Around 1940 when I was about four years old I began to learn songs like Daisy Bell from my mother and older siblings. I didn't learn nursery rhymes and songs as some kids did I learned what I heard from the radio and my family. I am now listening to the initial recordings of these old songs on youtube and am amazed that at 84 I still remember the lyrics. Unfortunately, I have no one with which to share my enjoyment, it's the downside of living so long.
