    Thanks for the insight into Newfoundland. As an airline pilot from Europe I pass by there often and always wonder how it looks like down there. Now I know! St. Johns is one of our main alternates when crossing the Atlantic. Thanks for the videos, safe travels!

    For the bites look for a muscle rub that has Menthol, the higher the percentage the better it will be. For the existing bites look for after bite or ammonia sticks, it stings a little sometimes but gets rid of the itch. Part of Greenland is part of the North American continent and Alaska has an Island just over the border of the east west line. But for continental North America it is canada. Hope your trip is going well.

    I'm not sure which platform Leigh is going to work on, but my dad worked on building the Hibernia GBS for 4 years out of Bull Arm. When they floated it out onto the Grand Banks, the GBS was the heaviest man made object ever moved.
    My grandmother was from Holyrood, way back when Newfoundland was still a British Colony.

    There is a huge Irish influence in Newfoundland. A lot of people don't realize that Irland is only 1800 miles from Newfoundland. Most natives have a slight Irish "twang" in their voice😊

    • @GrizzlyNbearOverland
      @GrizzlyNbearOverland  13 днів тому +1

      We are currently using the Z-Packs 2 person. I think it's called the duo. Waterproof but condensation is an issue with a single walled tent. This is one of the disc sides to going lightweight but we believe it's definitely worth it. The tent weighs approximately 580g.

    Sad flies we call them in New Zealand. Head starts the unstoppable itch. So ice cubes will help and antihistamine. Most get allergic reaction from the spit.. insect repellent with lots of deed works. Or just cover up.

      @GrizzlyNbearOverland  13 днів тому

      Thank you for the advice. Wasn’t easy on the track. Oblivious no access to ice cubes. Deet can damage expensive hiking and camping equipment . antihistamine : the good one can make you sleepy. 🤪🤪 So … well…

      I think they meant the farthest east piece of Canada. North American plate goes to Greenland and Alaska has an island just over the east west border for the truly farthest east. The continent even goes all the way to Russia, but for continental north America that place would be farthest east and a tourist attraction. Tourist attractions are not often scientific.
