Unbelievable how much his game changed over the years. Early on he was more of a drive to the basket player with the mid range jumper here and there. In later years he developed the more accurate and almost unguardable fade away jumper.
It was unguardable
he did that a lil but in this
He became flawless on both ends.
What’s the point of shooting when you can drive and there’s no 3 point line? 😀😀😀
He had every shot developed back then, man....what are you talking about?
Didn’t even have a 3PT line when he was in college. That makes it even more impressive he elevated his 3PT% (from the non-shortened line) to 34.5% for his career in the Playoffs and 40% for his career in the Finals. Imagine if he grew up in a 3PT-heavy era how much more effective he would be.
MJ would take a dump on the NBA today! Easy

@@SAINTxSZN Yes
I played HS 🏀 then and had a deep game but my Coach would pull me when I shot deep. And would make the shots at that. After a couple years they put the 3 point line in. I would have averaged 16 a game as a point guard. SMMFH.
@@lamontmelrose7640Lol no he wouldn't the league is much more talented
He always had that sweet jumper that he would dominate with in his later years. G.O.A.T!!!!

@Kyle Chang jordan was 21-22 as a rookie..Lebron just turned 18 when he was drafted...u would have to compare rookie jordan to 3rd-4th sesson Lebron
How little did we know we were seeing the GOAT in his early stages of greatness
As a kid, I really enjoyed hearing Billy Packer calling games. He offered great insight into the overall strategy of the game. He was blunt and honest if a player made a good or bad play. Helped me appreciate basketball even more. He will be missed! RIP
The goat Michael Jeffrey Jordan
...we didn't know...we just didn't know what greatness was...and then...Michael Jordan happened to all of us

You didnt know what greatness was watching Bird and Magic? How young are u?
who ever played with Jordan it's a blessing to ever say hey I played with Jordan while in college.
Apparently you don't know? James Worth, Kenny Smith, Sam Perkins and Brad Daugherty were all long time NBA Starters, some where NBA Champions, Jordan and Kenny Smith were both Slam Dunk Champs and they all had long NBA Careers.
MJ is way ahead of his time.. the imprint of greatness is already there.
At this point you could see he was destined to fly! He was just a kid here!
He was poetry in motion. Greatest to ever play the game.
Facts we all know lebron was the greatest to play the game

You know the only thing that can hurt MJ’s legacy is haters.
Even early in his career, they said he couldn’t shoot. He seems to be doing just fine. ( in college freshman year)
NC for life, yo!💯
Jordan's first step was blazing fast. He would get by anybody with that step, and he was so explosive attacking the basket at a young age.
Jordan's college and Lebron's high school highlights are so fun for me to watch because you can just feel the poential oozing. Its amazing to see the young versions of two of my favorite players.
it's amazing that someone can compliment the two witout any insults.

The special thing about jordan is that his fundamentals never changed dramatically just enhanced. his shot looks the same and his overall movement stayed the same compared to when he played for the bulls. just a natural talent.

It’s crazy to say this but NC MJ would average 35-40 in this era now 🤷🏾♂️🤣🥴💪🏾 #FACTS
Did you even watch the video? That was some of the worst defense I've ever seen. "This era" gtfoh
More like 40-45 a game i this era or probably 50.
No one plays defense now and the lane is wide open with no centers
@@Teffy2105 this video has some of the worst defense I've ever seen, defenders leaving people wide open for shots. College and NBA defense is way better than this
Nope he didn't shoot 3s yet at this point.
@@aim.moe7687 Most college teams play zone, which is what you are seeing in most of this video. Jordan just picked his spots because the midrange is usually open against zone.

