Always enjoy your interview episodes, Pete. Thanks to Ross Jennings for taking time to appear and talk about Haken's new album and other items and as always, thanks to you, too, Pete.
Pete, You never fail to surprise us! Loved the new album, the live shows and the merch Haken is offering. It would all be perfect if one could get one of those button-up shirts the band uses in their performances.
Pete, thanks for the great interview! Discovered Haken by accident during the pandemic, Canary Yellow. Blew my mind! Been a fan ever since. I actually discovered your channel from watching Haken on UA-cam, your album rankings. Now I watch your channel regularly. Will see Haken for the first time this weekend, absolutely can’t wait!
Agree with Pete, when you have a vocalist like Ross, with such a distinctive voice and versatile vocal delivery, you want to showcase him as much as possible. On a sidenote, caught the band live this past Monday, and they put on hell of a performance. If you haven't seen Haken live, do yourself a favor and attend one of the shows, you won't regret it.
Fantastic interview. It’s always a joy to see famous musicians I love who are down to earth. Haken is easily my top current Prog band. Every song is an odyssey. Really hope to see these guys live someday.
Ross is an absolutely top guy, I've had the honour of meeting him a couple of times now and he's always been a lovely person to chat to. I first met him at an acoustic solo show he did supporting Devin Townsend in Cambridge in 2022, and then just over a month ago seeing Haken in London with BTBAM. I'd been there since about 3 in afternoon, it was so worth it 🤣 Great interview Pete! I'd say at this stage Fauna is my album of the year (although the new Enslaved is damn close). It's gotten better and better each time I've heard it, and I'm still discovering new things with it with each listen. I don't think it quite topples Affinity as my favourite album, but it is still an utterly mind-blowing album in its own right. I listen to both Ross and Charlie's solo albums on an extremely regular basis aswell, and both of those were very comfortably in my top 10 albums in their respective years. I loved the album Ross released with Neal Morse and Nick D'Virgilio last year aswell, that has some beautiful tracks on it. All the guys in Haken are some of the best musicians around and some of the best songwriters in the prog world right now aswell, a truly incredible band and all great human beings aswell. Can't wait to see them live again 🤘🤘
Excellent interview, Pete! Never knew about artists including an extra disc of instrumental versions of the songs. Interesting idea that works for some bands, especially progressive rock.
Mr. Jennings is such a wonderful man. He's always so humble. I resisted watching this video as to not have anything spoiled, but I was glad he kept the setlist a secret throughout it. Thank you so much, Pete, for providing such a nice surprise of an interview. I'm seeing them this Saturday in Charlotte with my brother. Love you guys!
Great interview Pete. I really want to go to the show in Chicago, but the venue has no seating. I may be too old to stand for that long. We'll see. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every Haken album is great. Fauna is my favorite Haken album. Wife and I can't get enough of Fauna. We lost count of how many voice tones and approaches Ross takes. Animal spirits fill each song. So many musical treats along the way. Several amazing riffs run for a measure or two...never to appear again. Most bands would scream, "Don't waste all those riffs on one song! Spread them out." Not Haken. Like Sabbath before them Haken drenches the vinyl with an aural oblation of sonic treasure.
The new Haken album sounds really refreshing... The riskier experimental songs they absolutely nailed. I like the use of arppeggiations as well, maybe more prevalent in prog rock than metal. New prog metal in general does too much Meshuggah, Periphery, Dream Theater or Animals as Leaders and that's getting cliche. Fauna's gonna hold up really well because of its unique flavor.
Ross, I love you man!
Pete, I love you man!
Wonderful to see these types of connections. epic meets epic.

Good interview, Pete. Fauna is my front runner for Album of the Year
Totally agree. It was stunning on the first listen and it gets better every time.
I'm right there with you George. It's the best thing I've listened to this year.
I agree. Dense on first listen. But, after my second listen, it was like peeling an orange, draw dropping stuff.

Cool interview.
Agree with George Lamie, Fauna is ( for the momen) the best record of 2023
Ross and Haken are so damn incredible♥
Great interview Pete, i just saw Haken in Montreal on Saturday and it was Fantastic!!!
I got into this band in 2020 and their music felt like a familiar friend. Still working my way through their discography. Perfection. 🤘
Excellent interview, Pete! Never knew about artists including an extra disc of instrumental versions of the songs. Interesting idea that works for some bands, especially progressive rock.
Great interview; Fauna is an excellent album
Very cool. I play the new album often. It's always right by my CD player.
I'm excited to get to see Haken in DC next weekend!

Fauna is easily the best album of the year so far. I've listened to it at least 25 times in full
Nice score! Can't wait to see them on this tour.
Saw them and BTBAM in Porto, Portugal in February and it was awesome. Ross sounded amazing. Don't miss it.
Good stuff
Boston Tuesday night!
Freakin' amazing. George Lamie do not skip them...
TOP VIDEO...
Seen them in Glasgow. They were fantastic.

Awe poop, they're not coming anywhere near me. Hopefully they're recording the tour so they can release a live album CD or Blu-ray video (or both).
Elephants Never Forget on track for song of the year
