I am having issues with the audio and video not matching. I have tried to record in medium quality vs high and that seems to help when I play back what I captured on my Mac but when I burn it to DVD and play it on a DVD player it isn’t in synch. Any thoughts?
Buyer beware: Lots of folks (myself included) got NOWHERE using this software. I am pretty computer savvy, and have some pretty cpu intensive audio and video editing software on my Windows 10 PC, but could not get Easy VHS to DVD to work at all: Could not even get a signal. Support is a joke. I ended up getting a stand-alone unit ($$$) so I don't need to think about what my PC does or doesn't have configured etc.. ..But don't take my word for it....read some of the reviews! UPDATE I was finally able to get the Roxio to work. Just by absolute, dumb luck I was going through random comments regarding folks with problems....and one I read suggested looking at the Windows "Camera Privacy Settings". This did the trick! Nowhere in any Roxio documentation did I find this vital bit of info. Search for more info on your own, but this is what I found:
"Before you can use Easy VHS to DVD Plus to record videos from your VCR or camcorder, the application will first need to be given permission to access your system camera. Not that Easy VHS to DVD Plus actually uses your computer’s built-in webcam, but the recording function itself is what the application needs to use. If you attach a recording device, such as the Roxio video capture USB device, this new device then takes over the function of your webcam. But if it does not have permission to access this function, then it cannot perform any recording task.
For Easy VHS to DVD Plus to access the system camera, it needs to be listed as one of the desktop apps allowed to do so. In the Windows Search box, type in “camera privacy settings”, select it from the search results, and hit enter. In the Camera settings window that comes up, scroll down to the section called “Allow desktop apps to access your camera” and make sure “Roxio Easy VHS to DVD” is listed, and the permission setting is switched to “On”.
But what if Roxio Easy VHS to DVD is not on the list of apps that are allowed to access your camera? This only means you have never successfully did a recording using this app previously. One thing to note is that Roxio Easy VHS to DVD will only appear on the list after a successful recording. "
I agree, the software is not very good. I downloaded Virtualdub 2, watched some "How to" videos and now it works great as a capture card with my Toshiba w-804 VCR using S-Video.
What kind of stand alone unit, and do you still recommend it a year later? TIA.

I had a Roxio unit, and it suddenly stopped working ( got video -no audio). Tech support was no help. Then picked up the ElGato and it works so much better, and can work on either a PC or a Mac.
Thanks for the info sometimes iwhen it did this with audio I just unplugged it and plugged it back in then it worked. Luckily I was able to get all my footage backed up.

Thanks for the video, it has been the most helpful that I have found. I am really struggling with the file types, playback and simply burning them to dvd's and saving them to the computer for later transfer. I am using a borrrowed Windows 10 computer- The process seems really slow but that is probably the computer. I have burned quite a few dvd's without testing them and I just tried to play it back and it won't play- is there a universal extension to change them too? My goal is to convert our home movies and eventually get them to a thumb drive vice dvd. Again I am really struggling and could use a little more breakdown or/detailed instructions on saving the files more universally. I also have a MacBook air that I would like to play them on. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Chris I use the new 2020 11” iPad Pro and it is very fast when it comes to rendering videos. Yeah definitely going to keep keep creating EBike Videos it’s just a little tough here in the winter time with the cold and the snow. I do have some future plans and might be purchasing a smaller foldable bike that my son can grow into and I just purchased an adult electric scooter that I will be making some videos on. I am actually working on the first video as I type this.

Yeah you won't be able to do all XP videos forever but you can also do rides to special places around you and show people places to visit when they come to your town, city or state. I am still working on getting things together and working on my wife's project. Once I am done with that I hope to start putting out some content. By the way I got a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone with the Fly More Combo & DJI Care Refresh. Flew it one time so far and I love it. Game changer for videos. What is that small tripod with the rotation platform you are using?

That’s awesome that you got a drone! They are so much fun and if this is your first drone I recommend checking out some of my older drone tutorials that I made especially the one about the attitude indicator.
Also be cautious about monetizing videos that you use with your drone footage with because if you don’t have a part 107 license you could get a huge fine that’s why I don’t monetize any of my drone videos.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Great you should mention that. I am currently setup to take the test in February. In the mean time I will learn to fly this thing and be ready when I start to make money with it once I pass that test. I will mainly be using it for commercial purposes in real estate and land sales here in Texas. I have a group of professionals in the industry that I am networked with locally here. @@JeremiahMcintosh What size the fines for no licence for drone footage?, If your camcorder videos are native 4:3, keep them that way or your footage will be stretched. Is your cam Hi8 or D8 ?, I had a major obsession with 8mm video tapes and have bought box loads from UK seller sillyprice, the old footage still on the tapes, some interesting to outright boring- UK buildings without narration, those will be taped over, I also love fat ebikes, the day before Xmass day 1 of 15 Stanley blades left on road blew out my back tyre, the bike seller said tyres not covered under warranty, the originals are the same as Lectric have CST BFT, I went with Innova city slicks, I left the knobby on front wheel

Hello, so I have all my connections and it has worked before with a different camera (this camcorder broke down). I'm trying on another one but I am only getting sound, no image. Can you help me figure this out?
I’m not really sure because I haven’t had that issue. I will try unplugging everything and then plugging it back in. Do you have the video playing on the camcorder? Maybe try to have it playing when you plug it in? Let me know if you figure it out please.

I am getting loud static and Best Buy staff said I have to spend the money to have someone do this professionally. I have the same camera as you and the same software, and I have all connections correctly plugged in. I have a newer laptop, and at best buy we reloarded the software and nothing we did worked.

I went to Best Buy and the guy went cross-eyed because he was so young, and made me feel older. I have been diagnosed with blood cancer, and I am desperate and can't afford to have Best Buy's referral to have someone professionally move these SAME tapes that you show onto digital folder on my computer. I start treatment pretty soon. I don't know how the future holds and while I have my wits about me I need help!. I am 61 years old and my kids will never see themselves when they were little. I am the only one that knows how to operate it. If possible would you be willing to connect with me somehow without the public knowing my phone number? probably a dumb question.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I have ordered the same product from Amazon the interesting difference is that it came with a CD. The first time I order VHS TO DVD PLUS 3 it didn't come with a CD with their program. I was also hacked and I believe it's a bad site that I originally downloaded the software to work this program. THIS IS AN ALERT TO ANYONE!!! I ordered from Hyper Microsystems Inc you are then forced to activate your product by giving your credentials then when I reinstalled it when I was at Best Buy my credentials were automatically typed in the dialog box upon loading the software. Jeremiah question "How can I completely get rid of the prior applications, log in info... from my computer before I add new software"?
Hi I'm at Best Buy again can you help me find a 35mm tape player that I can hook up to and m I very tapes to digital? ?? They think it's the camera not allowing signal to stay in tact because MY OLDER camera worked just fine just has slightly different cassettes.

@@JeremiahMcintosh Yea. It must be because I’m using a vcr opposed to directly plugging in camera like you are. Also Big vhs tapes. But thinking it has to do with the converter also. Haven’t tried direct to camera cause it’s a 87 lol. Can’t find the cord

I have the original Easy VHS to DVD from Roxio and I have the issue of choppy video when I import. I thought it was just the "preview" but it actually saved that way. Audio is fine, VHS cassettes and VCR are fine when hooked directly to the TV. Any idea what my issue is?
