That layup though.
ryanbxxxx graceful af
Yo I couldn't get down here fast enough to write that haha! Every single time I see that shit it looks better & better! He was perfection out there. It's also crazy cause he did that to protect the ball! it looks beautiful by default but he didn't do it to look good, he just couldn't help it haha! AWESOME growing up watching him but it sucks cause it will never be again. Hate that we must get old....
@@thetruth72667 you ain't said nothing but THE TRUTH!! I agree with you 100 percent.
@@thetruth72667 I ABSOLUTELY agree with you fam....that layup was beautiful asf
Fam!! Larry bird did not lie
That layup was so effortless and smooth... The best ever!
What's crazy is that is an understatement! Saying he's the best just doesn't to do justice to how incredible he was lol! He was coming off of a broken foot doing this shit man. GOAT & now I'm understating him.
@@thetruth72667 that layup is better than every Kyrie layup he's ever done
I've seen that layup on a different angle. Can't seem to find it. It was incredible
kang sh!t 👑
Yea. His handles are underrated. He used those big ass hands to move the ball around in traffic in the restricted zone a lot of the time. He did this stuff in games all the time and they're just totally lost to time because they're not on his "highlight clips" on UA-cam.
He did it so effortlessly.
good detail.
Just makes me want to cry. Man, those were the days. I was lucky to have grown up when I did.
You said bro
I can't even PRETEND to do his last move
No one will believe this but in my prime I could do MJs layups.. at least 90% of his layup package I made my own just because he was the only player I studied as a child and I was athletic enough to mimic him. I'm 5'10" and honestly made ppl stop games with some of the things I did instinctively from just watching the best to ever do it. Im 38 now and I only dream (literally) about doing those things now. It's not completely gone 😉 but if I don't wanna walk with a limp in 10 years I have to quit. I only know one intensity to play at (thanks also to Mike).. So I'm taking up fishing lol. 💯
Neither can Lebron.
And Nick Wright says Jordan's athletic ability is overrated
I pretend it but I missed
Look at how he split his legs when he did that layup. So smooth.
Look like an Air Jordan air walk.🙂
This Jordan would own any gym, at anytime, and at any place in this universe.
The layup is so fucking insane but for him its like taking a coffee in the morning. Damn
His leaping ability was so quick after he rehabbed his ankle/foot injury and made a full recovery. He's hands down the greatest player to ever play the game, in my humble opinion.
That layup is by far the most gracious technical layup with gift and physical hands that made that possible. It has to be a certain breed of player to pull this off effortless! The next Michael prototype has to be in the same size, talents wise and have large hands to have the best layup package
That was beautiful.
I'm sure someone has already said this, but this "rare footage" was in the video collection " Micheal Jordan, Come Fly with Me".
Run that last play at 0:22 at 25% speed and it's just art in motion. The number of subtle moves and adjustments he makes instantly and effortlessly is insane, to say nothing of the fluidity and body control. Even just the part where he blow by the initial defender - notice that he allows the dribble to rise up higher than normal because he knows the guy will swipe from behind, and this will protect the ball. Then he moves it away from a second defender reaching in, and effortlessly goes into a circular acrobatic move and finish. Amazing. The best there ever was, the best there ever will be. And he's about 4 years away from his peak, here.
And his highest point of his peak came in 1993.
He slapped his wrist also did u notice that
Whats the name of this song
@@redsus7569 yeah, he does it pretty often. Lots of time he slaps his wrist/forearm with his back to the basket
@@rocketmaster06 Lyrical Productions - Rhythm N Blues
by far the greatest athlete that ever lived. he could make something difficult look so simple and easy.
Joey chestnut is the greatest athlete to ever live
Wilt chamberlain was a far greater athlete jordan lost most of his athleticism after 1996 wilt chamberlain was still very athletic at the ge of 45
The combination of power, grace, fundamentals and the drive to win at all cost is what made Jordan the best. Everyone had a piece of it but he had ALL of it.
