    Hey Everyone! The CL Eye Driver project is dead! DO NOT BUY IT!!
    OpenTrack now supports the PS3 Eye Camerra Natively. Follow the instructions below
    github.com/opentrack/opentrack/wiki/PS3-Eye-open-driver-instructions

    Heads up: some cheap USB cables don’t respect the color coding inside. If you have a multimeter, I’d recommend plugging the decapitated cable into a USB power pack, or your computer, and testing to confirm the 5V shows up on the red and black wires before you cut any of them away.

    After years of messing around with my Track IR only to get "close", this tutorial helped me dial it in perfectly. Best I've found. Thank you!

    Good luck trying to get the CL eye driver. just paid for it and the link they sent me to download the driver is bad and there is no way to contact them since you can't even make a account with them. now I have to call the bank and put a stop payment let alone the money I wasted making the IR tracker and modding the ps eye.

      Hit me up on Discord!! After reading up on this I don't think OpenTrack needs the driver anymore. Looks like it's standalone now. Continue your build Sir

    Nice tutorial. Using opentrack for years now and it is very good. Ik have tried alternatives like facetracknoir, but led tracking is still the best solution for head tracking. Tip: mount a USB battery on the top of your headset for true wireless.

    Thank you. I buy my custom trackir for 25 dollars on allegro.pl (polish ebay) (modified ps3 camera+clip with ir leds) but u have very detailed software tweaking. I think u can cut this part and make separate video to ppl to see. There is only 2 tutorials worth mentioning. One is on il2 forums and Grim Reapers. But both failed at explained about tweaking mapping for smooth experience. GR have most default, and on i2 they dont cover this very much. So tutorial like this about mapping be very popular. But now ppl will think this is only about build your trackir so i think u miss views. Sorry for my english is not my native language.

    The 'grabbing the dot to adjust' part was something I hadn't considered for setting up the extremes. Love how timeless these setup videos can be. Thanks.

    Just starting out with DCS and the whole sim space. Is this solution still relevant with open track? I mean is this a better solution than the opentrack with a webcam?

    Hey, I just made one myself! Soldering for the first time in my life, but it went fine thanks to your tutorial!
    Now I'm waiting for my PS3 eye camera to arrive to test this out.

    soldering is really a good skill that I wanted always to learn also because I like to repair electronics. Do you have any nice tutorial or any material about soldering. Do you need to wear any protection for mouth or eyes when soldering?

    My TrackIR camera went Kaput, can I still use the Pro tracking LED's and use a Ps3 eye camera with the open track software? Or, would it be better to just use a Webcam and face tracking? I'm on a strict budget right now, so I can't put out the $150 dollars for a new TrackIR camera.

    Awesome job!!! Exactly what i was looking for ... been using Vr but i feel cross eyed after a while and my eyes are strained as well after a long flight ... the Valve index is nice but nothing seems to be sharp and in focus... Mind you i've ordered the track ir even though it's not cheap, and don't have a 3d printer but i've been soldering things since the 70s ..my projects are Guitars ....electric of course and i like instant gratification sometimes no matter the cost to a degree ...Great Video again !! from what i've seen on your presentation the VR headset might just get a little dusty .. but since i have the Alpha and Bravo set i might use the usb cable hack to add lighting to the Quadrant because i can't see the select button position and it has 5 positions alt, vs, hdg, crs and ias some back lighting would've been great but they didn't think of it unfortunately for night flying

      You can, just put some diskette film or camera film in front of the lens. The camera is only 30 FPS though, so the tracking can be a bit jittery.

    • @macnowak933
      @macnowak933 3 роки тому

      Main reason for using Ps3 Camera is 75 FPS at 640x480. U have smooth movement. On 30 fps u have not so smooth and jitter from time to time.
