    This is very helpful! I took a Paul Heaston class on Craftsy some time ago. He is very talented, but got quite detailed right off the bat and I was sunk. BTW, I like teaching videos like this WITHOUT music. Music is so oersonal and what may be pleasant to one person is irritating to another. I always feel like I can play my own music in the background if I want when watching a tutorial like this.

    Always love to see your watercolor sketches. You should publish a coffee table book.💖 Btw, I saw you a few years back at a mall near where I used to live. I was too shy to approach you and also did not want to disturb you as you were having dinner with your wife. Suffice to say, I was fangirling in silence.😅 Thanks for your helpful and entertaining videos!

    Great video!!!
    So important Especially when you’re standing, and your arm is cramping. I really need to learn to simplify a drawing, yet still keep it recognizable.

    I like both these types of sketching , the simplified way Id probably use for a rough draft of the more detailed sketches, you explain so well its easy to understand as you you sketch , but I see the more 2 point perspective in the detailed drawing, I noticed something i never realized before, its all about angles too when we look at the subject, that will make me understand better to draw from what i actually see, thanks for the great instruction as always Im inspired by your sketches,

      Oh and I really enjoy the 'reduced palette' watercolor concept. Where you select only 3 colors from your stash of watercolors and use that to make a balanced painting. Keep up the good work!

    Great tutorial Teoh. That looks a very flexible nib....is it a gold nib? If not, what nib is it?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  3 роки тому +1

      That's Pelikan M200. It's supposed to be a stiff nib (F) but it can produce a thicker line when pressed harder.

    Hey, was just asking if my sketch should always be neat and straight and not some free hand kinda sketch that you you have shown a tutorial here about?
    What I mean is can sketches be both about free drawing and not always about keeping the lines straight and the details right?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  3 роки тому +5

      A straight line does not have to be perfectly straight to give the illusion it’s straight.
      A sketch can appear detailed even without details added everywhere.
      Making art is about creating an illusion sometimes. Anything goes. You won’t know what works or not until you try it. Experiment.

    Hello. I will want to indulge myself and I will like to buy myself an foutain pen. I have a budget of around $ 100. You advise me which foutain pen?

    • @Nypintha
      @Nypintha 3 роки тому

      Check his blog and other videos - he has done many reviews of fountain pens. My opinion: You can get a great one for 25$ - TWSBI Eco.

    • @PaulaBean
      @PaulaBean 3 роки тому +1

      I'm very happy with my Kaweko Sport which costed me only $20, so I had $15 more to spend on DeAtramentis ink, which is suitable for fountain pens and dries rather quickly and is waterproof so you can use watercolor over it! Double win!
