    gday mate aghh magy island know it well where did you launch paleranda or the river , used to go fishing in the river a bit at night with my brother in law and also the rockpool ,what are the cobia like to eat ? great video they sure do fight them nth queensland fish take care and watch those macki teeth .

      It depends on the weather which ramp I launch from. I find Cobia a fairly high quality fish to eat. Mackerel certainly require plenty of respect when being handled. Thanks for your questions!👍

      @@returnoutdoors2210 Gday mate townsville has changed heaps in 30 years since i was posted there last when i first arrived in 1981 it was like a large country town i have ex army mates who live there still , good memories of collecting nippers of the flats with a pump and prawning in the creeks .

      The lure I catch the mackerel on is a Halco Twisty ( 20g or 30g). Jarvis Walker make a lure that is very similar and equally productive. Good luck and thanks for watching!👍

      There are very strict rules and penalties for taking undersize fish in Queensland. Not all the fish are good to eat. Thanks for your question.

    After you ripped a hole in his belly removing the hook, you threw him back? Does the fish have a chance of surviving to old age? LOL!! You got a life jacket on under that shirt? I guess the boating safety "Down Under" isn't like it is here Biloxi, MS USA!!

      I’m sure the fish had a better chance of survival being released than the alternative of keeping it!😉 It is compulsory to carry safety equipment including PFD’s (life jackets) but it is not required they be worn the whole time. Thanks for your comment!👍
