    Very good segment. Thanks. Goff's been a top flight QB for 7 seven years now. You don't QB 4 Top 5 NFL offenses in 7 years for two different franchises without being really good.

    Brad Holmes had expectations for Goff after the trade unlike almost everyone else. Goff was by no means a throwaway in his eyes. Holmes was a part of the Rams organization when they drafted Goff, he knew what he was getting.

    Every QB walking this planet has head scratching plays. It’s just all about what the talking heads want to push.

    • @7Sonic7
      @7Sonic7 28 днів тому +1

      Stafford did too. It seems like a lot of head scratching plays are when the wr and qb are not on the same page. Most good QBs/leaders will own those in the press conferences and say “that was on me” when really it was on the wr. NFL football is crazy complicated and interpreting a defense by everyone on the offense consistently on the same play is not always going to happen.

      Ive seen all qbs do it once or twoce a game tbh. Open throw misses, throwing away from open players and just bad throws. This happens all the time for all qbs nobody is perfect.

    That throw at 4:43 is harder than it looks. He has a rusher in his face and he has to throw pretty deep downfield without being able to step into his throw. And it’s a dime. Anyways I’ve always thought Goff has a beautiful, smooth throwing motion.

  • @spuggD

    He's an excellent decision maker. The thing that let's him down is his arm. He throws far too many ducks and he can't put heat on the throw when the pass requires it. It's why Jamo doesn't score more with the amount separation he gets, and why ARSB is killing it.

    • @lucasross4041

    Definitely not perfect but very few QBs dont have some WTF moments. We watched the MVP have some in the playoffs. Everyone knows good players have bad games. I'm not the Goff fanclub leader but I consider myself lucky to not have complete uncertainty at QB like other teams

      Right, I'm not in his fan club either, but when I see the haters plop these brain dead, furthest thing from the truth piles all over the place, I can't help but to go to bat for him. Like him/don't love him. Top 10 easily, more like 6th or 7th. He's very good, but not worth that contract. I was really hoping he would Brady out, and take a lesser amount to help the team.

      Truth = insanity to you? I could break down my four paragraphs of absolute truth why Goff is at least the 6th or 7th best QB statistically, philosophically, common sensically, everything from his being #2 in the league in pass yards, to his sparkling 68% completion %, to his nearly breaking the NFL record for most passes without an interception, to his historically leading the perennial loser Lions to their first playoff win in 32 years, THEN A 2ND, racking up a 103.3 QB rating (on a team with the 5th most drops in the NFL) with ZERO INTs in 3 games in the process, but what's the point? You8're clearly suffering from a very bad case of Goffhater Derangement Syndrome (GDS).

      @@mr.lucaln7097it has a similar vibe to me of Ryan Tannehill pro bowl, he’s making great throws and plays but both teams seemed to have a run first physical system to open up the pass, even the rams used it with more motioning even on the run plays so you couldn’t distinguish between the two pre snap making it easier on the qb

    Good analysis, but I'm surprised you didn't mention what I consider to be Goff's kryptonite. His inability to be clutch in big moments of big games. When he plays with confidence, like in the first half against the Niners last year, he is a great QB. But when things start to go wrong, as they did in the second half of that same game, he crumbles. IMO. he seems to lack the trait that elite QBs have to lift the rest of the team on his shoulders. I've always felt that was the biggest knock on Goff, rather than the game manager stuff. Although I'm not a Lions fan, I was rooting for the Lions to win that game and go to their first SB. Yet, I question if Goff has the toughness and ability to be clutch in critical games and situations. After all, isn't that why McVay traded him away?

    • @NotATroll6996
      @NotATroll6996 29 днів тому +10

      I would say it was more the team around him crumbling in the 2nd half. Dropped passes, fumbles, defense giving up big plays etc.

    • @ajku9104
      @ajku9104 29 днів тому +8

      That not accurate take if you actually watch lions games. Goff generally been huge for the lions in clutch moments. He doesnt make huge plays, but he consistently makes important plays. If you are actually watching the film its clear, it just doesnt jump of the screen.

      But he was clutch in big moments of big games. Did you not see the 2 drops by Josh reynolds or 4 missed sacks on Purdy by the defense? Plenty of reasons why the Lions lost that game. To say it was because of goff is laughable.

  • @packzz3954
    @packzz3954 29 днів тому +1

    What has repeated in Goff’s career is his lack of ability to play off script, he is an excellent qb IF the team around him is is operating well and catering to his strengths, however he simply lacks the “it”factor but has all of the talent.

    • @Mr.X2188
      @Mr.X2188 28 днів тому

      To be fair, it is very hard to find qbs with that "IT" factor.
      The only qbs that I think currently have that are Mahomes and Lamar, and I think Burrow likely has it too.
      Whe Goff's supporting cast plays well, he almost never gas a bad game. Fortunately for the Lions, that cast is on their A game 99% of the time.

    • @GoldenAura32
      @GoldenAura32 27 днів тому +1

      I think Lamar is the #1 "it" factor QB in the league. He is not afraid to keep the ball and make the plays if his team is letting him down. He can and has held the game in his hands if the team around him hasn't realized it is game day yet. Unfortunately for him if the other team sees this and makes the proper adjustments it becomes an 11 on 1 situation and we see what KC was able to do against him in the championship game. Up until that point I was expecting the Ravens to destroy the Chiefs, but the only person that showed up to play was Lamar.

    • @JamesB-mi9uu
      @JamesB-mi9uu 26 днів тому

      @@GoldenAura32it’s obviously Mahomes who does, Lamar can get confused by defenses still as every time he plays Pittsburgh he holds onto the ball too long and loses the game because of it, Mahomes has great athleticism and is rarely confused by what the defense is bringing him
