    I was hoping this was going to be the main out of Englewood, through Dayton and Liberty. I was lost until I recognized the long bridge across Lake Houston. Great video!

    On the former route of MoPac's Orleanian and Houstonian, which competed with SP's Sunset and Argonaut.

    Thanks for posting. Been wondering what the Houston sub MT1 looked like in recent times with all new PTC installs from Chaney to T26. Havent been on here since 2020.

    A few years ago, I saw a video done like this out the back window, and somehow they made the playback go in REVERSE. It was so cool to seem like you're looking FORWARD. 😅

    These are great. I work for UP but I haven't been out here since 2006, crazy to see how much stuff has changed.

    Mr Bashay, does UP practice directional running, with the former MoPac running eastbound and the former SP running westbound? Or, does UP assign a route based on traffic density or train symbol? While well maintained, the former MoPac line seems like a secondary route with lower speed limits. Thank you for sharing the video. I have only ridden the SP line. When I went to New Orleans in the late 1960’s, the MoPac had exited Houston to New Orleans service. The “Sunset Limited” was coaches only with the Automat car. I believe it was 1970 when the “Sunset Limited” regained the diner and a sleeping car, but went to triweekly service. Sadly, it’s still triweekly under Amtrak.

      @@davidbashay6286I love your videos. I collect insulators and was wondering if you ever see any telegraph poles with glass insulators in your travels.

    How long did it take to get to Beaumont from Houston? I thought that trains were faster than this one. Damn!

      Yeah you would think it'll be faster. But it was 2 hours

      Unfortunately UP sends #2 on their Beaumont Subdivision through the woods which has a speed limit of 60 unlike the Houston Sub along 90 which has a limit of 75. #1 takes the Houston Sub though

    I greatly enjoy your rear view rides..it takes a lot of patience and fortitude. I am trying to trace your route on Google Earth. Identification of junctions and towns would be much appreciated. The rear view is far superior to the side view which is just a green wall of vegetation. This is as close to a cab ride that we will ever get. I noticed in an earlier video that Flatonia got missed, Not serious but well worth another ride! Honestly we don't need to be looking at the interior or eating. You seem to have an stupid troll who writes like a 8 year old. You're doing everything just fine...although some identification with captions would be nice. Looking forward to your three hour ride...New Orleans???

      @huskerhank9896 first of all, yes you're right, coming from San Antonio, I missed quite a few towns, Flatonia, Schulenberg, and most definitely Columbus. The reason for that was because I was using my phone and actually standing up and holding it while we were moving and after that hour and a half, I got a lil tired and went sit, at least until getting to Eagle Lake. On this one I just did to Beaumont, I had a super strong suction cup that held it up for the entire two hour ride. I was able to catch a nap because it never fell. As for the 3 hour ride, in December, I'm looking at doing New Orleans to New Iberia, my hometown over the the Christmas break. I love the rear view because like you said, those side views only give you countless trees and is quite boring. Thanks for watching and for your compliments. I'm still kinda new at doing this but some captions are be coming soon. Just gotta figure out how to add all the extras

      And here I thought that a railfan was exhausting himself for my pleasure....and it was a suction cup LOL Looking forward to more rides.

    U don't have any likes on this and it's a two hr vid. U show it from the rear of the train and u talk or visit the train inside.

    • @davidbashay6286
      @davidbashay6286  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah Mr Andy, you're right it is lacking the liked. Kinda new at this. I just thought the better train videos are shown from the rear. On a positive note, it's up 1.8k views after just 24 hours. Any tips you may have to enhance these train videos will be greatly appreciated

      @davidbashay6286 show ur face on there and yr room that ur in the train. Show ur food that u eat talk to ur audience

    • @davidbashay6286
      @davidbashay6286  4 місяці тому +1

      @andylang4432 only issues with that suggestion... rode in coach, so there was no room, brought my own snacks, so didn't eat anything that was sold on the train. However, yes I do need to start showing my face. I'm just a little camera shy and haven't gotten over that yet. I'll definitely work on that for my next video, which will be around December for a 3 hour ride that I'm planning
