I was in Glencoe that Friday, but in a little pod, I woke to quite alot of snow. There were people thinking of walking on from Glencoe over the devils staircase. You made the right decision, you followed your gut. Regardless of the forecast never go against your gut! This shows reality, sometimes you have to stop.
What a bummer that the weather turned so bad. But always ….. safety first ….. and never put yourself or your potential rescuers in harms way through stupid decisions. Thanks for your videos. Just seven weeks to go for my WHW adventure, my first multi-day hike. Baggage service and hard accom for this old man though.
I only discovered your channel yesterday, I start the WHW on Friday for the 2nd time & you have given me some very useful information, thank you 👍🏼 I've only skimmed over your content as time is running out with packing, checking & nervously looking at the weather forecast! 😂 I'm envious of you living in Falkirk and being surrounded with a stunning hiking playground. I've got an 8hr drive tomorrow from mid Suffolk to Milngavie. Last year I chose the high road but this year I am wild camping on the low, possibly trespassing on yours & you brothers private spot ! As I done the official route last year I'm taking your Balmaha detour, the low road to Inversnaid and I've heard of a different route into Fort William avoiding the road walk in. There has got to be thousands of WHW /Hiking based videos on here with only a small few that capture my interest. Your Chanel is 1 of those. You present your self well, entertaining, informative & I have a similar gear set up as you. I purchased a Durston at the end of last year of which this adventure is its 1st real test. Anyway I've gone on way too long, carry on the good work ! p.s good decision made 👍🏼

We completed out WHW adventure on Thursday . The weather was wild , But we enjoyed every minute , but certainly isn't to be underestimated , Sorry to hear you didn't reach the end on this trip. Look forward to your upcoming adventures !!!!!!!
Glad you managed to get your trip finished. Having completed it twice previously, I didn't have the pressure to climb into the snow, rain and wind. The trail will still be there tomorrow. 😁 Thanks for watching. G ♥️ 🏴

I have Ben Dorain, that we passed on the way to Bridge of Orchy to do, in the next two weeks. Also the Affric Kintail Way is happening at the beginning of July, as well as many more walks and mountains. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you all. What a week we had! Yes it’s a shame, but I’m sure the weather reports were say 50 gusting 80 absoulty the right decision not to go on. Great story through the whole journey. Very very helpful for me as I’m wild camping the lot so it was good to see the spots to camp at. Also I like the info about the kings house hotel . I will plan to eat my own food and give the place a wide birth . Maybe visit it in a suit and tie 🙄
You have to make the right call. You were safe in Kinlochleven and it wasnt safe to go up the Lairig. Forecasts can be totally different from glen to glen. The only reason to keep going would have been if you had been in a remote place and the only option was to walk out. At the end pf the day making the safe decision and not puttng yourself and others at risk was the correct call. Supporting Falkirk though... 😅😅😅 Mon the Jags!

Shame you couldn’t go on as planned but no shame in calling it. No one wants to hear of missing people (or worse) on these magnificent walks. I’m doing the WHW in January as a 50th birthday adventure BUT am well prepared to not be doing it in equal measure if the weather is forecast to dangerous extent.