That air reverse layup was gorgeous af also he kills me with the clapping
The best to ever play the game hands down! I'm so lucky to have grown up watching him, I was 11 when he got drafted, perfect age to start to follow the G.O.A.T.! I lucked out as well when it came to televised games, my family finally got cable around this same time. We had WGN in Chicago and TNT in Atlanta so we got to watch every Bulls and Hawks game. I couldn't have asked for anything better then watching Jordan and Wilkins do their thing all season long. Call me crazy but the league was way more exciting back then.
The crazy thing is he was literally just messing around
Groovingonem My sentiments exactly!
Scares me to death when young rookies had to guard him.
Holly crap that layup was nice!!
Hes so graceful bro. Most graceful athlete ever honestly
That was actually at UNC-Wilmington in 1987. I was there and I have pictures of MJ wearing those exact clothes. Also, you'll notice that the lane, aka "the paint" is green, which was one of UNC-W's colors at the time. That's Trask Coliseum. That footage is from the "Come Fly With Me" video and it's always driven me crazy that it's identified as Chapel Hill.
Doesn't look like any gym I've seen in Chapel Hill
that layup is one of his best ever moves --- wow
that move- i mean the extension, the flexibilty - even todays top nba players- 30 years later cant pull that off in the same way. a freak physically.
0:18 The most amazing thing to me about Jordan on the long list of amazing things is he dunks with the same power of a 7 footer.
Looks like he did not have to jump hi to dunk... but still looks like he is floating! What a amazing player!
The way he can just hang in the air like this is just fucking crazy
He never stopped honing and adapting his skills.
I love that wrap-around layup at the end! Wow!
You know how gymnasts tuck the legs when they do flips? That's how MJ distributes the weight mid-air to extend the range of motion of his acrobatic moves. So smart.
Even 35 yr old Jor would eat the NBA today, but this is the 22 Jordan. The NBA would cry so loud lmao
Im just a 12 year old kid at that time who witnessed that spectacular move at the sideline.
Is there any footage from that game?
He did a faint look away as he gracefully glided to the other side of the rim for that lay up. That's how you know he was just messing around and if he was this man is just...what can I say...the goat!
Plus he slapped/tapped his own wrist at the end of it. Goat.
That lay-up was so smoooooooth. All MJ needed is the suit & tie
to explain how otherworldly this is..he attacks right, splits 2 defenders, glides his way to the left side of the basket, and finishes with the right hand off the glass but at an approximate 20 degree angle. ok that's Greatness personified...
This is the footage before he came back to the bulls after injury pick up games at NC when he was not supposed play on his ankle 🐐 been ready
The fact is that Historical Lay up is the biggenning of Jordan logo legacy
0:24 this man give his own layup a whole applause
Whats the name of this song
love his layup
With the forearm tap at the end of the lay-up. Only MJ … incroyable
How can you compare this guy to someone else!😍
Damn.... never gets old👏👏👏
The goat my goodness the flare on that thang
No more than a couple months after this he dropped 63 on the celtics...in the playoffs. Had 49 the game before.
This is after his foot was healing. He didn’t tell the Bulls he was playing pickup games. They would have flipped. That layup though, who else but the GOAT? He was just messing around. Also this is from his vid, Come Fly With Me.
He split on air..my goodness
That guy was sick! And I'm a Duke fan lol.
Greatest player ever seen to play
That jelly layup was flames
What an athlete he was. That layup at the end was icing on the cake! Crazy!
MJ layup package is unparalleled. My goodness.
the last lay-up was the thing only michale jordan can do so fast :)
Natural raw talent bro he could have done anything, mma, boxing, or whatever!
All of His Majesty's movements were otherworldly.
