I loved the addition of fake players as well. The way you can tell they're NPCs is that their names are sometimes spelled slightly different and they walk instead of Sprint. I know it would require a lot of permissions, but something I wish they'd add is an ability for the fake players to essentially record and replay certain lines of dialogue that the player their impersonating has said during the round just to throw people off even more.
Tbh when I heard this game was a thing, I thought it was going to be a buggy mess. I haven't played it, but from what I've seen from watching others play it, the game looks surprisingly well put together and the VOIP quality is impressive.

I played the beta and it made me a buyer because of how fun it was. But i didn't expect it to be so much better than the beta. progression-wise, no microtransactions so far, and is so well optimized. It was hard for me to run the beta, i couldn't even run the main menu properly, and i had to run the game in low settings with less than 40fps, but now i run everything 60fps (on medium, need to upgrade motherboard so i can install a new cpu i bought). If theres something like a season pass in the future, i'm sure it'll just be cosmetics. Hell, there might not even be season pass at all.
I earned my freedom few days ago and finished the game. In my experience I had 3 bugs, sometimes getting stuck on exit tube, Not being able to move after sliding and sometimes becoming one with a chair at the start of a trial.
Jesus, the characters you play as in this game gets harmed about as brutally as Ethan Winters just before shrugging it off like it was a mere tickle lol. Also I really like the voice chat distortion and echo when you go under psychosis. Thats a neat little audio effect.

Why the hell did they even call this Outlast to begin with? Because this is subjectively NOT an Outlast game... It's completely different, it's like they just started a new horror series and only put Outlast in the title because they know that just slapping the Outlast name on it would draw in tons of players due to just that alone. The voice chat is so cool. At first I was like “is that an echo and directional audio in the chat?” And then after hearing all the effects I was convinced this has to be the coolest implementation of chat I’ve heard in a multiplayer game.

IMO this new direction that Outlast is being taken in is an enormous missed opportunity because they had a chance to implement a super refined melee combat system, ala Condemned 2, but they just chose to half ass it with a shitty throwing mechanic. Probably gonna skip this game even though I'm a huge fan of Outlast.
No enemies, no one chasing you around scaring you half to death, this isn't a good outlast game, a big let down. Grouping up with people kills the environment of a horror game, not scary at all. Should have stuck to the asylum instead of this nonsense, have no idea what they were trying to accomplish here.
I am amazed with how this game was put out, honestly. With *mostly* every other game with a series that involved coop; ending up in absolute chaos from the amount of bugs. This one was a lot different even with the small bugs that it has. I can't wait for more updates about this.

I like that Charlie is into scary things. Its just unfortunate that he's become so desensitized to anything scary that he openly mocks it at every turn. I think its good to recognize that something is scary or unnerving without having to make a joke out of it every single time. Seeking out the weird and strange content is what got me into watching moist in the first place. I just hope if its good genuine content that he likes he doesnt have to make a mockery of it to show that hes not scared.
agreed, I loved outlast 1 when it came out (same with whistle blower). Outlast 2 was just kind of a mid outlast game, now outlast trials just feels like it wants to get the popularity from the dead by daylight styled games. As well as having those dumb whacky enemies that a lot of modern horror games have, where original outlast had much more grounded enemies that made sense within the context of the game

I think its good to recognize that something is scary or unnerving without having to make a joke out of it every single time. Seeking out the weird and strange content is what got me into watching moist in the first place. I just hope if its good genuine content that he likes he doesnt have to make a mockery of it to show that hes not scared.

agreed, I loved outlast 1 when it came out (same with whistle blower). Outlast 2 was just kind of a mid outlast game, now outlast trials just feels like it wants to get the popularity from the dead by daylight styled games. As well as having those dumb whacky enemies that a lot of modern horror games have, where original outlast had much more grounded enemies that made sense within the context of the game
