Most of the tutorials at the moment are Redshift, which is not very friendly to octane users, and I hope to consider the ideas of some of our users, I am also a member
Redshift and Octane are super similar so learning one means you should be able to use the other easy enough. We'd love to cover all renderers but as a small team we just don't have the capacity, so for now we're concentrating on Redshift as it's the most popular renderer for Cinema 4D and is even developed by Maxon. But we still have a load of Octane stuff on our site;)
I am confused, what about the other lights ? My dome light makes it whole washed out. I don't which light I have to have to get good volumetric light as the light with caustics is not sufficient to make the fog appear
@@CGShortcuts yes, I finally managed to get good rays while having a nice fog by cranking the fog way up as well as the rays. Doesn't seem very realistic to me but the render looks pretty good
I have a doubt. If you render the particles and the volumetric lighting as AOVs; do you have to include them too when you render the scene? I guess you don’t but my mind is confused right now 💀
You could definietlly just set them up in your main render if you want to get the look right in C4D - I rendered them seperately so I could test if it actually looked good and so I could dial it back a bit in post - and that way I could easily remove it if I didnt like it without having to re-render the whole scene.
doh, I forgot to take that bit off the title - its usually there by default because we usually have the free version of the file, but this one uses our paid member assets. Loads of other free stuff on the site though, sorry about that uinspiree, I've fixed the title now
There's a link straight to the project file below the video, we usually have a free version of all project files but as this one contains stuff from our Gobos set it's members only.
Can u please make a tutorial on water splash explosion! Super realistic
We'll see what we can do;)

Awesome
No worries, loads more tutorials and C4D resources at cgshortcuts.com (you can also get help directly with your projects).

you might need to increase the exposure of the light. Take a look at the project file for the full lighting setup

The project file do not seem free, that's part of your "prenium content" on your website
Sorry about that Nathan, this one was a member request and uses some of our paid assets so not free this time, just the tutorial.
@@CGShortcuts NP, thanks for the tutorial
but it's not free project

@@CGShortcuts no problem, great video. thank you!
you do not make it easy to find these textures, and from what I can see, you have to be a paid member in order to get these caustics files.