That final layup!👀
Okay! For those in the era where everybody played basketball in some sort of capacity. The ones who really had some sort of decent game, played some where, either after work, during school sessions, or recreationally in some of sort of league. This was done all over the country, North and South. The most competitive basketball, starting from pick- up basketball was in North Carolina (that l know of, with New Jersey, East Orange and North Newark). MJ was in this odyssey and l have heard the stories of how he just astounded those who watched him play pick-up games. Lawd knows l can only imagine. Especially when you throw in James Worthy, Jimmie Black, Sam Perkins, and any of the other UNC basketball players and students who had some type of game. Wow! Just imagine.
nobody noticed the tap his left hand gives to his right hand at the end of that layup? this cat used to do that in games to get "and 1" calls lol...GOAT
That lay up at :25. The clap. How he come up with shit like this? Mad swag to his game.
That layup had extra jelly on it.
Mj was already doing this even theres still no modern training programs to teach him those moves
Pure bliss..
Greatest of all time.
MJ the GOAT.
That's one sick layup
No one compares!😍
Some train for years to get good at one aspect of the game. Michael has everything and it's effortless. Power, precision and technique. The greatest of all time.
Peep the Carolina blues
15 second ad for a 36 second video. Only because of Jordan. Only!
The best and the mos spectacular finisher around the rim ever
Magnificent.
Main reason mj is the goat?that layup tho🙌🙌
That move at the end is just....
Jordan was amazing his last layup 0:23 who does that NOBODY
No one moved the way Jordan did
That's cause he was half-man, half-jaguar. #Unfair
Love the clap-reverse layup
Clap layups were his thing. Didn't matter where he was facing in relation to the basket
Jordan is the GOAT! The King of Kings!!!!
dude just moved different
Graceful, and fast
That move at 0:21! Whew!
That Air reverse layup no one does like Michael Air Jordan
EXPLOSIVE
0:17 He dunkend like he's a big man
TeamFlightBrothers : what's the name of this track playing in the background?
0:26 its just insane 🔥
dam that lay up though. Jordan #1 4 life.
I am begging you what is this instrumental ??? I read the description and that is wrong
Éso es lo que vale oro
That version of Jordan shows up you go home period legend.
Su majestad mj
0:21 wow!! Love it!!
that layup at :20!!!!
What's the song being played in the video from?
Many will not get those moves in their entire careers...
Where did you find these rare “Come fly with me” clips?
He gave himself a high five
That reverse though...
The court was not at UNC-Jordan's alma mater-which is _the_ UNC. In other words, the court was not on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill, the originally sole University of North Carolina, chartered in 1789. But the court may have been at _a_ UNC-a different, newer university in the state's actually "UNC system"-whereby _the_ UNC is officially UNCCH. I would place the court at UNC Wilmington, UNCW, in Jordan's hometown.
In the footage, you see, the arena looks nothing like the Dean Smith Center, the Dean Dome, open since January 1986. When I arrived on the Chapel Hill campus in August 1994, the men's basketball teams, both varsity and junior varsity, played and practiced in the Dean Dome. And the footage looks unlike Carmichael Auditorium, too-the arena of Jordan's own, three UNC teams from 1981 to 1984-still the arena of the women's basketball team.
Meanwhile, the prime student courts remained in Woolen Gym, olden, where pickup games routinely included JV players and occasionally varsity stars. One day in 1995 or 1996, I heard through Woolen's grapevine that Michael Jordan had stopped by and played there that day. But the arena in this footage looks nothing like either Woolen or Fetzer, the other student gym, new, built in 1981. Further, I cannot even fathom a UNC Chapel Hill court with _green_ paint.
Besides white, the UNC Chapel Hill color is a pastel blue, _Carolina blue._ Further, the teams are the _Tarheels,_ whose spelling conflicts with the floor's lettering visible in this footage. (A viewer can start at 00:13, instantly tap the space bar to freeze the video, and tap the comma key or the period key to skip one frame backward or forward to find the best view during 00:14.) By contrast, UNC Wilmington's colors-though officially teal, navy, and gold-look mainly green on UNCW's website. And the teams are the _Seahawks,_ cohering with the writing on the floor.
Bro I was getting ready to sit back and see him destroy...and then the video ends lmao. Didn't notice it was 30 seconds
That layup tho!
