Merry Christmas y’all! Just to clear the air, No, the Muffkin off the original engine wouldn’t fit in place of the new one with that fan housing. If it would have fit, I would have used it. Thanks fer watchin
That's pretty par for the course. That's why they call it working on stuff. You keep working until you get it to work. Or you've had enough. That happens sometimes too.
I did the exact same swap a couple of years ago. I had to buy a 1” to 3/4” sleeve adapter for the crank to fit the fan, and buy a curved exhaust pipe off of eBay and mounted the old cylindrical muffler from my old Briggs. Works great!
Same here, adapter for the crank. For the muffler, I cut the pipe and added about a 3” extension and used the original muffler. That’s been like 5 years ago and still going strong.
Merry Christmas, Taryl and Crew! Now, give us another edition of a Fireside Chat with the bloke from England doing a technical service manual episode!!!!!
I did that exact swap about 10 years ago. The muffler was definitely a sticking point. I used the Predator muffkin with a piece 1" od 90deg. Tubing . Still runs great.
Oil filler hole is designed so the avg. knucklehead cannot overfill the engine oil, it'll spillover - Taryl easy-hole redesign would throw the entire knucklehead world into chaos.
Did the same job about 6 years ago. I cut the pipe off of the mufkin about mid way and added a 3/4" 45 degree street el. Brazed the pieces together and works great. The mufkin tilts in more but is a little higher so there's plenty of room for the spark plug and it now clears the fan housing. Great engine. Starts first pull every time.
You need to cut the pipe from muffler and weld a threaded nipple on it and use plumbing part. Like 45 degree and 90 degrees and then a straight cigar muffler.
I was listening to the song and thought, "um, I am not sure those are the words," and I heard the editor put the confusion noise overtop and knew, ah, okay. Thank you, editor.
Did this a few years ago. I guess I took the easy way out, I cut off the Predator muffkin and welded a steel 90 degree pipe fitting to it. Screwed on a Briggs hot dog muffler for an 8 hp and ran it until I sold it, when I decided to go with a backpack blower. Love the Predators, but I did bust the crank on one when the leaf vac ingested a bigger stone. Engine still ran like new, but was useless with it broke flush with the side cover.
Merry Christmas to the entire Taryl family! Thanks for sharing your fantastic repairs information, taking us to the swap shows and bringing Tears to my eyes as I'm cracking up Laughing 😂at the skits you guys are soooooooo funny thank you so very much ❤❤❤!!
Great show guys. I knew that job was no match for you. Also I found out if you put bees wax on those wood drawers they pull out nice 😊 thanks for sharing buddy 👍
Merry Christmas to you guys. Why didn't you try the muffle that was on the bad engine? Or at least show us why it wouldn't fit. Love the videos and skits. Keep up the great content
With a little outside the box thinking you saved the customer money and extended the life of the piece of equipment as well great work…👍👍 Merry Christmas 🎄
Those fan blades were shot they should be almost touching you can weld plates to them or he needs a new one it would suck alot more I just weld ours up but they're mounted on zero turn decks belt driven off the deck aswell
Merry Christmas to all and have your turkey Dinner tonight! Nice Harbor Freight Goose neck video. Say Hi to Little Johnny at the orphanage for us, Funny boy that Johnny is.🎄🎄🎄🎆🎆🦃🍺 There's your Ham's Liquid dinner.
Merry Christmas Taryl, Faryl, Junior, Slippers and Elkskins! Really love the show, and love your humor Taryl. I Hope you guys all have a very merry Christmas!🎄
Chopping hands off LOL. Just like the old days. I love it. Great job fitting a horrible freight engine on that leaf sucker. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, the gang and all the Grass Rats out there.
I did this exact same swap about 5 years ago on our TracVac. Yep, the muffkin was the sticking point. I got a little creative and made it work. Still runs great today, those predators are pretty decent engines. Oxygen/propane works pretty good too for a torch setup, and propane is lots cheaper than aphetamine (acetylene for the non-grass rats). But, you do use more oxygen with propane.
Happy holiday season! One thing you could use the copper Anti Seize for is for installing antennas on cars: This works for me every time I have to install an antenna for CB Radio or something else because: - It repells water - It conducts and makes shure to get a good ground connection - Water wouldn't wash it away any time soon - It does not seem to corrode! Merry Christmas & God's Blessings be upon you and your family.
Thanks Taryl nice job👍🏻
Happy Holidays to everyone
I bought one of those cheap motors for an edger. I can't even get the thing to run. If you pour gas in the carb. it runs.
Merry Christmas to Taryl and crew!

Merry Christmas to everyone at Grass Rat's Garage! Even Mr. Cameraman!
He is so happy with his new work center. Merry Christmas and thank you wonderful folks for working so hard for us.
rubber hose over bolt and air hammer for centering
Thumbs up great video, there is a serious side to Taryl shop, its a commercial machine, a muffler cover won't be missed
Merry Christmas!
Merry Xmas to you'll.
I can just hear Elkskins: "Heat it up! Heat it up! Heat it up!"...
Sometimes I wonder if Elkskins is really referring to the mowers etc... when he says "fire it up!" 😆 Merry Christmas Taryl and Co.
you got the HEMI head model Taryl. you needed the other predator model with the standard style head and then your muffler might of work.
I think your song selections were perfect. No butcher

man that was just like down town Tijuana ! with out the toilets overflowing !
Would the muffler off the old engine fit on the new engine?
It might but the exhaust port on the old engine is in a different place. Which is why it doesn't have the muffler clearance problem.
To fill the oil on those engines, I have a squeeze bottle. It works great. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, to all of Ya. I thought the vac was going to get you in the private parts area it sucked so good.
I cut the muffler pipe and extend it with a pipe then weld it. It's worked on my fleet of blowers.
Best thing *_not_* on a boys Christmas list Clothes
Taryl. you couldn't use the muffkin from the old engine ?
Merry Christmas from mass.
I love listening to these while working in my shop 😂
Those predators are good little engines. Likely made in the same factory as the new breaks and scrap em equivalent.
I would have loved to hear Little Johnny tell Santa to 'Pony up'. 😂😂
Merry Christmas y'all
Engine will fit on this trac vac because of taryl is the one that can get it done with a great thing s he knows
Always fair, Taryl and fun!. That was my thought heat it up bend it in. Welder persons and mechanics are cool.

Taryl, you need to make an adapter to use the older Briggs muffler on the HF engines, with the pipe threads, and sell it in your merchandise store.
Merry Christmas Taryl and Jr...can't wait to see more in 2024....🎶cherry red🎶
Merry Christmas Grass Rat garage and Elkskins
Merry Christmas Taryl !