1:05 Bet she now understand how lucky she is to witnessed a legend in the making.
We all know about Jordan's winning shot and 16 total points in the Title game.. he also led the Tar Heels with 9 rebounds almost matching Ewing's 11 for Georgetown.
The birth of the GOAT!
This video illustrates what LeBron lost by not playing college under a quality, disciplined coach. Jordan developed strong fundamentals playing for Coach Smith. It also helped that Jordan played without a lot of future NBA stars. Can you imagine how challenging those NC practices were?
LeBron understands the game as well as anybody who has ever played, coached, or watched it though. College would have only given him the answers a couple years earlier
@@user-ht9mh4cm3f he would’ve been exposed for his lack of shooting ability vs those zone defenses and free throw line too
Understands the game when he has the most turnovers of all time?
@@teemiti7679Stockton is 4th, Kobe is 5th and Jason Kidd is 6th in turnovers... What's your point?
He played with James Worthy, Perkins, Kenny Smith.
Many analysts say Jordan can't play in today's NBA because they play Zone. They seemed to have forgotten MJ played against Zones very effectively in college
Happy Michael Jordan day folks. 2-3-23
So amazing he was able to do what he did with ZERO spacing
Went to five star basketball camp won MVP two weeks back to back so he was the high school GOAT then crushed everyone in college since his freshman days So in college he was the GOAT then went to the NBA and crushed everyone even making it where some legends didn’t even win a championship because he was beating them so in the NBA he was the GOAT oh I forgot to mention he held the scoring record for the McDonald’s all american basketball game for about 30 years.
Jordan is what happens when you mix extreme God given talent, a great work ethic and most important his fundamentals were exceptional. Last one is underrated
And great coaches
Love it
1:05 SHE TOOK IT PERSONALLY
6:38 "Somebody put a 9 up there"
That was probably D wade
I played Sonny Hill league 5 years!
I love the no 3 point play, you really get to see more athleticism instead of todays brand of basketball
North Carolina was the perfect college 🎓 team for Jordan!
North Carolina was loaded in the early 80s. Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Brad Daugherty, Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith
Dean smith is the reason MJ is not known as the Greatest college player ever because he was legit from day 1 you can already see the layup package and his mid range was already 🔥
There's no question that the system restricted his abilities a little bit. In a different college system he likely would have been able to put up far bigger numbers.
In one regard, there’s some truth to this. But even Jordan himself will tell you that the fundamentals that Smith insisted on were vital to his growth as a complete player. A lesser coach would have been too tempted to basically just say ‘Hulk - smash!’
That play the Alley Oop give thanks to David Thompson of North Carolina St.
The goat by miles
I truly believe in life to be very successful in life you have to have that mindset of domination in everything in ife and getting to be very successful is truly hard work and working of dominance in everything that mindset it will get you there and then make smart moves constantly to succeed to success.💯💪🏽💪🏽

The basketball court looks so weird without the 3 point line
@7:02 shows ya that players subconsciously had to learn to defend his majesty Michael very gracefully, if not, then a whistle blew.
He was a great player obviously but the league knew his value and protected him to a degree
the refs only help lebron not jordan
JohnnyB that was silly
Yeah they pushed him around so much he averaged over 37PPG against the Pistons in the Playoffs.
Ever since after getting cut out from his high school basketball team, Jordan never took the game for granted, he worked hard at it even though he already had God given natural talent and the rest is history!!!
god didn't have anything to do with his talent, that was all Jordan and the amount of time he put into perfecting his play. Giving an imaginary god credit for this is an insult to Jordan and his craft. How dare you.
He wasent cut, he just didnt make varsity as a freshmen...

The young G.O.A.T and the shot against G town that put Jordan on the map GO HEELS
But he couldn't shoot when he was in his early years, says the "experts". Proceeds to watch a 10 minute highlight reel of him in College where 90% of it was him draining jump shots from every spot on the court. Riiiiiiiiiight....he couldn't shoot though. You sure?
I guess it’s Jordan’s running style but doesn’t it look like his knee or leg is bothering him as he gets back on D?
I only got to watch him later in the 90s but he was so smooth then. Here he already had that confident and deliberate attack. As soon as he receives the ball, he knows exactly what his play will be. He has that confidence here but he continued to push his development further. He bulked up from his really lean frame here; probably attributed to series against Detroit. The true GOAT!
it's kind of strange seeing the "skinny" Jordan again.
