- Drosera schizandra is a rare sundew endemic to the rainforests of Far North Queensland. The species grows on embankments and creek lines in the Bartle Frere and Bellenden Ker mountain range. These habitats have a comparatively sparse canopy from the steep slope and open creek so can receive some dappled filtered sunlight. At other times, the ground is plunged into deep shade.
So many of them and such different habitat to other droseras.

Because I saw your post on FB, I bought a schizandra to add to my collection. She/he seems happy at the moment. Pretty cold in Victoria at the moment so I'm hoping my little guy will do well. Looks like you had a good trip. cheers Kim

I've wondered if the Queensland's _three sisters_ are archaic ancient sundew plants, or are carnivorous plants on their way of losing their carnivory.
