Leigh had to go to St John's - Newfoundland - Canada to do a training course for work.
I came with him and we made the most of being there.
We started to hike the EAST COAST TRAiL. 336 km of challenging and beautiful coastal hiking from Topsail Beach to Cappahayden.
In this video : day 1 of our hike. Stay tuned for the rest of the adventure.
Join us as we travel the world overland, exploring the cultures and traditions of all the countries we visit.
In our Land Rover Defender camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.
Always grateful for you guys to take us to the most beautiful and breathtaking places in the world NFLd is on my list ..thank you guys for great videos
Gladly to say, it took a while but: Uuuuuuu YEEEEAAHHH BABBY from THIS side of the world!!! Canada is so underrated, not much content to watch, I already follow VanWifes and VanLife Sagas, such an amazing Country. Always a compulsive dream to watch Stephy packing for an adventure. ¡¡Pura Vida!!
Welcome to Canada.
Wow so many midges. I'm sure it would drive me mad. Great video again.
Super Video. Thanks for taking us with you!
I retired after 37 years in oil and gas industry I was a ruff neck, a Driller, a Well logging engineer, A process engineer, and ended my career as a lead senior geologist for BHP Petroleum working the Permian Basin( found 1.6 billion barrels of easily recoverable oil that had been passed by in the past)
I absolutely love that this episode is in my homeland. Sad to say I've never been as far east as Newfoundland. Looks incredible
I see you met our little friends, the black flies!
Amazing video with beautiful country side
Beautiful part of the world, Had a girlfriend that got a job in St John's from the uk.
Loved visiting the place, specially in the winter.
Great memories and hangovers from going out around George street 😊
I am from Newfoundland but now live in Alberta. Great to see some beautiful scenery from home. I’m hoping to drive across Canada back to Newfoundland one day in my TD5 110. Welcome! Enjoy your time!
That would be so incredible. We hope you do it.
Amazing as usual guys, look after each other ❤
Vous m'inpressionnez mais surtout vous nous régalez!!! Merci!🙏
Thanks for vídeo. Cheers
thanks to these videos i finally bought my own truck to travel, keep up the videos.
Awesome!!! Bon voyage.
Super video, guys.
Newfoundland has so much to see and experience.
You absolutely must visit Gros Morne National Park and also the Viking settlement at Lanse aux Meadows on the northern peninsula.
The Vikings visited Newfoundland 1,000 years ago! Quite amazing!
Stephy might know about St Pierre and Miquelon - islands off the southwest coast which are owned by France. A fairly quick ferry ride or fly in from St John’s.
Hope you enjoyed your time there and that you’ll be able to enjoy further adventures in Newfoundland!
Oh the lupines! So beautiful and typical of east coast. NFLD was my favourite place to visit after the Yukon. The hospitality from your co-worker was also extended to us by a former co-worker we met at a conference. NFLD hospitality is the best. If you have time visit any of the museums on your travels and any craft and arts co-operative. We have this wonderful Outport Santa that we purchased. Every Christmas it has a place of honour on our mantel reminding us of this wonderful province.
Fantastic trail, really nice scenery, thanks for letting us know about it and share your experience!
Do like these epic walk interludes, glad you can make them work so well with work & in the past shipping breaks.
What amazing video
With the hike in the heat.
Superb. I work for Chevron and visited our St John’s office in 2014 , best work trip ever such a nice town and brewery :). It was winter though and loads of snow. Reminded me of Norway.
Canadians love hiking! So much empty space to walk around and explore...
I have herd of that trail from friends thy loved it ( all but the bugs ) said if I ever got there on a kayaking trip to take the time to do it . From the looks of it in this video I think next summer when kayaking near there I’m going to do it . Thanks for all the wonderful places you two take us to . My bucket list from your videos is geting longer by the year . 😁 spectacular scenery and beautiful video again yOu two . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):)🌎🍻👍🏼😁
Amazing!! I loved the shot with all the blue flowers!
Wow! You are in Canada 🇨🇦 welcome to Canada. I have been your very early subscribers. We live in Vancouver area of Canada. Would love to meet you when in this part. Welcome again🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️

Jaimerais beaucoup vous rencontrer !😅
❤❤❤❤ welcome to Canada. I am on the West Coast
Awesome video and glad to see y'all are getting closer to the US. Would be awesome to have a meet and greet at some point in the US or Canada. Cheers!
I like walking too, 1 hour one way, then 1 hour back. Thats enough. Lol.
