Gday mate gee i envy you ,went out today and got 3 lousy squid , no gar no whiting nothing asking other blokes at the ramp and same story nada . then you come along prawn sangas and muddies for tea , good onya mate boy i wish it was me mud crab here if you can get them are like gold (or the same price) bluey season is coming to an and soon so till next season no crabs ,snapper ban still has another 2 years to go anyway love seeing you catch . take care .

Larger prawns can gather in big numbers in deeper sections of our rivers and along mud flats following a good wet season. If word gets out it can get fairly competitive here as well. Thanks for your comment! Cheers, Brad.

in Indonesia it is very difficult to get large crabs, especially in the city where I am now, you are very lucky, it is very easy to get large crabs & success is always my brother

I personally like the out going tide based on the belief the crabs are moving off the mud flats and out of the mangroves as the tide recedes. This should provide a longer window of opportunity to crab before they move back into areas I cannot get to and set pots. Thanks for your question. Cheers, Brad.
