to more great videos
Nice one off fish , lunch did look good , interesting that you caught the bass on the mullet colour 👍, tackle house feed shallow ( mullet ) I’ll try it next week south Cornwall, cheers Cal
@@mitchellsteele3878 Personally, I really like a lure in a mullet colour. Most shallow divers work well in that colour too. Good luck in Cornwall mate 🎣
Beautiful fish. I went bass fishing for the first time in my life this summer in Southern France near Montpellier and I must say the fish were not biting. We went out from shore at least 15 times. I did catch a 52 cm fish and my son caught a 57 and a 50. We did eat them and the best way IMO, is to BBW them whole with scales. Reallly simple. So much overfishing in Southern France , and people DO NOT respect limit size rules...I found it shameful.
@@rumcoke9123 Nice one mate. That’s good you managed to find a few given the difficulties. I know what you mean about the limitations. Unfortunately there are many places throughout Europe where no one pays attention to size limits. It’s a shame some treat it like that. Well done on the fish!
Hi Cal, well done, think I need to get some smaller shads. I've been having a few fg knots fail on me lately, what do you think about fishing braid straight through? Do you think fluoro is essential to success?
@@selfdestructint Cheers mate. I don’t think fluoro is essential no. I think it’s more of a personal preference. I use a leader purely because I always have. I like that little bit of extra give and stretch at the end of the line.
Super bass Cal, your perseverance paid off nicely. Just a note to your other subscribers/viewers. Somehow my notifications for your videos got switched off, just this channel, so, check your notifications or you'll miss out on Cal's uploads. 😊
@@johnrickards1908 Thank you mate! Yeah I’ve actually had that happen with a few channels I follow. I’m not sure why youtube does that. Thanks for the heads up 👍🏼
Could you please help me with braid what lb and brand do you use please and what lb leader to go with it thankyou love the vids I’ve learnt a lot just started bass fishing with lures on south coast uk tia
@@ginja-14 Thanks mate! I use 20lb braid from samson fishing. I also use a 20lb fluorocarbon leader. For bass fishing, anything from 15-30lb braid will be fine. If you’re using a lighter rod and lighter lures then go for a lighter braid. If what you’re using is heavier, then step up the braid. That’s a rough guide anyway.
@@ginja-14 No colour doesn’t matter. Some people like a green or a blue to match the water colour. I usually prefer this, but recently I’ve been using a high viz yellow which hasn’t made any difference to my catch rate. Personally, I like a moss green braid.
Another cracking video Cal.
What a simple way to cook a lovely Bass, well done 🐟🎣.

This for me is what fishing is all about. Enjoying time by the water and then cooking the fruits of one’s labour.