Toujours de superbe video👍
The tone in your voice and Leigh's laugh when you realize your rucksack is actually heavier than his 😅 Beautiful hike!
🤩😍🤩Welcome to Canada!!!🤩😍🤩
Good times!❤
If you pass in BC, go to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (next to Golden) at the Double Black. The best coffee shop ever (only for coffee again Leigh😉).
La patronne est française, importée depuis les Alpes.
Looks fabulous. Very inspiring. What hiking shoes do you use? Are they waterproof? Thanks.
Love watching your travels guys. And the flag you snuck in there in the packing 👍
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦. NFLD is one of my most favourite provinces for the geography and the friendly people. You will have a wonderful time there, enjoy! Your camera will get a workout.
Wait until the rockies also i was in vancouver for 2 y and im coming out with the video soon on my chanel amazing the canada Now im back in Montreal
I love your videos when you go hiking.
I have a question about the water filter you use.
Have you also had the experience that the filtered water tasted like plastic for a long time? 👋
15:49 - that is so true
Some very creative meals there Stephy - I am taking notes, as it is way better that my usual fare 😞
I did what I could 😅 I usually prefer to dehydrate my own meals but there, it wasn’t an option.
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland Stephy, have you considered doing a hiker / travellers cook book ?
If I'm impressed with your trail meals, then there will be plenty of others too and with your photo skills, it can't fail to be a hit.
Just an idea for when Leigh goes back off to sea 🙂
Thanks guys 👍👍👍
Merci pour ces belles images. 😊
Avec plaisir 🙂
Love it - have fun guys! You should also do the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island to bookend Canada 🍁
When I visited N&L, the Puffins were a tourist draw. I found one of Canada's realist painters, Christopher Pratt, by looking up the N&L flag.
Great scenery 👍. Spent a few years around coastal South Carolina, and they had small flying insects (similar to a Midge maybe) that bit. We always called them Flying Teeth.
Horrible little things 😅
Amazing video. I always love your videos. Love from Pakistan ❤.
Супер!!! Молодцы!!!
Nous y sommes allé pour les vacances maintenant on veux y vivre 😂
I was sailing 23 years in artic hight artic Hudson Bay not always easy but love my job😊
😮 definitely not easy.
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland je viens de la ville de Québec Québec et Newfound land the 2 nicest province du Canada f… truyeau
Never seen so much processed food.
Enjoy
I usually dehydrate meals for long distance hiking but here it wasn’t an option.
👏👏👏👏
That water must have had a lot of tannins in it! Nature's tea! 😂
Jerky vs Biltong can’t compare😀
Awesome stuff. You're in some Gordon Lighfoot country! Also in the land of Camping with Steve. You'd like him. www.youtube.com/@campingwithsteve
Safe and amazing travels. Hope you all come to this continent for a while!
Also, that ship in the video looks like the same one that's in the movie ffolkes (also called North Sea Hijack). Roger Moore in a non-bond role.
Sapporo Ichiban 👍. My favorite Japanese ramen
If you're still in the St John's area, don't miss out on getting screeched in at Christian's Bar!
We did . But in a different place. Actually organized by Leigh’s company for all the workers . Was a really good one.
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland Glad to hear it! Hope they had a real fish!
Great video! Why do you have to go to NY city to activate a visa for Canada?
Entered in visitor visa as the work visa wasn’t “ready” in time. Had to go out out the country and in again to enter under work visa. Leigh will be working in Canada.
I don't remember seeing what your job is on a drill-ship. If it isn't a problem to you I would be interested in the nature of your work. I guess that you had to rustle up a whole lot of new hiking/camping gear
Their last video will give you the answers you seek
I work as an assistant driller. We took all our own hiking and camping gear with us to Newfoundland.
Hi guys you needs some bushman - roll- on personnel insect repellant
Ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies and leaches. This is what you need it’s about 90 mil long and about 40 mill dia
We are scared to use deet as it can damage our [ expensive ] hiking equipment. (Tent, mat , sleeping bag) this stuff melts plastic 😅
But we might get some when we go to Oz .
Are you working off the coast of newfoundland ?
Yes Off shore. Actually near the Titanic wreck.
Damm. You were in Montreal?
Only Newfoundland this time.
Im in montreal let me.know
What a pity, I have followed the two of you for some time and then you had to throw stupid politics into it! The flag of so called Palestine! Really!
I agree
Toujours de superbe video👍
